I was on board with this video until you massively overanalyzed the thumb, saying how someone would see the parachuter in the thumbnail and wonder "will he land?" I would guess that a solid 0% of viewers noticed(or cared about) the parachuter in the thumb when they first clicked the video

While correct that they probably didn’t wonder that vocally in their mind, or say it out loud, the parachutes 🪂 adds a live action adventure element to the background of the thumbnail. The question of whether he lands or what happens next is implied by the action subconsciously. Without that element, the background shot is basically a “still life” artwork. 4:10 he literally has 4-8k cameras as can be seen in the video you got the clip of the 1080p from but he just doesnt upload in the quality. The advantage of 4-8k is still higher zoom potential while staying at 1080p.

This might just be my dumb opinion but I feel like the obsession with retention might actually hurt the content. Forcing something epic to happen every 5 seconds makes it hard to care about any of the contestants in the video. There's no time to pause and learn about anyone taking part

Unpopular opinion MrBeast's "Last to leave the circle wins 500K" having 100 people was by far the best video, because it had all the things you mentioned but on top of that I feel that in that video MrBeast was shown giving away thousands of dollars, go carts, ps5s, iPhone and 2 cars which made that video the best... He didn't do all these things in his Island video...

That’s a failure of RUclips’s formula, it can’t get away with it if you constantly risk losing your viewers and ruining all statistics.
