Noem left the untrained, bird hunting dog, that she admits she hated, unattended on a farm with chickens. After the dog predictably attacked the chickens, she (according to her own social media) “legally” shot the dog.
Properly crating the dog, or keeping it on a leash, would’ve avoided the situation used to define the dog as “aggressive”.
People are using “farm life” to justify her exceedingly stupid behavior. It’s disturbing.
As a farmer who raises animals, euthanizing old horses, culling livestock, processing fowl, is NOT the same thing as shooting a pup. Killing a dog instead of training it is not "farm life".

Most of us have delt with difficult animals -Never hated a single one though.
I grew up in the city and rural farm country. I don't know anyone who ever shot their animals, especially not dogs.
Farmers that I knew, family and friends, always had a vet on call. The local vets make house calls for everything, including end of life care, which is what they call it and how it was described to me by vets since the 70s.
She is just making excuses and disparaging farmers. She is painting them, as heartless and callous and they should be offended.

I wish that in addition to criticizing specific actions of Israel they were a little more willing to criticize the if an ethnostate. I keep watching these bits from the dinner. Just seeing Joe laugh at himself versus Trump seething when people aren't kissing the ring is refreshing.
I love that Biden did the interview with Stern. He should also do an interview with AARP and list all the things he has done and wants to do for retirees. And compare it with what Trump and Republicans want to take away from them
This is so important. Project 2025 outlines how they will gut Social Security and Medicare. These people who are voting for the Republicans need to know.
AARP is pretty reich wing anymore. They used to be an advocacy group. Now they make 45-50% of their profit from selling their name to companies to use for marketing. United Healthcare pays them about 30-40% to be their recommended Medicare supplement and advantage plan provider. The supplement plans are run by Medicare and identical from company to company. The only difference is cost and whether it is group or individual plan. They do something similar for their life insurance plans (NY life), auto and home (Hartford) and so on. If you check their prices aren't exactly cheaper.
They're good for membership for the magazine and the discounts for movies and shoes and such. But they're no longer an advocacy group. They're definitely biased, at this point.
United Healthcare is as corrupt as anything. They have stolen millions from Medicare and Medicaid with their "Managed Care Programs" that sell a free service, and take fees from patients that are already struggling.
The Howard Stern interview was brilliant. He did what Hillary should have done.

I love when Lovett gets deep into serious topics. He’s always got such a good thoughtful perspective. I think his role as the funny guy sometimes causes us to miss how extremely smart he is.

There is legitimate cause for criticism of the Israeli government. When government policies fail in the stated goal of greater security for Israeli civilians while commiting violations of international law, we must criticize that.
It's not clear he cares much for Israeli citizens either. The IDF has killed directly and also in bombing campaigns, and he obviously doesn't want the hostages back. Ultimately if there were a permanent cease fire, he'd be gone so that's not going to matter.
Those of us who have had 4 legged family members have at some stage struggled with end of life decisions. Whether to put them down or continue to force medication down their throats while wondering if we are just being selfish. To personally kill an animal because they are misbehaving or inconvenient is reprehensible behavior, indicating a lack of humanity. I’m still very upset about this I don’t find any part of this story funny.

I agree and not just because of Trump (though he's the most egregious example). I have never found the debate format particularly informative because half the time is spent on candidates interrupting each other or talking over each other. It's aggravating.
The "debates" are pretty much garbage, but the only way I would agree is if they were in soundproof boxes and they automatically cut the mic at the time limit. Trump just won't shut up and interrupts everyone constantly...nah, not interesting to me
The debates no longer serve much of a purpose, but not as much because of trump's complete ineptitude at debating, it was that the overwhelming majority of the public has no idea how debates are supposed to work, and judge their outcomes incorrectly. The effect of Clinton humiliating trump in their debates was that stupid people only cared that trump stood behind her in a way they could pretend was 'menacing' rather than just extremely creepy. Why have debates if the winner ends up losing with the public because the public has been dumbed down so much that they don't know how to interpret paragraphs correctly? Keeping the debates around at this point would be like riding a bike that goes backwards when you pedal forward, it just doesn't make sense.

This most recent Holzberger is right wing, the editorial tone and tenor, which is reflected in the tone of the articles, the headlines, and the slant of the coverage, is way beyond “”not saving democracy, the times is very much, being pro Trump and anti-Biden in a very precious way and needs to be called out on it

I am one of those 'run up the stairs' people in MANY contexts, but it's pretty normal when I'm at home and nobody can judge my eagerness. I am slower going down stairs than I am going up, it's a lot safer to run up the stairs vs running down, but I don't go as slow as trump waddles down an incredibly shallow ramp (maybe stop leaning forward while you waddle down a ramp?? Makes me want to go back to see what their coverage of the BLM protests looked like. Whether they felt they had to bring up singular people who did bad things amid the thousands who protested the "right way" according to them. And whether they felt the need to say that the BLM protests were all well and good but we also need to talk about this other thing that is related but not what the people there were protesting.

I'm a child of the sixties. I don't ever remember an election cycle with ads that were civil--that's why I always hated when political ads started ramping up every election and each cycle always seemed to get earlier and earlier. Grrrr....
1) I think Biden is just fine ragging on The Ex Guy in the way that he does. He's succinct, fine-tuned what's in his quiver, and sings his point solidly like he's just tuned the crystal. Ping! 🎶 What he says, I think, hits those on the other side right between the eyes, in a way that stops them in their tracks. Makes them think. Clear as day. He will win them over--at least the thinking ones. Biden should keep zinging those one-liners for sure.
2. Biden should not debate The Ex Guy. He doesn't have to; he's the incumbant. It's beneath him. Biden should only debate credible people serious about holding the position of an United States President, preserving our laws, our Constitution, our Democracy, and all our unalienable rights.
3) The Ex Guy we now know cheated to get in office and, the thug that he is, tried bullying governors in several states to illegally invent votes or toss out credible ballots in order to win. He has never played fair.
His co-conspirator maga GOP buddies polluted Our Supreme Court and put women's and LGBTQ+ lives in peril with several thousands dying since the overturning of Dobbs.
He's a user, a selfish low-life who doesn't respect a single person; yet, declares complete unadulterated loyalty from all who appear before him.
Under his tenure, 1M people died from his incompentency to handle a pandemic.
He's sold our classified secrets to our adversaries endangering our national security, getting several undercover people killed and others' lives jeopardized.
REAL IMPORTANT: If he's elected again, he's already sold the position to Putin. Mark my words.

The judge charged Trump the maximum allowed (time for NY to update that law!), and in his opinion he said that it wasn't remotely enough but his only other option is incarceration. The message is pretty crystal clear that he will put Trump in jail for at least a few days if he does it again.

More opportunities to cave. If the statement had been "do it again in any way and you're going to jail" I'd be as hopeful as you. But, it wasn't - there are qualifiers.
