I'm a physician with a LOT of friends who are anti-vax and anti-mask. They will go off on you on social media, but when I speak to them on the phone or in person, they just hesitate and can't give any reasonable info.
That's because most people can't think for themselves (no offense to your friends), but, in all fairness, there are people like that on both sides of every arguement.
My doctor had to put signs up around the office disclaiming that anyone who was physically or verbally abusive toward the staff would be escorted out of the office and potentially prosecuted. When I asked him about the signs he said, "We've had several incidents of patients become aggressive and unruly towards staff when we informed them that they tested positivie for COVID-19. They accused us of lying to them, spreading propraganda, etc. and a few of them got physical with staff, and we're very much over it." And my doctor is Conservative! I was just floored.

It's totally gross that people are comparing vaccine mandates to Jim Crow, the Holocaust, Apartheid, etc. You can't vaccinate your skin color away. You can't vaccinate your ethnic heritage or religious beliefs away. You can't call a vaccine mandate discrimination when it's something literally expected of everyone (barring certain age groups or medical conditions, but they're the ones who depend the most on everyone else getting vaccinated. They're the reason why vaccine mandates are so crucial. The exception literally does make the rule, in this case).

Protecting existing humans that already exist is maybe a noble goal. Protecting the creation of one more in a world already flooded with us maybe not so much.
I 100% agree with your conclusion, but religious beliefs are a choice. You can decide which version of your religion you'll follow, and how devoutly, or you can decide that other beliefs make more sense. None of those decisions requires anything more than a mentality shift- they don't require a physical change in your body (like skin color or medical statuses do) or a change in scientific facts (like the changes we've had to navigate during the pandemic).
The irony is that most of the people drawing these comparisons would be on the wrong side of those historical atrocities! They're all for discrimination when it benefits them.
Jordan is a national treasure. He's definitely the Stephen Colbert of this generation's Daily Show. His career will be just fine after this.
My FAVORITE clip of him was with the guy who said his wife this he's crazy. And Klepper said no she"s crazy to think anyone would sleep with U. And the "caught off guard" look he gave was Priceless!! 😆😅😂🤣

It's not taught well enough in schools (not in my experiance atleast). Students should learn and be tested on their ability to spot credible sources. I did not take a dedicated program like that untill I was in college. (I call it a program because it was only a month long thing but passing was required for graduation)

@@garyberger9257 unless all the trolling comments on literally any channel that doesn’t subscribe to far right “logic” are paid to shitpost all day(which some certainly are) , a lot of them already know who he is and they want to be on tv so , as the American way goes, they sacrifice their dignity for a little air time.
I remember when the internet was supposed to lead to this great future, the information super highway. Turns out it’s led to people seeking out whatever information supports their beliefs, whether it’s true or not.

Hats off to Jordan Klepper for bringing us these dispatches from the MAGA edge. Outwardly, he always maintains a witty, light touch, but he certainly makes it clear how serious the issues at the core of his reporting are. Make no mistake, Klepper is a serious journalist.
