@@tabethapacion7137 America was nuts long before Trump and it will be, long after. I think it's mostly due to two factors. It's a relatively young country and the cold war really messed with their shared perceptions. A large portion of the population rejects any form of socialism at face value because "communism bad", not understanding that left-wing vs right-wing is a delicate balance and swinging too far either way breaks a country.
No matter what economic system we operate under, absolute wealth equality is infeasible. So there will always be people who are richer than others and people who are poorer than others. Their interests clash due to the variations in their circumstances. That is what left-wing vs right-wing is really about. If you say "fuck the rich" and go full left-wing they'll take their wealth and invest it somewhere else. If you say "fuck the poor" and go full right-wing, you get lots of crime and lots of civil unrest.
A stable country is one where there is willing compromise between the two. A democracy is a country that values each citizen equally. That's why they all get a vote, and why (not in the US with their electoral college) all votes are worth the same. So in a democracy, the left/right balance is decided by wealth disparity and average wealth. People vote on which policies will benefit them. So poor people tend to vote socialist, rich people tend to vote capitalist and middle class flip flops depending on "which side is going too far".
But in the US, they had a huge crackdown on communism in the country throughout the cold war. So people who believed that the prosperity of a country is measured by how they treat those worst off were basically considered traitors. That became part of the cultural identity of the country and that's why they don't embrace socialist ideas like "state-run healthcare", "labour unions" and even the extreme basics like food banks and homeless shelters (social services that have existed for millenia) are contested water.
@@NLTops it wasn't just communism bad. It was all forms of leftism = bad, with no real reasoning. They just said "communism is bad, communists hate america" without providing any reason for people to think such, which leads to people like those seen in the video. They think that what they were told is true, but they don't know why and don't want to change their opinions to reflect the truth. This goes for quite a lot of stuff in life, really. Religion is a good example. With all respect, there is no factual evidence behind their being a god, people are just told there is a god as a child and those who do not bother fact checking it grow up believing this.
I really think all forms of systematically taught propaganda should be eliminated. I specifically remember being taught nationalism and patriotism at a very young age for no apparent reason. I was taught to think that the USA is a great country made by defying expectations and exploring what others didn't dare, when in reality it's quite the opposite and *always* has been.
Every one of them do that and they’re clueless tho their own contradiction against their “beliefs” about “Trump’s truths”! Hilarious and pathetic simultaneously.

Chances are they have a tire in the barn that they will give you, or they known someone that does. If you couldn't fix it until next day they would feed you a damn all organic meal. They can cook too. They would give you a place to stay. Next day they would help you get you tire and send you off with a picnic basket for your tirp. The country folk are some of the nicest people.

If the truck is full of sugar then that's slightly closer but still coincidence. If the truck is hauling insulin now you have Irony.
