Thanks! We were able to find a lot of damage in a house we just bought. We put up videos of the damage and will be documenting how we fix it. We are just DIY homeowners.
Glad I’m not the only one that thought this took way too long to tell us 3 warning signs. And they are warning signs that we might not see, and if we actually do see them it might be too late. Thanks!
Summary: 1. look for termite wings 2. Southern U.S. is more likely because of humidity. Starts in basement or cellar. Look for mud tubes. 3. Hardest to spot. Wood damage.
My landlord continues to say that the type of termites we have don't require a tent. The wood frames in the house are rotten. They come out at night between 7pm and 9pm After a 14 hour day of work. Wings are ferocious as well as their dead ant and maggot looking bodies. They are everywhere. I'm in South Florida. Landlord has sent someone to spray 3x and NOTHING is working. Please help with any advice
Drywood termites don't necessarily require tenting. There are plenty of ways to treat drywood termites without tenting. Also, tenting has no residual effect. It might, I say might, kill what's there, but there are no guarantees and it has zero preventative effect to future infestations.
Can you hear box elder bugs in the walls? What do they sound like? I’ve seen elder bugs in our house from time to time so wondering if that’s what it is.
Good info. It would have been super helpful if you could add a photo or two at each point. Like what do termite wings look like? What do those mud tubes look like? Thanks for info.
I noticed you didn’t mention dust like wood shavings in the corner outside of cabinets?. Is that termites. Is there someway to get rid of those without an exterminator?
Absolutely! Despite the dry climate, Arizona does have significant termite issues. Regular inspections and preventive treatments are crucial to protect your property.
I just told them that if they stay they need to pay rent! They didn’t like that and complained that they are termites and have no access to rent money. That’s too bad! Then you aren’t allowed access to my apartment! I haven’t seen a termite in my apartment since! Just charge them rent!! They will stay away…
Termites typically thrive in moist environments, so drying out their habitat can indeed discourage their presence. However, it's best to consult a pest control expert for effective termite management.
My bed is in the corner of my room and right on the wall next to it I noticed a few months ago 2 small holes like the ones that form when you nail something into the wall. Months later on my wall there is 14 holes, some of which are too small for nails to fit in. Do I have termites?
gregmpalumbo yes. I was wondering what the wings and where they come from? Bcuz windows close si im wondering how come every morning more wings. And the little droplets now from the burrowing looks like dry yeast
How about some actual photos so we now what it is your talking about looks like
I was just thinking the same damn thing!
Yes...give us some visuals!
Video gets the dislike for the LACK of help
only reason I came was for pics or a video of a actual infestation
@anthony patterson I did and this came up.
If it's "too late" then they aren't exactly *warning signs*. They're "too late" signs, whatever that means.

Some photos would have been appreciated.

You know, if you showed some examples of termite tubes, I betcha that would be better than you describing it.

Depends on where you live .most are subterranean unless you live in a warm coastal area where you could have drywood termites that need tenting
He's letting the termites damage his home 🤦🏾♂️ He'll feel it in the long run, financially... Spraying won't help

Box elder bugs don't typically make noise in walls. If you're hearing sounds, it might be worth investigating further.
This was very informative...especially the part about the wings...
Glad to help!
If there is wood dust than you have termites I live in apartment and I see wood dust but there hasn't been seeing new dust
Good info. It would have been super helpful if you could add a photo or two at each point. Like what do termite wings look like? What do those mud tubes look like? Thanks for info.
Great suggestion! We are looking to include photos in an upcoming video. Thanks!!

Probably have "Carpenter Ants", if you are seeing dust piles...
It could be drywood termite grass if you live in a warm coastal area
@@MF-le7fp that is likely, look for leaks or wet wood nearby
@@michaelmerck7576 Thanks
you know it’s bad when they’re flying up in your face in the middle of the. ight
Did you fix the problem?
They wouldn't be likely to swarm at night
No pictures nullifies this presentation
arizona is dry and they have huge termite issues there.
Absolutely! Despite the dry climate, Arizona does have significant termite issues. Regular inspections and preventive treatments are crucial to protect your property.
I would have really appreciated pictures so we know what we're looking for...
We appreciate that feedback, and we are planning an updated video with pictures in the future!
I have said this for over 45 years, North subterranean, South drywood, two different treatments.
I'm south and we only have subterranean. I was told dry wood are on the coasts
Not really accurate... Some locations also have both.
Eastern Subterraneans and Formosan in the south mainly.
If I cut the body off of them do they still live or is that just flying ants because I’m trying to figure out what I have inside my house
That is not the case with termites. Consulting a pest professional to identify and address the issue is your best bet!
Off topic but nice brows 👍🏼
Very informative. Thank You.
The more I learn about termites the less I care for them.

Putting termites on notice! Charging them rent seems to be a foolproof strategy;)
Some visual aids would help
Great info! Thanks
The living room has termites, my bedroom is above the living rooms, help :( good thing the exterminators are coming tomorrow

Nope
Order a termite treatment plan
Do they die off if the environment dries out?
