    Funny thing is I do plowing and blowing snow for a living in the winter. I just love it, it's almost therapeutic. My wife tells people that I get so excited when it starts to snow, that I'm like a new puppy that's about to wet the floor. Well she not far from wrong.

    I would agree, it would help to bring the engine rpm up a little. It doesn't look like your throwing the snow very far. 90 hp tractor should be sending that snow 75 ft or more. Curious what is your rpm in this video?

  • @stargatepepsi

    That's because your using the shoot it is restricting the flow of snow. If your blower has a bail unit you should use it. It's the drum underneath the shoot it rotates left to right and it will fire the snow 3 times the distance

    rear plows are ok, these units only have 540 rpm PTO too slow, this comes with a front bucket attachment so you buy a front plow the mounts with quick disconnect hydraulics and mounting pins and you will have a pump that will give 1000 rpms and more flexibility, most front mount blowers are max of 6 feet wide which is ok, they are still far more productive than rear mounts and as one reader said it is far more ergonomic and safer for the operator to use without neck strain and able to handle this 3 kilometre driveway much easier. good video

If that tractor struggled a garden tractor you'd be there all day.

    Very impressive. I know that this will not help for the first pass. Have you thought about putting on some knives on the edges? Very easy to do. Get some straight 1/4 x 2 inch stock and drill some holes and mount it at about 30 degrees. let it stick out about 2 to 3 feet. Makes second pass much easier. Look at the big boys, this is how they do it. I know, I use to run one.

      Not to mention the extra cost of the blower...but they are cool

    • @MJ12283
      @MJ12283 6 лет назад +4

      The front mount blower for my tractor was twice the cost of the 3-point blower. And, with the 3-point blower, you still get to have your front end loader, which can come in handy.

    • @zfilmmaker
      @zfilmmaker 6 лет назад

      @@MJ12283 You got that right! I couldn't believe how much more. Last year I sold my Deere tractors and switched to Fendt. I ordered all of them with front PTO's. I also sold my Deere HX20 mower to my neighbor, so after shopping mowers I decided to buy Schulte. They also make blowers which made my Deere rear mount look like junk. I decided to sell it which oddly sold for practically what I paid new. I did take care of it, I power wash my blower and snow wing and spray them with used hydraulic oil so they don't rust in summer. A 20 year used blower selling for almost new is absurd. Anyway, nothing prepared me for the sticker shock of the Schulte RDX-117. Last year we had a 17", 33" and 19" snow storms and I never missed having a loader, in fact I only used my HLA snow wing once.

    It keeps saying "Comment failed to post" when I reply to your question so I'll post it as a new comment. The 4610m has a similar 3 cylinder to the 4609m, but tuned to 99 hp instead of 90, and 80 PTO hp instead of 72. I was planning on getting the 4609m but I wanted the Deluxe cab for the LED lights (much brighter) and the dealer only had that cab on the 4610m. My driveway is 1/2 mile up a mountain without street lights and a cliff on one side, so I wanted the extra lights. As a result, I was able to order the bigger snow thrower without concern about power.

    • @tarnation356
      @tarnation356  7 лет назад +2

      Nice!! that's sweet. ya I love my massey. it came with a nice cab and LED lights on the front and back, that are as bright as ball park lights so maybe I got lucky. but ya I understand your situation and I think you'll do good with that tractor.. also it starts really good in the cold.. like I never plug it in and it starts in (-10c or +12F) first try.

      the beep is the tractor telling me to stop riding the clutch. but I don't want it to stall and I've got it in high revs so the snow will throw faster and farther but that makes me go to fast in reverse so . it is what it is ..

      Tar Nation My 4608 has that same beep, but I decided that even though it happens when I'm standing on the clutch, it's actually the seat sensor yelling at me for getting off the seat while in gear. Try keeping more weight on the seat while clutching. It's tricky but the beep will stop.

    • @tarnation356

    I'm just curious, why do you wait until you get that much? I would think it would be much easier on the machine if you went out and cleared when you have a foot or 2, not to mention it would probably actually take less time.
