Many thanks Al.
You've just saved my bacon on a job just now. Can't turn off the water but this toilet happens to have that syphon. Thanks for taking the time to make this
No problem Joe.
Been using your videos on and off for many years . Finally got round to making a comment. Videos are great really informative and easy to follow. Keep them coming WELL DONE
Awesome, thank you!
Thank you Al, great tip!
I wonder why all siphon units aren't all like that now?
Cuts out so much hassle.
love the internet, so many people sharing useful information. Thanks for the upload
Thanks so very much. Saved us the expense of a plumber
No problem.

This isn't a "how to" but a product review
Thanks Al. Clear and inspired me to do it myself.
***** That's great good luck with it. Al.
I think you will find that most of the cheap ones do not split Ken , only the more expensive ones.
Regards,
al.
Thanks Al, much appreciated sir
No problem.
show us how to remove the tank bolts, when they are inaccessible?
I have another video on that.
Hi Al, being as your videos have been a great help to me in the past (thank you), I was hoping you may be able to help me with a long-standing problem with the flush on our toilet. My husband is a very reluctant DIYer and usually have to fix things myself. The cistern is about 25 years old and has always been difficult and heavy to push down and it has taken its toll on my palm and wrist!!! Would it be possible to adjust it to make it easier to push down on the lever please? Or maybe I should just accept defeat and get in a man who can, ugh!!
Lilylibra If you adjust the water level in the cistern as high as it can go without overflowing, the flush will be easier, as not much pressure needs exerting on the handle, to get the water down into the syphon and get it flushing. You could other wise renew the flush syphon. I have a video on how to change one. Al.
Cheers, except i still have to dismantle to fit this.
Sorry.
Not your fault. 50 yr old plumbing.

hi Al is there a video actually showing how to install this & remove the old one? My dual flush siphon doesn't look like either of the ones in your video & I would like to replace mine which is broken with this one if possible
Yes I have a video on how to do the complete job.
I thought that the Turbo 88 was primarily for levered systems. Put one in a dual button flush system and you will have a right old game trying to flush away the doo doos lol
Please, How do I put a handle on the stop valve without getting frustrated with the screw driver that can't turn it on and off?
You will have to renew the valve.
My Syphon works fine but it's not very tall, I need to increase amount of water in tank so flush clears toilet better (keeps blocking). However the Syphon isn't high at all, no where near the over flow! I need to raise the flush stop/float which I know how to do but it will mean the water will go higher than the Syphon is that no good or fine to do? Help please!
Hi no the water level must not be higher than the top of the syphon. You really need a taller one sounds like the wrong one was fitted.
Hi there Al. Thanks for that valuable tip. £20 seems like a good investment to me. ATB
21centurycaveman No problem. Al.
always nice videos ! i’ve got a cistern by porcellanosa in has a lid that is held down by the twin flush button . there are two slotted screws at the bottom of the porcelain cistern. i assume these are attaching the cistern to the bowl. the inlet valve is coming through the bottom of the cistern. the re are no access to the bolts / pipes from underneath . the we pan is attached to the floor i assume there are two holes one on either side of bottom of pan probably a recessed allen bolt affair. can’t see any bolt in there maybe the pan is just held to floor with silllicon… question i’m assuming by all of the above i will have to access the back nut of the siphon by removing the cistern… in order to do this i will have to turn off main- no service valve visible then detach the bowl from the floor and remove the whole toilet from the wall to replace the back nut bayonet assembly to fit a new siphon….. i can’t find a siphon that will just fit into the existing siphon bayonet
No you will have to dismantle as you have said.
@@dereton33 many thanks for the reply your videos are very helpful over the yrs🫡🫡
Misleading title
Is it okay to use this syphon on Roca cistern ? Thanks Dereton .
Yes should be fine.
It looks as if you are fitting this syphon to a dual flush setup with no side handle. Is this possible?

will these produce a BIGGER flush? Our toilet fails to get rid of toilet paper every flush - rubbish!
Yes much better.
The jolliest person in the world, has the least amount of responsibilities, and has lived this way for the longest time. That's why the bathrooms in our condo have quiet flush electric toilets :)
Thanks Al ! - Based on your recommendation I bought one - As you suggest it can be a swine of a job.
+1954BJohn . Yes unfortunately.
This is for a handle toilet not a push button one?????
That's right.
Excellent video Al, I have a question for you. My toilet is an Ideal Standard one, are the fittings at the base of the syphon the same size, is it a standard size on all syphons? I know the hole for the handle fitting is smaller because I had to buy a replacement on the internet when it broke. The toilet itself is original to when the house was built 30 years ago
Yes that bag nut on the bottom is standard size.
@@dereton33 Thanks Al, I appreciate you taking time out to reply. I'm not sure if the turbo 88 will fit mine, I measured the height of the one fitted and it is 11 inches from the bottom to the crease in the domed top, the highest this syphon goes I think is 9.5 inches.
In that case have a look for a longer reach one.
Didn't provide the information I wanted.
Try someone else. I don`t have all the answers.
Most split in that place these days. No need to buy the expensive one unless you wish to have the dual flush IMO.

This is just an advert...doesn't actually 'show' you anything
There is a link on showing how to fit it. Read the description first.
@@dereton33 Come on mate...the main title says this: "How to renew the flush syphon without removing the cistern" yet in the video it actually shows you nothing whatsoever on that subject. Might as well have titled it "An advert with links in the description to other videos that show you the thing you actually want to see"...
Was this supposed to be easy!? My partner called our son to help, he then called me, he then called a couple of friends! Finally after much contemplation, it was fixed.
naila atif No worries you did it and saved your self a packet on getting a plumber in. Al.
So how do you fit that one ??? Oh yes you have to remove cistern !!! Change the title very misleading
I have another video on how to change it. This was purely an information video.
Hi Al
I have the same Syphon system as you . Will that Dudley system fit in that toilet. Is the Syphon you have in your house serviceable as mine keeps running all the time .
It will fit ok and because it splits it is quite serviceable.
Hello sir, so atm my syphon has a snapped piston, iv got the new one to replace it, do I HAVE to remove my cistern to change it or is there a trick of the trade I can use to change it without removing all the nuts and bolts etc??
Only if it is the type of syphon that can split in the cistern, otherwise you have to take the cistern off the wall.
Another very helpful video so thank you but just a suggestion where perhaps you are showing something like this but put the product on a surface and then video it as in this case the camera was moving but so was the product so it made it harder to see but thanks again.
I have learned a lot since this video was made.
Thanks I need to replace macdee syphon 9inch will Dudley syphon part will fit
No you will have to fit the whole thing.
Hi. I need to replace the siphon on a high level cistern attached to the wall about 7 ft above the loo. Is there an easy way to do this or do I have to turn off the water and empty the cistern and remove it? There is no isolation valve o the water supply pipe.
You will need to turn off the water and empty the cistern of water before changing it.
@@dereton33 Thanks again. Always reassuring to get expert advice first. Does the new siphon come with a seal of any sort or can i reuse the one in place?
Thank you for the tip and id of product. However, I presume I still have to take the cistern off the wall to get rid of the old/faulty one before I can fit this one? Is that right?
Yes.
But your video say “without removing cistern” ???
That sython wont work in a push button toilet. You wasted my time.. plumbingparts videos well better..
I highly recommend plumbing parts he is a good man.
dereton33 fair play, we appreciate all the help we can get when learning. Your video did contain some useful information. Hope you're good, you seem like a good chap.
As good as I can be J P.
Advert - ono help at all
Without removing the cistern????
The thing sitting on the back of the pan.
Lol I know where the cistern is. I am a fan but the title is a bit misleading
