I lost my wife to cancer 8 years ago and have suffered in silence with all the mental issues it causes . ive just watched the 3 seasons of Afterlife and it helped me bring out all the built up feelings and emotions that i struggled to do 8years ago . The most beautiful story ive ever watched . I cried and laughed at the same time . love your work Ricky . x

I just sat and watched the entire season last night. I lost someone dear to me few years back, i lived last few years weeping and in depression and not caring much for anything and anyone and i have lost that interest to get along and move forward. I was not even seeking help and i was lonely and somehow deep down i felt miserable about what i did and how i did. I cannot thank Ricky enough for writing and making this, deep down we are there in every character this series has, We are one Kathy, we are one brain, we are the postman. The ending of Season 3 was indeed changed my perspective. Live, be good and kind. Thank you Ricky and everyone involved in the making.

@@oscarholmes1069 That's not because Steve isn't talented and doesn't have fantastic chemistry with Ricky. Bar Ricky and Karl Pilkington, his and Ricky's chemistry is the greatest for each. They simply don't have the same desires anymore.
There's an interview on RUclips with Ricky, Steve, and Karl in which Ricky says that he wants to do more podcasts, Steve wants to do "more proper stuff, like The Office", and Karl doesn't want to do any more podcasts because he's already done them.
It is disappointing to know that raw, honest and heartfelt shows are close to extinction. Then I see this, and it makes my day. A remarkable piece of work. Excited for this season.

Its so close to my own life, its unreal!!! I thought that the first Series was so brilliant 😁, but the second and the third were amazingly BRILLIANT, AWARD WINNING PICE OF ART. I was on a roller coaster of emotions, from sad, happy to crying to suicidal (I'm good don't panic), to laughing with joy, then crying with happiness then crying from being sad and depressed...
Ricky Gervase, I'm just a working class man, and I really hope you keep up your amazingly brilliant art. That means so much to me and millions of other people like all the cast members out there.

It was his character Toney, who had lost his soul m8 , his other half that completed him, the love of his life, and she was his life and his world , that's real pal, then he lost her to cancer, also real, then he was greiving, angry, depressed, guilty, lashing out and suicidal!!! That my friend is REAL LIFE!!!
I DON'T KNOW IF YOUR VERY YOUNG, OR OLDER, BUT I DONT THINK YOU HAVE any life expireance off when you meet your soul m8 , the person who loves everything about you and learns to deal with any habits they don't like, because if your lucky enough to meet that special one you will hang on as tight as you can and fight for everything. Cancer is a battle that 7/10 times you won't , no sorry can't win.
Please, I implore you to watch again? Watch for the story of the Scorpian and the Frog! He is the frog, because even in his deepest darkest moments he will still help others , he puts himself to one side.

Just watched after life 3, absolutely loved it. Such a tough subject to us all , it touches you on so many levels. Glad i watched it on my own though. I'm a 63 year old ' hairy arsed truck driver and blubbed like a 3 year old. Thank you Ricky and all your team for making us really feel emotional and happy at the same time.

For me this series is very personal.. I went through loss very early in life, and Ricky Gervais doesn't sell it, he's a master craftsman, brilliant series
Honestly ricky can be dumb sometimes like all of us. But he's a fantastic smart man and the series was fantastic 10/10 from me. Hope you enjoyed it bro

It hasn't depressed me, I was already depressed, losing a partner to cancer does that... This show has broke me. By that i mean made me very emotional... I think it's helped kick the mourning process, I've been stuck in a rutt... Yesterday i posted a thankyou on twitter, today the responses and love i received was amazing

I lost my mum at a young age, I was young and she was young. Grief never really goes away completely but it does become easier to cope with. I would say it also strengthens your character with a deeper sense of compassion for the wellbeing of others. This series is a comedy masterpiece like no other. I've never laughed so hard one minute and then felt the overwhelming, unbearable emotional pain in some of Ricky's scenes the next.

Of course it has some funny bits but overall it is a very poor, ridiculous, easy, lazy effort. People fall for it and I really don't understand why. It's cheesy, cringe and predictable.

Was never really a big fan of Ricky's on till I watched this series.. Absolutely brilliant. Laughed and cried a lot. He's a genius..
Laughs, sadness, regrets and love. Just real life (Afterlife) really. Going to binge on this. Ricky's character development gets better with each series. You really care about them. The cast is perfect. The last few minutes of season 2 brought me to tears.
Don't ever stop! Now this has ended, I'm looking forward to whatever else is floating around in that brain of his.

Thank you Mr. Gervais. I started watching your series while looking for something to make me laugh and bring up my spirits. It was not what I expected. My wife of 40 years passed away June 25th 2021and I'm still in that void. Not one day has gone by that I haven't sat crying, thinking about ending it all. I just finished season 3 and "After Life" has changed my thinking for the better. If I pull through this, I want you to know that you played a major part in bringing me out of that void. Again, I thank you, from the bottom of my heart.

No spoilers, I binged the entire season 3, and had to stay up extra late as I had had to recover from the ending. I went through half a box of tissues 🥲. While it wasn’t the end I had hoped for, it was all very well done. You’re an excellent writer and actor Ricky, such real feelings, emotions. I truly loved Afterlife, all 3 seasons, it has been a rarity to have something like that to look forward to. I look forward to your next project, because whatever it will be, will whether comedy or bittersweet as this was, will be the absolute best, a gift. God bless you and yours, Ricky. Thank you.

I watched all season 3 in one day. So many work and only one day of joy, and cry... But was worth it. Thank you, Ricky and all others. Knowing that some people go through the same shit about life and death is really useless, yet a bit comforting... So far, that was best gift this year for my birthday, two days before the premiere. Please, play more, Ricky! You're such a great treat for the poor in faith yet reach with nuggets. :-)

I lost my husband and recently went through my own breast cancer ordeal - double mastectomy & months and months of chemo, so this show seemed as though it was made just for me. I can't thank Ricky Gervais enough for taking me along on Tony's journey through it all. I love the message it gives also. To just be kind. We're all here going through something and should treat others as we'd like to be treated.

I've never been a fan of Ricky Gervais but After Life is pure genius. Such clever writing resulting in every emotion from laughter to messy, snot laden sobbing. I binge watched the previous 2 series very recently for the first time and was profoundly moved. Can't wait for this series.

I found this series on Netflix while searching for UK series to practice my accent. It's so healing, and down to earth. I've been having mental issues for months since graduation and this series encourage me to get better somehow. Like, yes, this man has people care for him and all that stuffs but he's still sad. I kinda feel guilty because no matter how many advices I get from others, deep down inside I'm falling apart, and I can't just wake up and change my life immediately (like other movies (no offense)), and Tony is the only character I relate deeply to. And the songs are just wonderful! Thanks Ricky and his coworkers for creating this masterpiece

The saddest part is that there'll not be another series.

I watched series 3 yesterday and it was very good. For a comedian, he certainly writes some deep stuff.
My daughter complained that the episodes are not long enough and that there aren't enough of them. Which is clearly what they meant when they said, always leave your audience wanting more.

Being a complete skin flint I have only just joined Netflix in order to see 'After life'.
Binge watched all 3 series, absolutely brilliant, so full of happiness and sadness, you laugh and cry at the same time. I am so impressed with all of the characters who seem to reflect everyday life, I can see characters I know , Oh yes. Thank you Ricky for constructing a brilliant series . The end was particularly poignant. Nothing more to say than excellent and thank you.
