You can sort of do it now by making a second story, deleting half of the floor so the “lofted space” is open to the lower level. But I get that it’s not the same.

Friendly warning : Guys, dont be too happy..the update is out on 10th and i downloaded. Nightmare starts. Game keeps crashing without any specific condition. I disable all my CC and uninstall ReShade, i delete localthumbscache file, and restart game. At first everything works back on, then i enable my mods 1 by 1, game still going fine. I tested by playing various households in various Worlds. Make my sim Travel other worlds and going to work (Get to Work pack). All running fine. Real nightmare : game CRASH again when im playing my vampires in Forgotten Hollow world. My CC and Reshade is working fine in W/Creek, O/Spring/ Newcrest. Only F/Hollow crash my game. Sometimes it crash after few minutes playing, sometimes 10min up. I checked on internet and found out there are a lot players experiencing crash like me. No help from anywhere yet because the update patch still new.
Question and a bit of a rant: I built a fabulous room using platforms and since it's so fabulous I want to share it to the gallery as a room. Now to rant/question: WHY IS THE PLATFORM PART OF THE ROOM (IF IT'S CONNECTED TO A WALL) A SEPARATE ROOM?!?! that means I cannot upload my build as one room!
I tried something but i'm not sure if it works each time. I build the platform smaller than what I want and I put the walls around according to the room shape where I want the platform. Then I pull the platform' sides with the arrows to fit the room. Now I have the walls of my room with my platform. I'm just testing the thing, I'm just playing the add-on snowy escape right now, I know nothing about it. I hope it will help you and sorry for my bad english, i'm french. ;) PS : it's an issue I had for the second room I built in my house but not for the first one... I don't know why.
Every time I try building platforms it won’t let me put doors on the walls. It’s says it can’t intersect walls and there aren’t any walls intersecting.. so confused..
This is amazing , now I just need features for apartment buildings to be completely satisfied with the sims 4(build mode) like being able to build more than 4 floors , change the residential type, a way to divide spaces for different households... I would think that is asking too much but, this should´ve come with city living or university. besides, I think that by now they have shown us that when they want to improve the features they can do incredible things, it´s just a matter of actually wanting to add stuff.
@@rae5602 That would be a really cool feature! I really hope they add something like that in one of the net expansion packs. I'm not satisfied with the werewolves. I have a love hate relationship with that. It unsettles me to know that a human can woohoo with a wolf.
I Dont think they made the mechanics for it to work but I was thinking the same thing.. I would love to create stairs and a shallow pool, safer for kids maybe.

Now this has done, how about spiral staircase. And don’t argue that it would be impossible when it isn’t. There are many other things that you have said to be impossible, well, the players have solved them. They have done the work you should have done. So it is not impossible. Hard maybe, but NOT IMPOSSIBLE!
I’m totally appreciative of this new feature! As far as the lighting for the sunken rooms, I just built another room over it, automatically creating a roof over it. So it became an indoor room. This especially worked for my cabin build.
Problem is it then breaks your roofs, deletes your walls, counts itself as a new room and is not fixable from what I can see. And then you can’t even paint then how you want. Sims 3 handled this just fine with the constrain floor elevations cheat code with none of the downsides. More trouble than their worth
Idk why but that isn't working properly. I tried to do that so my sim can get into it's house but in both ways I tried it either gets rid of the walls or the platform automatically becomes the same height as the other one. What do I do? I don't want to get rid of my house bc I spent a full day on it... but the whole platform only being white (it won't change, I can only see all white even if I do the change platform trim thing) and it looks ugly with my house since it's more of a haunted house vibe. Somebody please tell me what to do!!!!!!!!!(side note: don't recommend videos, this was the only thing that was relevant so I only clicked it bc of that. I prefer articles/written step by step. I'm ND and I can't comprehend videos as well as words the vast majority of the time. Plus, it annoys me on a deeper level than almost anything when I have to pause mid-song. I already can't function without music. If somebody could help I would greatly appreciate it!!!)

so... this may be a stupid question, but say I build a 2story house and use the platform to lower the floor on the groundlevel into the basement... could I use a platfprm on the floor above and lower that too? to create a half-basement?

I will NEVER be able to make my dreamhouse in the sims :( You can't put windows where the platformes are, so doesnt work that way either... Why is it called a platform? A platform have air under it, this doesn't... (at least that is part of the deffinition where I come from)

My game won't load until I "repair" Sims 4 in Origin and then refresh Origin each time I want to play. My poor, old computer can't take much more of this, and the new computer won't even try to load Origin. #FirstWorldProblems That said, I'm excited about this new feature now that my game mostly works again!

The possibilities of using the platforms to create stairs/outside fancy things is also limited by the fact that they cannot be placed next to foundations (same issue as when you try to put different level rooms next to each other). They only sink into the edge of the foundation, they can't be used as a "lower foundation". You will have to go and replace the entire foundation by a platform, probably increasing the level height to make it useable and start from there. I do however love the feature and am itching to try it out! :)
I’m stuck building a house where I have platforms for elevations inside but my house also has a raised indoor pool which also runs outdoors. You can not place a pool on platforms but to have a raised pool you can place a pool on a “deck”. I’m really struggling to connect the house walls to the deck! Anyone have any suggestions?

@@Maxianaconda Showtime and get famous would be different things. Showtime in the sims 3 wasn't really about fame. If I remember correctly, fame came in a different pack in the sims 3. Showtime would be more about putting on a show for other sims; acrobats, magicians, and maybe bands.

We'll most likely get the update on Tuesday... as updates usually come on Tuesdays before a pack release!

You can add the platforms around the pool like first building the pool and then raising the platform up.🤔but I hope they fix this before it releases

I'm a decent builder, but I don't get it. All i receive are errors. I place them as a split level, but you can't build the connecting room.
