@@hi6575 They DID comment on the design aspects, constantly, throughout the entire video. I’ve been into architecture since 5 and something that really helps me in building in Minecraft is scaffolding and smooth stone or just stone, it’s like setting the foundation and then adding the layout for it which makes it much easier if you don’t have a pencil and paper within arms reach (At 5 I had to draw my building plans since that’s when Minecraft was newer and we didn’t even have bamboo yet, btw I started playing Minecraft at 3 just so I don’t confuse anybody, I was 3 in 2013)
One thing that’s a genuine interesting question to me is how the needs of a Minecraft world fundamentally change architecture- the needs for nether portals, chest rooms, etc etc
I think you would've been a lot more intrigued with some of the Hermits' builds. They're a group of players on a designated server and most of them focus either on building or redstone, a more technological side of Minecraft. Their builds are usually very detailed, very interesting and, later into the game, very big. I think you would've been impressed. Keralis is probably the one who builds the most realistic things out of all of them, BDouble0 (not sure about the exact spelling, but you should find him with this) is great at making nice interior designs in tight spaces, Grian is just, well, Grian. Either way, the whole server is littered with great buildings, realistic and fantastic, that I think you should check out if you were to do a part two of this. They're not representative of the majority of Minecraft builders but as some of the best, I think they could be interesting for this.
I think it would be nice to let them try to build themselves (probably give them one experienced minecraft player who can give them some tips and tricks how to achieve effects they want to get). It would be fun to look at their approach to building.

Their unfamiliarity with the game is what makes their reactions fascinating to me, and it's something I'm glad no one took the time to explain the nuance to them, because their first reaction and interpretation using their lifetime of career knowledge and experience as an older generation means so much to me. I LOVE seeing a little sliver of how their brains work and as someone who is neither good at architecture nor building cool things in minecraft, it never would've occurred to me to think of matching climate to architecture, or that in a virtual world these architects would prefer the imaginary to the realistic. It has me thinking of how minecraft architects prioritize certain things over others vs their real life counterparts, and i didn't expect that they wouldn't be impressed by certain builds' features. I love how they call the nether portal a TV lmao. But we need them to react to more experienced builders like those in hermitcraft. Maybe get them to react to the season 7 map
Interior designers react to some of the housings in Final Fantasy 14.
that would be dope
That was awesome! Hahaha great video I love it! I'd love to see more of these for my builds!
Me too😍😍
Ey bro I'm abig fan
these guys are so negative and have no idea how hard it is to build this 😭
Same could be said for them, they have to figure out if it’s gonna hold, and the right material to use.
Probley cause they dont do it not everyone plays minecraft
you are right dude i spent 2 hours just to a small a house 😏
No no no bring these two back and make them play the game! I would love to see what they would create. They sound incredibly knowledgeable in their careers i wanna see how it translates in game.
This isn't just them reacting to Minecraft builds, but essentially eviscerating the game as a whole.
"omg it's block's"
yes, sherlock. this floor is made of floor.
They're people who haven't played the game and given the simple instruction of applying their professional opinion. They weren't even being hateful. Fucking relax mate.
They don’t play video games they called the nether portal a tv give em a break
@@xecillmaze4740 Definitely not a big deal but a little disappointing I was hoping they’d maybe talk about creative applications with limited materials and stuff.
So it’s a little lame when the only comments they seem to make is “oh this could never work in real life”. Yes but I was hoping to see comments about organics or something.
Unless this video isn’t actually targeted at people who play the game. And it’s not entirely the fault of these commentators but on the channel/production team for not preparing them so that they might be more insightful.
@@xecillmaze4740 yes but when it’s a video game these things should be obvious to them. Take one look at anything Minecraft related and you should be able to realize it is made of pixelated blocks. Nobody really wants to hear them make the same jokes about the environment or how things wouldn’t structurally work irl. They should comment on the design aspect as well.
@@hi6575 They DID comment on the design aspects, constantly, throughout the entire video. They commented on how everyone relied heavily on symmetry, preferred modern designs because those were easier to accommodate the "blockiness," on how dark wood or block looked odd paired with other design choices, on how the hotel looked like a modern "modular" hotel, on how certain builds didn't fit their environment, etc. etc. You're only hearing the "negative" comments because that's all you want to hear.
10:52 People are actually building a 1:1 scale version of the world in Minecraft, it's called the Build The Earth project.
Calling the nether portal a “disco TV” was the best part of this video
I’ve been into architecture since 5 and something that really helps me in building in Minecraft is scaffolding and smooth stone or just stone, it’s like setting the foundation and then adding the layout for it which makes it much easier if you don’t have a pencil and paper within arms reach
(At 5 I had to draw my building plans since that’s when Minecraft was newer and we didn’t even have bamboo yet, btw I started playing Minecraft at 3 just so I don’t confuse anybody, I was 3 in 2013)
One thing that’s a genuine interesting question to me is how the needs of a Minecraft world fundamentally change architecture- the needs for nether portals, chest rooms, etc etc
@4:24 the way he built the pool table was very clever!
Love how they thought the nether portal was a television screen.
I would love to see this on Hermitcraft or Empires SMP builds
You could put a Portal to Hell in their homes and they'd be like "thanks for the TV"
I don't care if they don't have a clue about minecraft, I still love their professional takes on these builds
GRAIN IS AWSOME! I ENJOY HIS BUILDS ON SERVERS LIKE HERMITCRAFT MOST
I think it would be nice to let them try to build themselves (probably give them one experienced minecraft player who can give them some tips and tricks how to achieve effects they want to get). It would be fun to look at their approach to building.
I’d love if they played Minecraft and see what they build
As a person who plays Minecraft regularly, this was awesome to watch! I love the progression from "wtf is this" to "I would visit there".
Would love to see you guys react to other Minecraft builders like TrixyBlox’s and Philza’s builds. They’re so good!
8:55 When they said they were missing the simetry I thought; they should see the Minecraft buildings of Vegetta777, an Spanish youtuber who studied arquiteture and its obsessed with simetry and does amazing houses
Can we take a momanr to appreciate how perfectly he placed the glass panes?
3:38 LEGO MEN!?
8:10 thank you for inserting Wat Tham Suea footage 🙏🙏🙏
You can tell dude really got why Minecraft is fun haha. His demeanor changes drastically. Love it
It's very interesting to watch people who don't know what Minecraft is, to try and visual what certain things are such as the portal. I also love all the feedback!
Please have them react to some more videogame architecture! It would be nice to see them react to some outrageous building in gaming too
11:02 yes a RUclipsr named Pipenfts is doing earth 1:1 scale in Minecraft
they really didnt show them well known top tier builds thats crazy
“According to my expertise, that’s most definitely a house”
You should have them actually explore the place as well it’d be more interesting😎🔥🔥
I know I’m not the only one saying this, but I’d love to see them to react to more detailed or bigger builds. I don’t know many specifics, but Hermitcraft has some builds that not only a beautiful, but take inspiration from real architecture, such as the midnight alleyway.
Theres this one architect with the most realistic minecraft city, his name is Alpine in YT and I think that would be a great reaction for them.
They should react to vids of people building a mega base. Especially the ones where they have varying roofs and styles
I personally need more of this type of content, interesting to watch. Thanks for the video!
Architects play minecraft? I'd love to see what they create
We do yes 🙂
You're welcome to go check some of my detailed modern Builds out, I hope they impress!
I feel like minecraft can really be used in architecture with detail, it gives us a 3d view on the house and gives us a idea on how the structure will turn out personally i copy house's in real life into minecraft i love it.
I love their comment on symmetry tho. We do tend to make things perfectly 100% symmetrical when building
Ain’t no way we makin something circle shaped
@@richelieu5406 ???? Maybe I'm trying too hard to understand your comment but I just don't know what point you're trying to make. I can't tell if you think people don't like building round things in the game, or if you think it's not possible. But it definitely is, and it's a lot of fun. I've been pushing myself for awhile now to only build round structures whenever possible, and it opens up a world of new options that aren't possible when you stick to just square builds.
@@ninja_tony just making round things.
Possible, but sometimes hard..
Well for me at least :)
@@richelieu5406 what they meant is people build minecraft house is always the same symmetrical house, architects tend to make designs that stand out like pointy on the end and curvy walls on the other side of a building for example
@@raufwarith2197 Being symmetrical has nothing to do with curves or no curves. You could build a tower on one side of the house and it would be non-symmetrical, but most people in Minecraft prefer squares because it's easier
"Its like cubert stairs"
Brings back my childhood.
This should be a multi part series, they react to half decent basic builds using their expertise to dip their toes into the creativity of minecraft. Part 2 would be more advanced builds, part 3 would be them playing the game to get an idea of what minecraft builders have to work with and test their design backgrounds in a game made of blocks. Part 4 could be them reacting to insane builds.
YES! YEEEES!
Finally i love it, love seeing minecraft used for something like that! Builds! Redstone contraptions! I suck at it but love seeing it
I really liked the laid back but still filled with wonder vibe this video had lol
Please do a Part 2 and Include GoodTimesWithScar, PearlescentMoon, Grian and many other impressive builders' builds from community
I was thinking bdubs. If I'm not mistaken, he is an architect irl. Or used to be.
Love how they dont know half of the use of the builds and guess what its supposed to bee for in real life
"We destroyed some really ancient forests to build this" - minecraft
You know if you can find a good mountain, you can turn it into a really cool giant house with huge stairs going down the side straight to the ground.
Unfortunately I have lost the Minecraft world I did that in a long time ago.
I absolutely love how they approach these builds though!! I could watch this kinda stuff for hours. Experts are some of my favorite people for any field, no matter how niche. If i could hire these people, i absolutely would ☺️
I love how completely unfamiliar with Minecraft they are. 🤣 MC not be that good of a tool for teaching real world architecture, but I guarantee it's helped tens of thousands of kids develop an interest in the field.
that fact that they are able to make a guess as to where these mc builds would actually be irl is actually quite impressive.
The guy saying the builds revolve around symmetry is the most real thing Iv heard anyone say about minecraft because we all do it 😂
0:07 Pov peoples never seen minecraft before:👽
Should show them entire cities in minecraft, or old fantasy kingdoms, I'm sure they would think that is cool
I like how when they saw the one with the shaders they questioned the realistic water
Dang, I'm not the only one but yeah we wish they saw the more epic builds where ppl made castles and really vast buildings and epic city comparisons that would have been really cool w/ waterfalls, sky scrapers, etc.
I Love How Even Being Professionals, You Start To Warm Up To The Builds
