I really appreciate the work you did to present the test in such detail. It really helps. I would choose Look Ipe to refinish my cedar adirondack chairs and tables. Thank you
@@libtrs838 Why would I be dishonest about my own test? This video is not affiliated by any sponsor. I have used this product on my own project after this test. I did not pay special attention to show the same side of each test piece in the comparison videos, as this test is about the finish, not the wood itself. But still there are few pieces shown in the same faces, like Taupe in side-grain comparison. Also, from the end grain comparison, you can easily tell that they are the same test pieces.
@@SunridgeStudio Sorry for jumping to conclusions. Deleted comments to not mislead anyone. People sharing their info is generous and helpful. Your test helped me narrow down colors to look ipe and chocolate. Trying to decide now between Rubio hybrid, osmo decking oil, and Olympic elite woodland oil (what I have used in the past)
@@SunridgeStudio Great to hear. I have a wooden deck of about 600 square feet that i am considering using RMC. Maybe you can do a quick video showing the stairs after 9 months? that would be very helpfull.
@@SunridgeStudio I rewatched the Rubio diy video and they recommended a finish sanding with 100 grit fyi. Maybe that was why your cedar weathered worse than they would have if they were too smooth from the lumber yard. Just a thought.

Great work, great test. It shows the appearance of colors in all pains and sizes!
Thanks so much, this is very valuable information. I am most likely going to go with Charcoal.
This is so helpful. Thanks so much!
Great video! Lots of useful info.
I’m looking for a durable outdoor finish for a white oak gate.
Thank you! Cheers!

@@libtrs838 My motivation is very simple. To test if the product is durable and to test which color I like most for my own landscape projects.

Hi. Great Video. How does your landscape stairs hold up up? And how long has it been since applying RMC?
Thank you! It holds up very well. I applied RMC in last summer, about 9 months ago.

Sure. I just made a video about it. Here is the link.

@@SunridgeStudio great. Thanks
What grit did you sand the cedar blocks up to?
I did not sand them, as they are for outdoor purpose.

@@handymadness Thank you for the valuable suggestion!
@@SunridgeStudio sure thing. Appreciate your great video. We settled in look ipe for my cedar garage door, mostly thanks to your video.
