Great video. I recently got an Epiphone Les Paul Custom. It was a really good price and the 'Tuxedo' look, ebony fretboard and CTS pots really sold it to me. Sounds amazing too! Not a huge fan of Indian laurel. The only other non-signature model that has an ebony fretboard is the Les Paul Modern. They have weight relief and coil splitting too. All the best.
Thank you so, so much for making this video comparing the different types of Les Paul's. I've seen so many different types and had no clue, thank you!!
I recently bought a second-hand Custom in black, I was just blown away by the quality of this instrument. I aleeady have a 50s and 60s Gibson Les Paul but the Epiphone very much holds its own against them, the ProBucker pickups are so much better than those fitted in older Epiphone models.
I have the Sweetwater Epi Blueberry fade Les Paul Modern . It's a really good guitar with alot of options for tones. Also have the Epi 1955 Les Paul Custom outfit Limited reissue That's my secret weapon. Plays way beyond it's price. I got it when it came out and nows it's kinda collectible.
Mines a 2020 Studio in smokehouse burst. It doesn't have the coil taps of the latest Studios, which is definitely a different kind of sound worth having.
Custom is so comfortable and reasonable. I fell in love with it at a GC. Im gonna order one but im sooo torn about the color. I love both. I get pressure not to do the white tuxedo.
I got that Alpine White epi LP custom at Guitar Center Hollywood a few months $649 brand new out the door. Needed a guitar for E-flat standard and always wanted a LP style guitar. Slapped gold Gibson knobs, gold keystone Grover lock tuners, Gold Super Distortion bridge humbuckers, white with gold post Steve Morse neck humbucker, orange drop capacitors and push pull CTS posts with upgraded wire kit. Huge difference, sik guitar
Ive toured with epiphone LP customs an prophecy for yrs...top work horses..even dold my Gibson... prophecy is 2008/2012 v.1 dirty fingers pick ups, quilt top, blade inlay, sick guitar.even my Korea made white custom has held up..lowset action ive ever played
Excellent way of explaining the Epi line of Les Paul's--appreciated! We had a new faded 2018 Gibson Les Paul and it was studio grade perfect out of the box(well,it had a dry fretboard). When Epiphone re-shaped the new style head stock on the Les Pauls,we ordered a black custom. Pristine, perfect QC..amazing instrument. We added the same stock Gibson pups to the Epiphone and...we sold the Gibson. We fell in love with a Chinese neck;that guitar plays itself,it's so perfect. Salute from ATX
I think I p🎉referred the probucker 2-3 in that custom!! Maybe sounded a bit more even it is definitely very smooth sounding I don't dislike the 50s I can just see why someone would want the custom. Plus Randy Rhoads vibes all day
I’ve had the black custom for almost a year. It’s the cheapest guitar I own, yet still gets played at least once a week. Amazing craftsmanship (on mine at least), and surprisingly easy to play despite the gloss neck. It’s going to be in my collection for a while.
Super cool into. Been playing a strat and lately just acoustic. Writing rock and roll and want an electric with a little more weight/punch. Suggestions please for a humbucker guitar (moderate price)?
In a few moments, when you add some higher notes to the overdriven riff, they are much more audible on the Custom. I'm confused if there could be so significant differences between guitars, or is it just the articulation?
beginner player here: so first of all, im not ready to upgrade my epiphone les paul special 2 yet (still learning pretty hard on the moment) would a higher priced epiphone les paul be worth it? in what price class should i look when it comes to the epiphones... i know, gibson is the real deal, but im far from the real deal and the real money you have to pay for a gibson.. im just curious, would it be worth to upgrade from my 300 bucks special 2 to a 6 to 700 bucks epiphone les paul (standard, custom or what ever?) thanks!
Honestly for now - and especially if you're still learning just enjoy your guitar for what it is ! 700 bucks Les Paul have slightly better mics - and the rest is just cosmetics. It's not a huge difference at all so if I were you I'd keep on working by guitar, save up, and just hit a 1000 one that you love later on. And you do have a respectable Les Paul - so you could even explore other brands in the future ! Buying a 700 Epi Les Paul when you already have your special 2 isn't worth the buy I think. Also don't make any rushed decision based on online reviews. Always try and compare a guitar yourself in person. Same model can sound sometimes different.
@@rigodon97 thats sounds like great honest advice. i think im going to play this special 2 until it falls apart in a view years and then maybe buy a really nice 1000 bucks and up the range les paul. thanks!
Yes although they might not have been out at the time this video released. It doesn’t seem like you get the upgraded pots in the muse though, but the muse has phase controls which the studio does not.
Nah. To properly demo a guitar in a comparison video, we’ve found that you need to play the same lick on all of them to get an understanding of the tonal differences. All of our comparison videos are just like this.
That white custom is sick AF. ❤
Ive been playing Epiphones since 2006 and these new ones are the best yet.
That Studio sounds wicked split and driven!

Salute that! Our fave axe,Epiphone Custom in black. That Chinese black is a unique black...you know it when you see it
Excellent stuff! I wish more videos were this clear and informative. Thanks!
I agree. Cleared it up.

That intro was so epic I subscribed before watching the rest of the video! Rock on!

Just got this one too ! I find it hard to understand if the Alcino pickups are pro or not. Do you know ? Are you planning on modding them ?
Cool opening camera work
Thanks!

Same thing here
Can’t decide between the alpine white or limited blackback edition
Which one did you choose?
@@pauloferreira5158 go tuxedo. The gold hardware will wear out from acids in sweat. A good buddy taught me all the ins and outs of a custom
Very good and well-demonstrated video. The only thing, maybe a bit too much overdrive - more like distortion. Hard to tell anything apart with it.
One thing i have noticed, the silver burst custom is harder to find
I’m watching it like I didn’t already buy a 07 Epiphone custom like a month ago

Which guitar would have the lower output..for more warm clean jazz tones? thanks. great great video

Still haven't found a video that would get all the models. Standard pro and studio LT missing still.
Picking up my Epi LP Custom today, for me has the better sound. Won't pay Gibson prices for virtually the same guitar
Great video. How do I know if my 2004 Korean Epiphone Standard is based on 50s or 60s?
The custom was so thick and bassy
Which one weighs the least?

Juicy
LP worth a money melo sound sustain
Do they not make a budget les paul series called the muse
Yes although they might not have been out at the time this video released. It doesn’t seem like you get the upgraded pots in the muse though, but the muse has phase controls which the studio does not.

The 50s has pb 1/2 the 60s has 2/3
🤓
You forgot epiphone lp 100
Pay attention he said the Three “BestSelling" in the Epiphone Les Paul Series
All Sound the same
Made in China....count me out
I have the Les Paul Custom with the KOA cap.
