could have been one of the best offensive linemen the Colts would have ever seen, and they needed him for Peyton Manning badly, but it wasn't meant to be. I remember thinking we got a steal in the draft. I was very excited. When the news broke, it broke my heart for him, his family, and most importantly his mama who he was picking up to go to church with her.
Thanks my man! We sure love our football down here. On my university's football team there is a guy from new zealand who just received a full scholarship to Washington State University. In the end if you have the skill, you'll likely make it if recruiters see you. We lost to UCLA but had a lead of 49 to 17 and then lost 67 to 63. Last week we beat oregon state 54 53 with a last second touchdown. It was great.
I don’t know why I am so drawn to these type of stories. I’m a sobbing mess right now. G-d bless his family and all those who loved him. What an amazing ongoing tribute to his accomplishments!
His work ethic is something you don't see in too many guys now. Wish none of this happened, he would've been a great football player and an even better father. Rest In Paradise Brandon.
Sad story. Sometimes it happens that way. He had that quiet low-key determination; you could tell his teammates and coaches liked him. The glasses made him look like he was ROTC, just added to his burnished image as a quiet all-around good person..
@@YANILLIONAIRE Me too! I was thinking maybe he was Desert Storm vet that went back to college to fulfill a dream. What an amazing sad yet powerful inspirational story
Yes, he does, he looks military with those glasses. Or he looks like a corporate type. But he also looks quiet, and as others have said here, polite and respectful. We've all met people like this in our lives; they stand out because they mean well in an earnest way and they're not showboats or jokesters, just serious minded and purposeful.
This one hit hard because I know I’m going to win the Burlsworth Trophy along with many others. True inspiration and I’m extremely excited to make all of my walk-on brothers proud.
I first heard of Brandon in a book I picked up at a second hand store. And I sat for hours and finished the whole book in one night. Such an insperational story. He would have started for the Colts. We already had an insane offensive line in the 2000s, adding Burlsworth would have made Manning absolutely untouchable, and Edgerrin James wouldn't have gotten hurt so much. We could have won more than just one Super Bowl.

Just watched the movie "Greater" the story of Brandon Burlsworth. His life is a testament to doing right out of a desire to do right.
I was at the Colts game when they gave his mom his jersey. There wasn’t a dry eye in the RCA dome that day.
Me too.
Alabama Crimson Tide Of course they give the mom a Jersey since he was going to play but died that’s tradition in any sport involved deaths
@@hotpepper5125 you are an idiot
What are you ten
i grew up on Razorback football. i went to the same high school he did. i was a friend of his. i remember being so proud of him the day he told me he was gonna be a Razorback and play Razorback ball that once i saw him in #77 went out and got that number along with his initials BB tattooed on my left should in Razorback red. every time i look at it it reminds me of the best friend i lost but also the friend who set his mind to be the best Razorback Guard ever. i miss you my friend, my brother. not a day goes by that i dont think about you
Me: chilling in bed
RUclips: let’s make him cry
Lol
Lmao! For real thow
Exactly -argh.

His life is true testimony of being a faith walker. His story is incredibly beautiful and inspiring.
I love how the team gets so hyped when someone gets a scholarship it really shows it’s just more than a game
I just love how The Older Brother wear's "Brandon's Glasses" on his lapel of his coat.....
He worked so hard just to get his life taken away 😭😭. So sad 😞
Cant blame God for that if it wasnt for God you wouldn't be alive i feel sorry for you
@DrinkwithaMexican no need to be disrespectful
Rightz You can’t prove God exists and he can’t prove God doesn’t exist. There’s no point in arguing over it on the internet.

I watched his biopic Greater. Amazing movie. I’m not a sports guy but people like Brandon Bulsworth are inspiring!
One hell of a football player. Wasn’t given anything, ever. He earned it.
RIP
Can we appreciate how good of a brother he is.🥺
""It was not fair-He never got to play."" His life was never about playing. It was a lesson to us all.
Amen!
That’s deep, that you say that!

I think I’ll just take his brothers word over yours. Idiot.
@@dreyrincon yep. It's a shame. JIMBO is trying to be philosophical, but he's a moron.
What an inspiration, I’m from uk and don’t know about the NFL but I came across this story , tragic but the guy is an inspiration and legend Peace be with you Brandon and your family god bless x
Again like many RUclips videos I’m just sitting here scratching my head at who are the 447 people that disliked this video. Poor souls
Charlie Graney They probably disliked it because it’s tragic. Not because they don’t like the story.
Obviously 447 feminists that voted Hillary.

I think many dislikes are accidental.....you’re scrolling and tap it without even realizing it. I’ve done it on a cowboys youtuber’s channe that I follow. And I love the guy.
I love that they put his glasses on his trophy. I had a coach that would always call linemen drills hog heaven so I’d like to think Brandon is in hog heaven. Rip big guy
Football in harrison revolves around this man. Camps, awards, and the film room is dedicated to him, streets named after him, e.t.c. Truly inspires athletes in harrison even today
His story is so inspiring. He still to this day touches many of people and helps so many people every single day. He was an angel walking on earth
This is so heartbreaking. Rest in Peace Brandon. Fly with the Angels.
could have been one of the best offensive linemen the Colts would have ever seen, and they needed him for Peyton Manning badly, but it wasn't meant to be. I remember thinking we got a steal in the draft. I was very excited. When the news broke, it broke my heart for him, his family, and most importantly his mama who he was picking up to go to church with her.
From an American Football Fan here in the UK a truly sad and inspirational story.
ken spedding 🙏🏼
Respect bless you, all the best for your football team for the season 👍👍💪
ken spedding god bless you
Thanks my man!
Jason Weber I actually enjoy the college games more than the NFL.
He’s a true Razorback legend, and is an inspiration to the whole state. His name will never be forgotten here..

I don’t know why I am so drawn to these type of stories. I’m a sobbing mess right now. G-d bless his family and all those who loved him. What an amazing ongoing tribute to his accomplishments!

Me too.
His work ethic is something you don't see in too many guys now. Wish none of this happened, he would've been a great football player and an even better father. Rest In Paradise Brandon.
alec cornwell determination would be a more appropriate word, almost every nfl/college player works their ass off to be great.
Hunter Renfrow couldn't be a better representation of everything that award means.
Don’t have to have the work ethic when your 6’6 and 250+lbs. Just comes to you.
PRIME defiantly not true at all.. doesn’t matter hot big or tall you are you still have to work hard to get the results you want.
Wtf are you talking about?? Lmao plenty of guys have this work ethic.
Sad story. Sometimes it happens that way. He had that quiet low-key determination; you could tell his teammates and coaches liked him. The glasses made him look like he was ROTC, just added to his burnished image as a quiet all-around good person..
Now he's on scholarship in heaven. Such a great story so inspirational.
Lol if I make it into heaven it will surely be as a walk-on
How very true....🕊

@@YANILLIONAIRE Me too! I was thinking maybe he was Desert Storm vet that went back to college to fulfill a dream. What an amazing sad yet powerful inspirational story
The draft took innocent children and turned them into traumatized, hard nosed individuals.
@@phillipg1331 That is an incredible generalization. In some cases accurate, in many not.
This man was a huge inspiration, and I wish the best for his family's rip
The look on his face in each image and video shows the iron clad confidence he had and belief in himself with a silent message of “I’ll show you”
R.I.P It really seems very unfair this man was a doer, that determination is rare now

I have a son playing high school football and made him read the book to inspire him. If Brandon got his chance he would have been a fall of famer.
What’s the book?
Book name?😊
This guy inspires me to do great things even when they seem impossible because of genetics or just a late start.
I will always look up to this man
I’m from the same area this guy was. I still live here. I’m younger than him, but I remember when all this was going on. I remember when the wreck happened. We was going to Fayetteville to see some family and went by the exact spot where it happened just a couple days after the wreck. Such a terrible deal. We all watched the movie greater. If you haven’t seen it, watch it. It’s good.
Yes! He’s gained the respect of his coaching staff and his team mates. Never give up! Never!
In an age where too many youth expect everything be given to them without effort on their part this story is amazing. I sit here crying my eyes out. Wishing my middle aged body could have taken his place in that truck...on that road...on that day.
Please, everyone, live each day as if it is your last. Tell those you love how you feel about them. Be that person who makes everyone around them better for having known you. Live life with Honor, Courage, Love & Purpose.
RIP, Mr Burlsworth
You will be missed.
Peace Out
Thank you 😊. I try everyday.
highonimmi well said. I teared up reading your post.
Sissy
This is the first time I've ever heard of him. That's amazing. He was a walk-on in Arkansas, made the team and even made it to the NFL. That's proof that determination and hard work can get you anywhere.
Bryon Letterman not only that, but walking the narrow path.. he believed in Jesus as far as I can recall and was committed to keeping in line with His way of life.. from any source I’ve heard.. his character stood out to everyone and set him apart from the crowd. We can all learn a great deal from that mans life. It seems one of the most valuable things he did was truly follow the golden rule.. incredible how profound.. and how simple..
Hey dude you should really watch the movie Greater its about his story and goes into good detail.
I'm sure steroids played their part too.
There’s a movie about him
@@jamesh2711 Steroids? Really? If you had half a clue as to how hard he had to work to get where he did you wouldn't throw around accusations like that.
@ 5:45 Hunter Renfrow was a Clemson wide receiver with great hands who help Clemson go 15-0 and beat Alabama in the National Championship game in 2019. I did not know he had won the Burlsworth Trophy in 2018. He was drafted by the Oakland Raiders in 2019.
Baker Mayfield was a walk on at tech and OU, both are insane

Just watched Greater. Brought me to tears. Brandon's faith inspired me forever. God bless you & your family. Rest now your work here is done. We'll see you when we get there. 🙏🏻❤️
I'm not crying you are... Amazing Story
I had a few classes with him at UA. Remembering the day he passed they were getting their bowl rings, and he skipped the ceremony to take his mom to church. The next morning the cheerleaders left a sign on the front of the Broyles Center, and there was a cloud over that campus for a while. As good of a player as he was, he was an even better person. If you haven't seen "Greater", highly suggest watching it
Makes you take a moment and appreciate everything you have, you never know if it's gone tomorrow.
I have watched the movie about his short life many times on Netflix - “Greater”. It is mostly about his faith in God. Fantastic.
I very much agree. He must have been too good for this world. Touching.
It's free on RUclips
@TRUMP2020-FOREVER Then God saved him
He also had an extremely high GPA, an All-Academic athlete.
This is truly inspirational. Rest in paradise Brandon.
The movie will have you in tears. I love it...its the movie that will encourage anyone that don't think they have a chance to make it in any sports that you can do anything you set your mind on
me: crying
the guy at the end: "EVERYONE THANK YOU FOR WATCHING"
'Of a walk on, who lives on'
That got me
Absolutely one of the most amazing stories I’ve ever seen. This country needs more people like Brandon Burlsworth. Go rest high on that mountain.
I just watched the movie and came to RUclips for more. An amazing story of determination and being humble. He didn’t get to play but he sure did make it.
6:05 love the traces of mullet in the back. When you dont have much, you don't ever want to cut it!
Heartbreaking. Went and gave my daughter a hug after this...
He would have started for the Colts. We already had an insane offensive line in the 2000s, adding Burlsworth would have made Manning absolutely untouchable, and Edgerrin James wouldn't have gotten hurt so much. We could have won more than just one Super Bowl.
If burlsworth actually got to play in the NFL he probably would have been one of the greatest of all time.. I read up on his story and I'm going to that college currently.. and his work ethic was absolutely insane..
What's the odds that his story and how he kept himself got him a blocking job for one of the best QBs in nfl history
