I think you really nailed it with that casual comment "often they dont realise that you actually still want junkfood, just without meat". thats exactly the only reason i avoid 99% of the plant based products, because they try too hard to feel "healthy" at the same time and we all know that all thats is "healthy" is devoid of fun.
Who says that "healthy" immediately means tasteless or boring? I thought in this day and age that sort of thinking died out since there are so many delicious healthy recipes out there just a few taps away. You don't have to block your arteries to enjoy food
Yes!!!! In my country, when I want a vegetarian or vegan menu it always comes with a bunch of salad, wheat bread and just spicy sauce... I want fat!! Thankfully that is changing now.
I won't even try to imagine how healthy tastes like...
@@skyraven89 I really envy you. I wish I could enjoy healthy food. I have cooked and bought every food under the sun (or available in Switzerland). While of course not all healthy food is "gross" to me, the level of joy I get from all the artery clogging food is not even approached. Our brains have evolved to go nuts for high energy foods. I really would love to eat more healthy, but I'm such an addict :(
@@skyraven89 it's more, at least in my experience, that food that's trying to hard to be healthy because that's the point of the exercise tends to taste bad in a few specific ways, so things that taste like that get refered to as tasting "healthy".
Meanwhile, food that's actually made by reasonable people can be perfectly healthy without tasting disgusting. The resulting flavour tends to fall in the same general range as any other good tasting food, though,, so doesn't need its own lable.

America has had the Burger King veggie burger for quite a while now. There was a big controversy here that cooks were grilling the veggie burger on the same griddled they cook the meat burgers on.
That's why they are not advertised as "Vegetarian/Vegan alternative". It's still grilled on beef fat.
@@edim108 Yes, these are more aimed at people who want to reduce their meat intake (save the planet) rather than having a vegetarian/vegan objection to meat.
that's not controversy you do grill the them on the same stove. Its a belt and you place them on the left side of the grill but you still cooked the meat on that side too lol.
As a vegetarian i dont see what the big deal is about that. Unless they change to primarily vegetarian (not gonna happen) they're gonna use the same beef fat to cook something regardless of if that something has meat in it so what difference does it make? I'm pretty god damn elated to hear there's any non-meat option at a fast food restaurant at all, honestly
I don’t mind if my plant burgers cooked on the same grill as meat ones, I’m just glad to have a plant based option.

Also she's spent a LOT of time with Mark as well. She could be like me and just get along very well with guys more than women (I find there's less drama and catty gossip, more easygoing teasing and jokes-also helps I was raised by my brother so I'm a bit tomboyish), or they could be courting, feeling the field, not together though, or together and just letting it happen organically, either way, whatever it us, good for them and please be respectful and try not to shove it down their throats : ) and have a wonderful day :)
undeniably true, they're like a rom-com together and their cameos are the best part about watching their videos. I've been shipping them since the roller coaster but by now they know each other so well they probably already hate each other's quirks and are out of the "honeymoon" phase of infatuation so just the fear of ruining their friendship and the fear of facing judgement from the whole damn world will probably prevent them from ever trying try to push past that boundary.

Im definitely a meat eater but i liked the plant burger just like Chris. I wonder if you noticing that funky taste is because you are used to eating vegatarian foods so you have an idea of what the unique taste is like.

Its interesting to know that there are not many vegetarian options outside India. We have burger king here and so many vegetarian options. People think vegetarian burgers aren't good but they are. So many non vegetarian people eat vegetarian options too🤷♀️

We've had the Impossible Whooper in the US for over a year. I'm with Chris on the verdict. I was pleasantly surprised how much it tasted like a regular Whooper, but by the end the magic had dried up and could taste the difference. Still would recommend!
I think Canada has it too.
Maybe it's different elsewhere, but in EU, every fast food beef patty I've had tasted like shit, so never really understood why people care so much what's inside, you can tell that it's not meat, but it's not like the dogshit they call meat is any better.
Fast food chicken burgers are good though.

I almost never eat real burgers anymore, and I haven’t tried the Impossible Whopper, but if you have a Carl’s Jr. (or a Hardy’s if you’re east coast) their impossible burger is pretty damn good. I hmmm west coast and have Carl’s so I’m not positive Hardy’s has it but they should be same restaurant. Lol
I was genuinely shocked how close the flavor of the impossible patty was to the real thing. There is a certain visual element that gives away the fact it’s not real meat too.

We have that here (in Gibraltar) and fake chicken nuggets (that taste very similar to me but I haven't eaten meat in a long time so might just be me)... I really like both :) So glad Burger King is branching out as I love junk food some times!

The US Burger Kings have had a veggie burger for a long while. I believe they were one of the first fast-food chains here to have one. They introduced the Impossible Whopper a couple years back. Not great but okay considering they dump all the condiments all over it. Dunkin Dounts here has the Beyond Sausage breakfast sandwich though which is pretty great. Beyond Meats overall taste better than Impossible Meats so interested to see the future McDonald's menu roll-out once their "McPlant" line launches later this year (Beyond will be their supplier)
Fun Fact: We don't call it "Burger King " in Australia. When they first opened here they quickly changed the name to Hungry Jack's because another restaurant had the trademark.
We do have a plant-based burger, called The Rebel Whooper and you can order it with vegan cheese. It's my favourite at the end of a night out in Sydney
The vegan mayo is good, the cheese... I go without, its mehh. Burger is good though, as long as the pattie hasnt been sitting around forever and turned into cardboard haha. I actually like having to wait for a batch to be cooked because it tastes so much better freshly cooked :P

I work at Burger King in The Netherlands and we've had the Plant Based burger for a few months now. It tastes pretty good, but it is a bit smelly I must say....

We had it at Burger King and other chains (not McD) before the pandemic in Sweden, I think in summer '19 or so. I don't get many fast food burgers anymore, but I'll probably go plant based when I can. Might as well, it's not like the burgers are great quality to begin with.
