    Well, I’m not gonna lie Michael. It was intriguing, listening to the branches make pinstripes on the side of your jeep definitely Oregon gave you a badge of honor I would say that your jeep did do well out there but not having a winch on it I would say it was a good thing having some with you out there last year I had the front passenger tire completely go into a sinkhole and it was just me my vehicle and the winch and it took me 2 1/2 hours to turn it around and get back on the trail to go back down😊

    • @ConquestOverland
      @ConquestOverland  Год назад

      Thanks Brian! We certainly got some new battle scars by the branches on this trip haha. With not having a winch I know my limits on when to turn around though it is nice having someone with a winch in case things to sideways... haha. I can only imagine what you went through with the 2 1/2 hours of work!

    this is my first year owning a 4x4 and im skeptical to how well my 100 series will do in the snow. i know a lot of it comes down to tire size and type as well as snow condition but id like your opinion. i have a 100 series land cruiser (more specifically an lx470) on 33" ko2's (285, 75, 16) and a 2" lift, no lockers or any other mods. what would you recommend the safe limit being for my situation? being snow depth and how low can i go in tire psi while still having stock wheels. i hope to put it to the test this weekend here in idaho

    • @ConquestOverland
      @ConquestOverland  Год назад +1

      I feel it all depends on the terrain you'll be traveling, depth of snow, ice potential, weight of gear your carrying, etc. Going in groups helps for when you get stuck due to having multiple recovery options with additional vehicles and whatnot. Though for me, I definitely have limits with this particular Jeep. Being only on 31s A/T tires and stock suspension, etc. I can do to most places but certainly not all. In deeper snow I'm certain I'll get stuck and not have the ability to push forward though following tracks of more capable rigs might get me further down the road along with using their winch 😉
      At the end of the day having the right recover gear of straps, shackles, traction boards, tools for airing down/ up, and general snow driving knowledge can get you very far before vehicle specific mods. However, when things get too dicey I have nothing to prove and more than happy to turn around, especially on solo trips.
      Though through it all, just have fun and get out there! It's a learning experience and should be equally as fun. Each trip I come back with more usually knowledge to make the next outing all the better!

      Not really, just quality set of ATs and MTs on each vehicle. Snow really wasn’t that deep to be worried too much about to 😉👍

    Ive always wondered why the serious offroad community like you guys and thousands more never use chains. Why?

    • @ConquestOverland
      @ConquestOverland  Год назад

      Haha, for starters please don’t put me in the “serious offroad community”. If you’ve seen anything on my channel I’m far from that… As for the chains, the snow wasn’t more than 5” deep, no need for chains when you have a solid set of tires and air down the psi for better float/ traction. I’d certainly use chains for anything deeper or if the roads were icy. Just because you don’t see them on doesn’t mean they weren’t in the vehicle ready to be used should conditions call for it.
      That’s just my personal take but I’m sure everyone has their own opinion as well. Hope that helps and thanks for watching! 😉👍

    So for the scenes where you’re driving by the camera, are y’all really just stopping 10 feet later, getting out, grabbing the camera, and getting back in? Kinda ruins the immersion lol
