Welcome along for another van life adventure out in the cold winter temperatures. This time I take my 1991 Volkswagen Vanagon up into the Cascade Mountains where I find myself in sub-zero winter conditions. Even in these sub-freezing temperatures I manage to build a campfire and enjoy some time in the winter wonderland of Washington. Welcome on board this winter van life adventure.

Every time I see you in your old VW Van heading up to Mt Baker it brings back so many memories. Me and my '87 VW tin top Syncro Van spent many nights up there with lots of Xcountry skiing and snow shoeing with friends. Now 73 those days seem far removed but your excellent presentations really help rekindle those days. Have a great New Year buddy.
The peacefulness of the campfire against the backdrop of the fridge winter calms my mind like few other things can. When I've got a big decision looming, and I've not found clarity one way or another, sitting in front of a campfire, or if it's spring or summer, sitting on a boat in the middle of a big lake, both bring me calm and serenity .

I know you said the VW isn't as equipped as the Sprinter for winter camping but I still remember the winter camping videos before the Sprinter existed and it's what attracted me so keep it up and thanks for the awesome content.

Like to say towards the beginning and the end of the video at the 22nd minute mark I felt such serenity by gazing at this clear scenery of the trees with the snow everywhere and on the trees the music in the video set my mind drifting off and I felt calmness. I just wanted to tell you that. You're amazing with such talent and filming and putting the right music together to send us to another world.

You don’t know how much i’ve needed this video today. It goes against everything they say you shouldn’t do to engage people on youtube. It’s slow paced with no talking until 18 mins in. I’m still trying to find my style and voice with my campervan videos and trying to enjoy the traveling whilst producing content. All the while learning to talk to camera without freezing. Wow! The scenery is just the cats meow. I lived near the Cascade Mountains 20 years ago and I must tell you there never was a dull moment. In the summer, lots of wildlife, which I love. My Astro did fine for me in -15 this winter. It’s the summer heat that makes things really difficult in a van. Btw, you were the first one to interview me to the “cheap Chinese diesel heater” that everyone knows so well now. Mine has been going strong for 3 years and I have zero regrets.
