Instead of watching this video, I took Cenk's earlier advice and decided to "Google it!"...

He didn't say that you claimed taxes should be 100%. He asked you why they shouldn't be, based on your logic. As in, where do you draw the line? You refused to answer that question. You suggested 91%. So, if your answer is "I don't think it would be right to take every penny from people through taxation" than he would have said "How about 99% then?"
You're right about him using "Tactics". He did so to poke holes in your shallow bullshit arguments, and he was successful.

A little extra for Ben's successful life is that his wife is also a doctor. Got to say when I watched the debate between Cenk and Ben I felt that Ben didn't really "own" Cenk in the way that a lot of his (Ben's) followers seem to think. Ben takes things to their logical extreme quite often, it's something he does when there isn't really any other comeback and he does it in order to mask that fact but simultaneously put in a dig on his opponent or make a strawman argument - like for example the point Cenk was making in this video where he was talking about tax rates and then Ben responded with something along the lines of "So we should put taxes to 100% is what you're saying" when literally no one said that, nor even suggest that the initial tax rate Cenk quoted was reasonable etc. Only reason he does it is to make quick swipes at people, trying to make their point look moot because taking anything to it's logical extreme results in farce. Truth is it doesn't make Cenk look bad if you're neutral watching that debate because you just end up thinking instead "Why won't Ben engage in discourse rather than make everything into a snide attack on his opponent's intelligence?".

CarbonitePlays - you're right. when your opponent takes your argument to an extreme, and then argues against that, you MUST call them out on it. Fox news does this all the time with things like minimum wage increases - 'why not increase to 100,000 per year'. it's weak and you can't let it slide.
Your not following the logic of Ben's arguement.
Cenk was making the assertion that America was correlating economic success with high levels of taxation.
Ben then logically extended that argument and said why not make the tax rate 100% and have great economic success.
Cenk couldn't answer that question.
And if 100% taxation is not permissible then what level of taxation is, and why that level and not 100%.
Nobody suggested a 100% taxation but it was a logical extension that Ben made.

Shapiro did not destroy anyone: points well expressed from both, but even Uygur did a bit better. Cenk Uygur just lost the crowd by insulting them when hassled (mind you, the crowd seemed to be against Cenk from the beginning); he should know better though, and control his emotions when hassled. Shapiro just talks faster but stutters frequently.

The crowd was definitely pro-Ben. But Cenk actually did well. For me, the person who needs to constantly distort the other person's argument has lost the debate by default -- and that is what Ben did repeatedly.
