You can hate Ana, but why are so many of these comments letting that overshadow what she is saying in this clip? I’ve been on both sides of the political isle, mainly bc I’m not looking for discourse that agree with mine, I’m looking for opinions that are actually based in principles. I have been extremely critical of Ana and the Young Turks the last two years, but when I hear her in this clip, it only helps bring me back to my own principles and I can help but remember she isn’t an enemy and she isn’t some nefarious person looking to push certain narratives for personal gain. And I think more recently she’s actually proven that by pushing back against the left wing trans narrative and losing a lot of support as a result of it, something I can’t in good faith say I would also do (although I hope I would) if I was in her same position. It takes some serious backbone and REAL principles to unapologetically stand against the people your career and livelihood depend on, and for that I respect her way more than the people in here who I might agree with on more issues but don’t have the integrity to acknowledge the good in people they’ve already determined “are bad.” It’s the exact same mindset that drove me away from the “left.” Treating every conservative like they’re terrible awful people. However, in this exchange with Ben it was refreshingly candid and surprisingly civil and to her surprise there were were a lot of points to which they both had similar thinking and ideas. There some points that they didn't agree on but then in the real world no two people will agree on everything unless they live in a complete bubble. @@SyntheticStuntMan You make a valid point but the key is to start somewhere and nowadays the way to exact change at colleges is through the checkbook. Harvard and Columbia just witnessed what happened when two major alumni givers pulled the plug on their donations.....It not only made them stand to attention but it made them realize that they are tied to a set of standards that they have in recent times failed to uphold.
I think you would agree that college is the only time in a young persons life where there should be a free flowing exchange of ideas and with that a maturation process that is "supposed" to come as the student progresses through their 4 years at school. They have no responsiblity accept to keep an open mind and to absorb as much information as possible from all facets of life through the exchange of ideas and philosphies. However, what we have seen is just the opposite. We have seen the intentional planning and programming of students and the results are quite damning. We have students who are being radicalized and institutionalized where all critical thinking is removed. You are no longer expected to have original thoughts and ideas. Alot of this has to do with social media and the insanity that is being pushed out over the airwaves but this is also being pushed right in the classroom. We are now seeing students who completely unprepared for the real world, that have no concept of hard work or how to handle and work through complex or even simple issues that befall them.
