Due credit to Ben: “You’re letting the opposition pick your candidate” is spot on. The sophomoric fetish for “owning the libs” is basically cutting off your nose to spite your face.
As to Mitt Romney, from what I gather he was scarcely any Republican’s first or even third choice; he just had a greater plurality of first past the post, choose-one votes in a crowded field of contenders.
His fellow Republicans in the primary so shot him up as an out of touch elitist that, come the general, the Obama campaign scarcely needed to do more than repeat that line.
John McCain’s swing to the right included forming a ticket with Sarah Palin, John the Baptist to Messiah Trump in the post-Bush GOP’s hagiography. The party was already a smaller tent in which even Barry Goldwater and Ronald Reagan were really too moderate for the increasingly dominant fanatics.

Not sure when it was filmed but Ben has a series called The Sunday special which I just him talking like this with whatever guest he can get on. He doesn’t release them as often as he used to but he’s had Generals, Ministers, Andrew Yang was on once, the author Orson Scott Card. Honestly it’s a pretty mixed bag and you can find whatever you want. Anna was one of the best IMO and I’m not a huge fan of this channel, but the Ben Netenyaho one was really great, simply because Ben and him were so similar in a lot of ways you could tell they really hit it off, and Ben was almost intimidated in a big brother little brother way by BB for a bit.

I get what Ana is doing with this, and I think there is some value there, but this was entirely too civil and didn't hold Shapeepee accountable for all the hate and pain he spreads. And, i don't think anyone on the Reight will be swayed by discussions like this. Their objective isn't to have discussions and move minds, their objective is to cause pain and keep the wealthy in power. So, all in all this was frustrating and I wish Ana had used her considerable talent for almost anything else.
