    Not only is this great content, it's also put together well. Nice lighting, edits, framing, etc. I also love how much information is in here, without it feeling crammed. Very professional - and a particularly fantastic first video on your channel. Looking forward to more.

    So true, lighting is so important. I have a bunch of Philips Hues in my studio, which are great but IMO without additional lighting from windows or brighter bulbs, they're just not bright enough for daytime (they're like 850 lumens each or so). Great for night time vibes though. Nice vid, Gavin!

    Thank you for the infos! I have my office in a dark corner of the room. Can you recommend good lightning? Apart from ambient lights - is it better with a ceiling light or better a floodlight to the top for indirect ligthning?

    Light quality is as important as Kelvin Temperature and Lumens. Saw this on WireCutter. I am searching for good quality light and having a hard time finding it.
    High CRI and R9 values: CRI (Color Rendering Index) measures color accuracy relative to incandescent bulbs, or natural daylight. Although LEDs still can’t match incandescent bulbs, which have a CRI of 100, they’ve improved significantly in recent years. A CRI of 80 is now standard for LED bulbs. Higher is better, and great LED bulbs should accurately render colors. Lighting designer Geoff Goral told us that CRI as a metric has come under fire for measuring bulbs based on how well they portray pastel colors (instead of more saturated colors). Some bulbs now also list an R9 value, which indicates how well a bulb depicts red tones (making art, food, and people look better and less washed-out).

    5:00 can you link out to the floor lamp shown here? Very useful info. I ended up buying 23W 4060 lumen bulb and couldn’t be happier. Thanks.

    You're not dealing with screen or desk glare when using all those lights?

    • @betterfasterhealthier147

      It has never been a problem for me, probably because most of my lights are in torchiere lamps (which point towards the ceiling), or behind my screens.

    What about 4000K for office?

    • @betterfasterhealthier147
      @betterfasterhealthier147  3 года назад +2

      It's better for a workspace than the "warm white" bulbs, but your brain won't quite interpret it as "daylight". Get 5000K or above if you can, especially if you're working a lot of hours in that office.
