    You can skip these steps and plant your mango seed directly in a bigger pot, exposed to sunlight. This way, you'll have a seedling in no time.

    A few things to keep in mind. A mango in nature, is in a tropical environment, and falls off a tree when it is ready. In a perfect environment, not every mango falling off the tree will have a seed which is viable, or capable of germinating and becoming another tree. Store bought mango is picked unripe, then goes to cold storage. Seeds from store bought mango may not be viable. Mango are a tropical fruit. Your environment may not support the conditions which the plant needs in order grow, thrive, and give fruit.

    Roommate bought a mango for us to try, and being the person I am I saved the seed. This video taught me I needed to remove the husk, so I peeled it off and just finished wrapping the seed in a damp paper towel, putting it in the baggie, and setting it on a windowsill so it stays warm. I have my phone to go off in a week to remind me to check on whether it's germinated or not, and I have a large pot on standby perfect for when it starts sending roots.

    I've been seeing these types of channels and videos popping up everywhere. They've existed for a while now, but not like this. With the economy in a depression,, these types of videos and their popularity rising just goes to show that inflation is really starting to hit their pockets and people now, are more than ever, looking for alternatives to supplement their grocery bills ( there are other examples of futures, since this is a video about food, i kept it at that so the thread wouldn't drift). I hope people start noticing the little things happening before it's to late.

    • @TonysExploration
      @TonysExploration  2 года назад

      We just can't compare by height , since is not a apple to apple comparison. The reason we grafted, because we want to inherit the exact characteristics of certain variety that is deem beneficial..for example, certain variety have lower branch with higher yield and small husk...then this will be grafted unto rootstock to carry the same genetic. Some is sweeter, and larger in size...but they also grew very tall. Japan grew in greenhouse and just a few feet tall with very limited fruit per branch...Seedlings or non grafted is basically on its own...it could be better or worst compare to the mother tree.

    Hello, I tried to do it many times. In the plastic bag roots and leaves are nice and healthy, but when I put it in the soil, leaves start to dry up. Where is the problem? I watered it quite enough and also splash water on the plant, no change.

    • @TonysExploration
      @TonysExploration  Год назад

      Hard to diagnose without actual looking at the physical plant. As long as the soil is correct pH, the soil is damn ,and the temperature is warm enough. Now , if you have pH meter, try to measured that one, at least rule out pH first. Also , when leaves dry up, have you pull out and check on the roots, anything unusual?

    • @TonysExploration

      When it comes to fertilizer, for seedlings give a very dose. Much lower than the label recommendation. Any type of equal ratio NPK works fine.

    There’s no need to open it, just place the seed with the husk in an open pot for few days once dried place it in the mud and wait patiently and water everyday you will see it germinate

    • @TonysExploration
      @TonysExploration  4 месяца назад

      That is the most natural way, but chances of germination will be lower, but I agree with you, yrs method does work.

    My manga plant has developed brown tips that little by little turn the leaf into a dry one, I already removed it from the sun, I gave it enough water, but not for this, do you think it is due to a fungus? What fungi are prone to on mangoes?

    My daughters neighbor has a mango tree growing into her yard. I didn't know what it was at first. I assumed it was some type of fruit. I googled it cause it was green & not ripe. I touched one of the mangoes & it fell rigbt off the tree. So i decided to try growing a tree. It's rapped in a damp paper towel inside a baggie. Hopefully, it'll sprout so i can plant it. None of us really even like mangos they'll be good for smoothies or to share with family & friends. Is it true it takes years to get mango fruit ? I forgot how many years it takes, do you know?

      That is still possible, certain variety can indeed planted in pot . Of course , the process and how to trim it need to paid attention. Try Google Miyazaki mango...you get the idea.
