  • HOW Throttle Exponential improved my RC Racing INSTANTLY
BUT!!! F🤬🤬🤬Firstly somebody explain why, if i am using my phone camera in selfie mode (the camera on the front ) why is the writing reversed ??????? watch the video you'll see
    🤦‍♀️🤷‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤷‍♀️
In this video i explain What, Throttle Exponential is and How it can affect your RC car and how i changed my settings and instantly saw results managing to place 3rd , 4th and then " 1ST " in my respective finals at the recent #Rugmaster Race .......
A big Thanks for the explanation from a #Mardave works driver Johnathan..
the aim of this video is to try to pass on that knowledge ( in VERY SIMPLE ) terms to hopefully help any one else who is struggling but just can't see why ...
    Stuff i use or Recommend..

i had a futaba radio that showed this on the display. 4pk or someting like that. very early in my rc career. it was very helpful and you are spot on with your discription.

i would argue that what you had set up at first is closer to what you want to have. 75% positive expo feels pretty good and IMO a good starting point. reason for this: when you are going around a corner, you arent stopped, you are rolling at some speed, atlest 30% in the slowest of 180 corners. if you set your radio to be linear, your first 30% of throttle will provide no imput in speed (if the car is already going 30% of its speed and you give it 30% throttle, its not gaining anything it will stay that same speed) also because of weight, drag, loading etc, even if you give 30% throttle you dont get 30% power right off the bat, the esc, motor, battery have to overcome all that. so if you were at a dead stop and went up to 30% throttle, its not instantly at 30% wheel speed.

Something about this Northern accent makes me take in all the information with such efficiency

  • @steven-vn9ui

Nicely explained, I have my 3pv on -20% which works well for our track and my level of experience

  • @fpvburg

'You get the DRIFT of what i'm saying' hahaha .. i love this vid, very well explained. Thnx for sharing !

The values may differ between radios. On the Noble NB4 zero is linear, and negative expo softens the initial acceleration. You can also add delay to the throttle in the radio similar to the ESC's punch setting.

  • @onlineaccount

Always use linear and adjust on the finger, i suspect when someone said about speed they meant epa not exp and epa is the 100% to give you max power.

Zero throttle and steering expo would normally be the default on most radios which would normally be a curve like you showed. The steering expo is even more important than the throttle expo. It's a curve so ideally you don't want to run too much of either, as a stick radio person who races mod TC I run about -45-50% st expo and maybe -10% throttle expo, with a wheel you tend to not need as much negative steering expo. I also turn the steering speed down a little via the radio which some radios have

  • @MarcosMartinelli1

I am quite sure that linear acelleration, and also linear steering , without any expo, 1 to 1 ratio, are the standard setting on all transmitters.

The 3PV is just like all Futaba Radios, plus (+) Expo is like your first curve and minus (-) Expo is like your second curve. Zero (0) Expo is a straight line.

For throttle it depends on track conditions. For on-road I guess the value 50 and above work well, because of more instant power on high grip/traction surface.

  • @davidking6594

Just found this. This could be the solution to a lot of my issues….just can’t keep the car either straight out a corner or off power (probably got brake set too high there). But I know the car has grip, I just can’t get it down

a new tip for me being a newbie sooooo much to learn

IV had same problems blame everything nearly except failure and give up just tried exp 50 per racing tomorrow let you know also set steering at 50 so I don't jab on to quick out of corners (in theory) but you do make sense thank you Chris h

  • @user-md8rj9tg8t

That was informative, I have the FlyskyGT3B, I believe it has expo so I'll test my Ftx Zorro on this tiny asphalt bike track with 50% expo to see if it handles better. Thanks again

I may have misunderstood but it seems Your chart is wrong I’m afraid my friend. The standard default setting for exponential is 0 you can change it to either plus or minus 100

Hello from Australia. Thanks for sharing. Nit long into racing as well. Will give the EXP a try?

  • @dgmenace73

Very important info! Definitely helps me!
