As a circle track dirt racer it is absolutely crazy seeing how technical this style of racing is thanks for sharing these tips I'm going to watch this again and see if I can apply it to my racing I just built my 6.1D and I love it in the street stock 13.5 class

Man! I just got back into RC this month and Windy City is about 8 minutes from my place. Super bummed that they shut down because that would have been wayyyy to convenient and seems like it was a super cool place. Big fan of your videos btw

I love going to my carpet track races! I don't have to drag along my chair, table, canopy and generator. Where I race they have a burnout table, huge pit area's with electricity, food, beverages and a table with air compressors! My truck stays clean and traction is not an issue. If carpet racing is wrong I don't want to be right! I'd rather be munching carpet than playing in the mud like a pig! Lol!😀

You're not wrong for liking carpet, the blame falls on how it's being handled. Instead of being made its own thing, carpet is simply being allowed to replace dirt outright. Vehicles designed for carpet are very different from vehicles designed for dirt even if they look the same at a glance, and while a dirt-focused vehicle could do double-duty as a basher, a carpet-focused one is unsuitable for this. This in turn further divides the bashing and racing sides of the hobby and provides less of an incentive for bashers to give racing a try.

Good video's man! I just got into 1/8 scale buggy racing. I have a few 120 amp esc's, that run my 3674 motor fine, but I want a bigger motor that can run with a 120amp? I've been looking at a 4068 2050kv, from what I can tell, that's the biggest motor I could run with a 120 esc? Thanks for making great videos! I got a small rc channel, check it out!

Place two salt and pepper shakers on your living room carpet and you have a carpet track.

    • @VestedUTuber

Agreed, not because I don't like carpet, but because smooth surfaces require entirely different vehicle designs and that further divides the racing and bashing sides of the hobby.

Carpets for onroad racing. I do not like this trend of carpet tracks. I understand the cars stay clean, traction is great tire selection is easy BUT I am a dirt guy.

A lot feel this way and it's coming all over, i don't know why, but, i'm trying carpet again in a couple of weeks, it's all that's left in a 150 mile radius, but the dirt tracks were booming, 100+ entries, every week, carpet is 1/3 that many, but if you wanna race with buggies it's carpet life for a few years, then maybe it will trend back the other way. I'm going to give it a fair chance this time, it's tough being a front runner on dirt then sucking hind tit on carpet, but maybe i can get it... to me it's so robotic like CART cars, less balls out racing like dirt late models... but i will try my darnest to do it. Maybe i can make it fit my style....

i have no issue with temp tracks being carpet but permanent tracks need to be dirt... its at the point where we are using onroad tracks with small wooden jumps and call it off-road..... a good example of a good offroad track is every silver state, it ruts up and it makes for awesome viewing and actualy driving the track aswell as the other drivers... other then just racing other drivers(onroad, lol)

Yeah that sucks, I just started carpet racing to get thru the off-season of 1/8 dirt offroad. Hope you have found a new place to race offroad.
