I'm sad only for the fact that I found them too late to get the chance to see them live doing these older songs because Covid happened...but now that things look like they might be able to do some touring this year (2021) I hope I get to see them perform their new stuff from Battle at Garden's Gate, which is a masterpiece📀!

Drum solo at the end of Safari Song. Damn.... These kids have a knack for making even their own stuff better every time I hear it. Greatness.
I WAS THERE THAT NIGHT and they stole the show with their sound and performance. My wife and son had never been to a rock concert and they both liked them of all the acts. The crowd cheering and the standing ovation was how you know they rocked.

If you’re a fan of zeppelin, why would hearing this band upset you? It’s like we get to listen to zep again in a way.... and it’s not like they are doing covers... I like this band.
Great show! Love how they used the drum solo to transition from Safari Song into Black Smoke Rising. Would have been so fun to be there!
Josh's voice sounds incredible here. The whole band sounds incredible as well. But that "here comes the sun" part really wowed me

I have a simple solution to all you detractors, go away and listen to the crap you listen to, because you are not going to change my opinion on this band. I wish you would list bands that you think are great in order for me comment on their short comings. I am sure that they are second rate so why waste my time!
I remember the first time I heard Led Zepelin in 1969 on an 8-track player in a friends car at work in Wichita Falls. It blew us all away. We were lucky enough to go to Dallas two months later and see Zep live at the Dallas international Pop festival. Also saw Grand funk and Yes and many others. Last month a friend sent me a link to Greta and I listened to them on my killer 7.2 in my living room. Wow I was blown away again like 1969. These kids are so much fun. They sounded like Zep , Yes, Savoy Brown, Rush and Aerosmith and journey and many others. It is exactly what I would expect from kids that grew up in the country without cable TV or internet. They grew up on their parents old vinyl. I hope there are many other kids somewhere in the world listening to old records and making their own new blends. Led Zep grew up on old blues and southern black music. I remember some of the guys in the 60's calling Zep fags and fruits. Seems the same idiots are here today putting down these kids. I hope GVF continues to make people smile , young and old.
Dallas pop festival was in my backyard, too bad I had not moved to Texas then, plus I was only 2. Greta Van Fleet ROX!

When I listen to them makes me feel young again,and by the way that was a good concert,DALLAS has had some good music come and go,TEXAS JAMS!!! DAMN GOOD TIMES!!!
Thank you Greta Van Fleet for bringing us back that wonderful 70's sound. It's a sound we missed so much.

The critics get so upset because they have that Zeppelin sound and feel. I say so what? In this day and of age of absolutely crappy music, I say that is a very, very good thing!

It's a retro sound, but along with the Zep sound, they've successfully amalgamated a good many of the blues bands of that era (1967-1972). I like em, just wish they'd release some singles on vinyl along with some of that unreleased stuff they're sitting on.
At this point, the Led Zeppelin comparisons are simply lazy. GVF stands on their own. Plenty of room at the altar for a pantheon of rock gods.
Have the sound and feel? It's an exact replica.
@@Frankincensedjb123 exact replica? Hell no. Greta Van Fleet are a fine group of boys playing classic rock. Leave them the fuck alone. NO ONE will EVER be able to match Led Zeppelin's sound or fame ever again. Just accept it.

Ok all you kids under 30 who like these guys, make sure you tell ALL of your friends about them, we need to get Rock back up front as the dominant music form. The millennial generation have let music go all to hell, with kids into nothing but crap and hip hop, give your braindead rap friends a smack in the head with this and lets get music back to where it should be!

These guys absolutely ROCK! I'm so grateful #1: To the parents for raising all 4 of these talented gents and for the influence bestowed upon them! #2: For the guys having the love and ambition to pursue a career of this nature.... #3 for possibly single handedly saving ROCK & ROLL! I'm 55 and still an avid rock & roller.... I grew up with Plant & Page as my idols.... This is the best stuff I've heard in years! As far as the rip off nonsense: these guys are their own! If people don't have enough sense to embrace the fact that these boys are simply an amalgam of the music they come to love throughout their lives, they can all go.... well, I'll stop there. I hear so many different influences (that i wont name for the sake of "feeding the ignorant frenzy") in this music it absolutely blows my mind! I'd like to see Plant & Page endorse these boys..... heavily! Lovin GVF!

Plant told an an interviewer(and thence me) about them. He said they were about were LZ 1 was. So I had to find out what he was talking about. That was 1 1/2 years ago and I've been following them every day since then. Really really dug, dig your comment. AND THERE IS SOOOOO MUCH MORE TO COME! They have just got started.

Josh is controlling his voice better, thats good cause we don't want him to blow out those vocal chords
He won't, he hardly has to try to hit everything he does. It's the singers that force a sound that ruin their voice. He is not forcing or trying to sound like anyone it's just his voice.

I'm 21, and being young, I just love how in the comments real rock fans who grew up AND saw Led Zeppelin LIVE admire Greta Van Fleet, meanwhile all the skinny-jean-wearing douchebags who are my age, NOT REAL ROCK FANS, and only know and listen to tattoo-faced rappers, have to shit on this band and call them "copycats" and garbage, when they are NOT EVEN CLOSE.

Agreed! I haven’t been this excited about any band in a long long time. I don’t know what it is, but Josh and the guys bring a tear to my eye when I listen to them. Especially some of their live performances on RUclips. I hope they just keep doing what they’re doing, it is working.

As an Aside.... I believe GVF got a soundtrack, "Smoke Rising" on a Dodge RAM TV commercial in the Los Angeles Market on Thursday Night Football, Dec 28th, I think. Great exposure, when your music makes mainstream TV commercials, for brand association.

They keep getting better every day looks like they own the future hope more will compete to get to this level ...it's exciting ...haven't cared this much for rock since the 70's ... a lot of good bands have showed up and kept it alive ...but with their youth and tight sound I'm just blown away by this ...can't wait to see and hear them live ...

orley104 that’s so awesome! That’s so cool of them to add more dates. Unfortunately, they don’t have any tour dates in California next year(or any of the states near), which is a real bummer. I love seeing them at festivals(ex KROQ and CALJAM), but I would love to one day just see them at their own show.

Yup, the best version of Edge of Darkness (so far) is in this concert imo.
AS everybody's first impression of this band the great Robert Plant and Led Zeppelin comes to mind. Which is a huge compliment and glad they are here. Unfortunately there is too much assimilation in the main stream news. Overshadowing this bands outright potential. I hope they are not a 1 trick pony and can pull off cultivating their own sound in order to stay longer. I remember the Black Crows came out in the 90's and had a similar effect, so did Billy Squier. Will GVF have an association with only their similarities, Hope not. This kid can sing, the drummer is solid, bassist and guitarists have awesome potential! Keep rocking' Thats what we need!

Kyle The guitar they play is called a Gibson SG. They are a bit pricey, but you can get a fairly similar guitar made by Epiphone for around $300. They are pretty good.
Buy the oldest Korean made Epiphone SG you can find used. Replace the Pots/50's wiring, paper and foil Caps.
Please buy a guitar but you must know they are not Gods nor Idols They are talented musicians and they are great but they’re only human beings- This kind of thinking will lead the band to drugs and destruction/ just enjoy the magic !!

Sam is a PHENOMENAL bassist. Under appreciated as is Danny. If you really pay attention you can hear how Danny and Sam play off one another like few can in other bands. Sam's bass lines are smooth deep and soulful while Danny pulls it all together keeping everyone on point like a cosmic metronome. Just stunning.
