Love Harrison! His smile is beautiful. I live in the US. I have watched this show since season 1 and continue to watch it. I am obsessed. What these lifeguards do is amazing. It has to be the best job on earth, helping people and saving lives on a daily basis.

Sadly poor Harrison was run over by one of the buggies they use on the beach while running to make a rescue in October 2021.He sadly died of his injuries.

Degrees are incredibly helpful if you have a clear idea of what you want to do and it directly contributes to that. The issue is people signing up to uni without a clue of what they want to do

The US is the same way with pushing college on kids that have no idea what they want to do with their future. Let's kids go and experience life so they can figure it out! Also, we need more tradesmen!

I finished school in the UK in 2011. We were the last class before tuition fees were about to sky rocket, so a lot of people went to Uni just to avoid the tuition hikes. I went travelling instead. I didn't know what I wanted to do. Had about 5 different jobs in Oz (including as the cold drinks guy on Bondi 😅). I did various jobs when I came home and eventually found something I had a passion for. Uni can be great for people, but I think a lot of youngsters are being misled. Apprenticeships definitely need to be encouraged more, and the stigma around working in certain industries is steering people towards Uni/jobs they don't like. I worked in supermarkets, pubs, shops and kindve stumbled upon the industry I work in now. Just keep moving forward, and you'll find something, and for God's sake, don't listen to the people like Harrison is talking about. Take advice from people you trust as long as they have your best interests rather than just trying to protect you.

University has been pushed too hard in the last 2 decades. People who really shouldn’t be going to uni get pressured to go there because everyone thinks that’s what you need to be successful. The world needs lifeguards and plumbers and all sorts of things they don’t teach at uni

The best advice I heard was " if you're not sure that you should go to uni then you probably shouldn't go"
Uni is only useful for stem degrees, law degrees and medical degrees.
If you do not aspire to spend your whole life in one of those fields then don't go to uni.
