- It's another night in the underground bunker as Papa tries his best to entertain his son (you, the viewer) in this harsh and unforgiving new world.
If you don't know what ASMR is, check the bottom of this description for an explanation.
This parody is based on the film The Road, a favorite and Top 10 film of all time for me. The film is based on Cormac McCarthy's Pulitzer Prize winning novel of the same name.
I thought I would take a more whimsical (for the most part) approach rather than regurgitate what one might expect, by recreating and drawing out one of the more memorable scenes from the film that I felt had ASMR potential. I missed a couple of character nuances, such as the father coughing occasionally.
I hope you enjoy, especially if you are a fan of the film and/or the book.

What is ASMR?
To me, ASMR is 2 things: a sensation and a medium (like music for example).
The sensation itself (ASMR) stands for Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response and is the current (non-scientific) name given to the feeling characterized as a pleasurable tingling sensation felt in the head, scalp, back and other regions of the body in response to visual, auditory, tactile, olfactory, and/or cognitive stimuli, such as crinkling bags, hand movements, whispering, personal attention or watching someone perform a task. It's like goosebumps, but much more pleasant.
ASMR videos, the medium, are not only meant to help induce the sensation or "tingles" in the viewer, but also help provide a relaxing, calming and soothing experience for the viewer. They often help those dealing with anxiety, stress, headaches, insomnia, mental health issues, concentrating, studying and more. It is quite therapeutic, for both the creator and recipient, which is not that much different than the mediums of music and painting, for example.
Many people who do not experience ASMR still enjoy the videos for their calming and sleepy effect.

so i have an idea for an RP if you want to try it at some point... the alchemist. youve talked about certain characters having specific "secret mixtures" for stuff (like the pet from a man's best friend and the lovecraftian mr rodgers) but it would be cool to get a roleplay with the alchemist who made all of this... maybe add some sounds from mixing things in a wooden bowl, a pestle and mortar to prepare ingredients, bottle cap sounds as you open the containers, hand motions and some R'lyehian as an incantation over the mixture. of course the viewer could be there willingly or brought there to be experimented on. either way i would love to see this done.

And then he could speak in a happy-go-lucky Jack Skellington voice but still quietly enough that it doesn't overwhelm us with references to small objects and subject matters in the actual movie. Just my idea on how one video could go, but if he made a video like that, HOO that would be a (desperate attempt at a pun) Christmas Miracle :D
