WOOWWWW Great Job!! I am currently searching for ideas on what we can do with our 1900 Victorian entryway and upper hallway which is currently messy with thick lining paper. I like that these boards would cover the lines of the wallpaper and we can just paint a couple laters of thick paint. I think this would look super and in keeping with our period property! X

How did you determine spacing if the first/last stud wasn't 16'' from the wall? For example if it was 12'', would you just have a smaller rectangle than the others?

What about the wall texture… don’t you usually use smooth boards with board and batten??

My walls have very minimal texture. If you have orange peel or thick texture, it's a great idea to skim coat or apply smooth boards.
