I have one, but sometimes the games don't run completely smoothly (cyberpunk) and sometimes the games suddenly crash.
Edit: This problem was solved by adjusting my settings and the use of a monitor, works like a charm!

I currently have a Yoga 9i and am looking to set up a similar situation in 2022 to what you have here.
Im hoping to get a bigger boost In gaming, as productivity and work is done well due to the i7 & 16gb ram.
Do you have any experience running more demanding games through this setup? Would love to hear your experience

Yes, I will have some benchmark videos coming out at some point. We have run it with the GTX 960 and the GTX 1060. He mainly plays Fortnite, but recently has started running Apex Legends. I also ran benchmarks for Red Dead Redemption 2. The 960 would not run Red Dead Redemption 2 well, but it does OK on the 1060.
I just got a 3080 TI from the Newegg Shuffle and I am excited to see how the benchmark performs.
It really has been a great setup for our use case. There are minor weird issues from time to time. Like having to open the laptop screen to wake it up. And if you reboot the laptop while plugged into the eGPU it gets weird and will have a Bitlocker error. However if you just unplug it while you reboot it and it is fine. There is a setting that some laptops have so you don't get the reboot issue, but our specific Yoga C940 does not have that option

in theory it should work automatically I think, but I did find at times it could be a bit wonky. So I would recommend once you put the new GPU in the eGPU don't just check for an update, but reinstall the driver, maybe even reinstall geforce.

USB4 supports Thunderbolt 4 but heavily dependent on the laptop/PC because the specification for USB4 is very vague.
Ensure your USBC supports PCI-E tunnelling. Best way is either Google your laptop + eGPU support, or buy this from somewhere with a return policy and test it then return if doesn’t work

Your laptop has to be thunderbolt compatible, without it you’re just plugging it into the usbc port, which is not capable of running an eGpu. I recommend getting a MacBook or a Razer blade, or whatever you can afford with a thunder bolt 3 or 4

@@yeonsharien depending on the system and if you have BitLocker enabled, you may have to unplug it prior to doing a full boot. Sometimes BitLocker doesn't like external thunderbolt devices. And in some cases there are settings in the Bios to allow those external thunderbolt devices. But that will vary by vendor, the same settings may not apply for Lenovo vs Dell vs LG.
