It's understandable, not his fault the last few Bond films he was in were poorly written.
Plasma Octopus I agree. I loved Goldeneyr but the two after that, they were forgettable at best. Seem like the same thing happened with Daniel Craig except he was the one to quit.
They built up Bond soooooo well in Skyfall which is my favorite Bond film, but they fucked it up right after. I have no idea what the fuck they were thinking with Spectre, I absolutely hated that movie. I don't get why not just wait until they have a good script before they make a movie? But today they don't care, it's just a shame they threw away another good actor.
