Adam doesn't take into account that multiplexes would probably play Tenet on all or most of their screens at one time, as there are very few alternatives. Even at half capacity, Tenet would probably make a lot more money because its the only thing that would be in theatres.
I'm not confident that theatres could attract enough people to fill that many showings, even at half capacity, or 33% as some theatres have done. I wouldn't go to a movie theatre unless I was fairly certain that I wouldn't catch COVID-19 (for instance, if I had been vaccinated). Ok, since none of these guys bothered to research anything about AMC, or movie theater history in general, here's a quick summary: 1. This put them in a huge amount of debt that they were just beginning to pay off at the beginning of the year. 2. 3:07 When he says the original does we mean the actually original or the ramake that we all know. Or scary thought does he think the last one is the original.
Ppl typically haven't seen, or refer to the original black and white Scarface. DePalma's version does such a better job that it's synonymous with being "the original". Besides, there's really no similarities between the two besides the title and vague description of the set-up.
I think the best animated show on TV (especially if we're talking adult animation) is BoJack Horseman. Best love interest in a non-romance is Drive, I'd say. The music and cinematography sell it without a word being said.
It's my favorite show, period. Was surprised to hear Adam didn't really care for it considering the fact that it seems to be right up his alley. I do understand why, cuz he only watched season 1, which is DRASTICALLY weaker than others. 1. Season 6 10/10 2. Season 5 10/10 3. Season 3 10/10 4. Season 4 10/10 5. Season 2 10/10 1. Season 1 7/10
Alex thank you so much for recommending this. I absolutely loved it! I will probably always think that Theif starring James Caan had the best heist scenes. But Sexy Beast is a close second. The score mixed so well with the heist and the intensity of the flashback. And then Sir Ben motherfuckin' Kingsley was amazing! The ending caught me off guard. Rabbit man was creepy as fuck.
With what Luca did with Suspiria, I think the remake of Scarface will be good (haven’t scene the original either, so I’ll have nothing to compare it to lol).
I really do agree with Adam about Rick and Morty. I feel that the episodes nowadays just want to showcase outlandish, silly stories with a mean tinge. It’s a shame because when it uses its dark edge for more serious, lore-related stuff, I think it really works. But the writers sadly do express disinterest. To be fair though, they have SIX seasons to write episodes for.
27:00 there are reasons they act that way, most of them have to do with taxes. If we changed the rules on taxes many more corporations would build liquid assets to survive downturns. As it is now, if you aren’t spending that profit on expanding your company then you will be handing it over to the taxman.

Corporations do run our government though, so I could see some way they get lawmakers to overturn it in which case disney could open their own theaters and run everything. That's worst case scenario though.
The first time I saw the thumbnail and read the word “retrospective” in the title I legitimately thought Neil Had died
They bring up the Big Lebowski elements and don’t even mention Logan urinating on the carpet. They even discuss that scene before touching on the Lebowski references.
It's not a movie but I think the show Atlanta is incredible at portraying racism in a realistic/nuanced way
If everyone is looking for a movie that mirrors the craziness happening currently, go watch La Haine. The film is on the Criterion Channel but it deserves a watch no matter what.
One of my favourites, such a fantastic film
I wonder if it was intentional recommending movies by music video director after recommending a movie by a music video director
Artemis fowl next podcast yeah?
Unless they’ve read the books would there be any point? The movie is trash in all aspects so there isn’t much point unless there’s the book comparison perspective to talk about imo
Dar5k16 I mean the hell the film went through to me made and the fact they payed 125 million for it. Also there’s just so much trash in it too which could be fun
Ceanu Leaves thats a fair point. Let’s see if they can even be bothered to watch it and then talk about it
3:07 When he says the original does we mean the actually original or the ramake that we all know. Or scary thought does he think the last one is the original.
Ppl typically haven't seen, or refer to the original black and white Scarface. DePalma's version does such a better job that it's synonymous with being "the original". Besides, there's really no similarities between the two besides the title and vague description of the set-up.
You guys should talk about La Haine
GREAT FILM
I think the best animated show on TV (especially if we're talking adult animation) is BoJack Horseman.
Best love interest in a non-romance is Drive, I'd say. The music and cinematography sell it without a word being said.
I need to rewatch season 6 of bojack fuck that got me. I think It ended up spinning its wheels as a show just a tiny bit too often but otherwise great
It's my favorite show, period. Was surprised to hear Adam didn't really care for it considering the fact that it seems to be right up his alley. I do understand why, cuz he only watched season 1, which is DRASTICALLY weaker than others.
1. Season 6 10/10
2. Season 5 10/10
3. Season 3 10/10
4. Season 4 10/10
5. Season 2 10/10
1. Season 1 7/10
I wonder how hard it is to talk about Neil Breen without slipping up and saying you watched RLM's video on him.
@Luigi Nastro Sardonicast are hack frauds after all
in mad max: fury road i think the romance between the one lady and the warboy is pretty essential to the thesis of the movie
Guys, Ralph’s at the bottom of the ocean again 😭
An operation mindcrime film adapted from the album would be amazing.
Don is the flipside of Johnny from Naked imho.
One of my favorite lines from Social Network: "I'm 6'5", 220 and there's two of me."
Rabbit man was creepy as fuck.
glazer's last short is available on Mubi
1:10:06 "I mean he knew what he was doing" yeah but he still did it. Ironic cringe is still cringe.
I would love you guys to cover Kung Pow so I can spout quotes for an hour.
With what Luca did with Suspiria, I think the remake of Scarface will be good (haven’t scene the original either, so I’ll have nothing to compare it to lol).
Ralph, transmitting from the Space Station today I see. 3:13
Don't forget guys, the Breen-u-mentary is in glorious Standard Definition, a must-have for true Breenlievers!
It isn't a sardonicast without YMS' Iconic intros
Ralph really doesn't give a shit anymore.
Three professional, independent, sardonic podcasters...
You guys should talk about The Other Side of the Wind, I’d be fascinated to hear what you all think.
3:10 oh you mean the one from the 1930s?
Neil does not autograph the DVDs anymore. He hasn't for a few years. I've asked every time I've ordered anything new and he ignored the request(s).
PLEASE DO THE DOLLARS TRILOGY!!!!!
