    pre, I received the tv last week. I tried copying the settings on avs forum but they made the tv dim and colors are dull. I now also use standard.. and color enhancer is set on low or high..and hdr tone mapping on active. I used to like color accuracy but this tv is really good for bright, vibrant colors and pictures can really pop. I just need to tone down blue and red a little bit. I love this tv. Thanks for your video

    Picture quality will improve if you turn contrast enhancer processing off and also if you use movie or filmmaker mode instead of standard when in HDR mode.

  • @Itzjakebruh
    @Itzjakebruh 7 месяцев назад +3

    Put the picture in movie mode and the color space to native and you can achieve a good picture. I used to love using contrast enhancer, but recently, I can’t go back to a regular standard picture with contrast enhancer. It’s shocking how much you lose detail but everyone has their own opinion preference?

    Turning off Dynamic Tone mapping is moronic. This is the best feature of Samsungs 3rd generation C series DSP parity with Sony. Not saying XR equivalent just we need HDR Dynamic Tone mapping to get that Sony like HDR pop.

      If you don’t want the tv to smooth out the picture and make the picture of fast moving things clearer, then turn the picture clarity settings off.
      But if you want the bells and whistles id recommend using auto and let the tv do the work to give us the best picture possible. I’m personally a gamer, so I use auto and love having the smoother picture.

    • @MikeMargolis-j8f
      @MikeMargolis-j8f Год назад +1

      @@chrisb474There's supposed to be separate settings for both formats - HDR requires full backlight and contrast in order for the panel to follow the mapping curve.

    • @BishBosh24
      @BishBosh24 8 месяцев назад +1

      @chrisb474 HDR only. These settings on SDR would be far too bright and look too saturated.. Plus tone mapping is actually NA on SDR. I disagree with your setting for contrast enhancer in HDR set to high, that's waaaay too saturated imo.

    • @MikeMargolis-j8f
      @MikeMargolis-j8f 8 месяцев назад +1

      @@BishBosh24 That makes total sense. I knew these couldn't be for both; you can't max out backlight and contrast for SDR unless you want a COMPLETELY inaccurate image. Plus, if you run SDR at max settings like that, HDR will have little wow effect when you view it.
      I run my Samsung NU8000 at "11" out of "50" on backlight for SDR because I'm in a dark room when watching DVDs and Blu-rays, and keep Local Dimming on Low. For HDR, all settings are pretty much at their defaults, with Local Dimming on High (even though this produces MASSIVE blooming).
      I also agree that Contrast Enhancer isn't necessary on these Samsungs with HDR - especially in a dark room. This enhancement may be beneficial if you're watching HDR content in a bright environment.
