KG. In every side by side comparison that I’ve seen on RUclips between the woled G4 and Qd-Oled, the G4 impressed me more in most scenes. In fact, the majority of the people in comment sections agreed. I’m no expert, so if you can, please explain why you consider qd-oled the superior tech to woled no matter what. Am I supposed to go against my own eyes? lol I’m not saying the woled is the better tech but a G4 certainly doesn’t look inferior to my eyes going up against s90c/d and A95L. Is it because I’m watching on RUclips and its messing with the white color on the Qd-oled’s, maybe? 🤔And I would like to also know what tv you think has the best looking picture at the moment. Thanks man! Love your channel!
QD-OLED is the superior tech. However, LG does a great job with what they have. It comes down to their processing. Also, you might prefer the image of an MLA OLED because many times the HDR impact would be greater. With a white subpixel, anything white in a scene like a bright white light or shiny objects will have much more punch compared to QD-OLED. There’s no denying that there’s better color luminance and color volume in QD-OLED though, so it depends on what your eyes prefer. I had an S90C and had issues with frame skipping and artifacts in motion. Loved everything else. Returned it and got a G3 and though it has some disadvantages, the processing and HDR impact is much better to my eyes. There’s no prefect TV and you gotta decide what looks best to you!
QD-OLED is the superior technology if everything else is either equal or comparable including the anti-reflective/anti-glare coating, the processor, the software, cooling hardware, Wi-Fi, Ethernet, HDMI input ports, the power supply unit, and other support hardware. LG Electronics has purpose-built its Alpha 9 processor to drive LG Display’s WOLED panels and has adapted it for the second generation WOLED panels. LG Electronics tried to adapt the processor for the G3’s third generation WOLED panels with MLA, but got lots of bugs like worse black crush, worse near black chrominance overshoot, and a bad game mode as a result. LG Electronics released the G4 with the Alpha 11 processor which either fixes or mitigates those bugs, and greatly improves the general video processing compared to the Alpha 9. My guess is that the Alpha 9 has hardware that could not be tuned to fix or mitigate those bugs, so LG Electronics developed a processor with new hardware that could either fix or mitigate those bugs was developed to allow it to compete against QD-OLED. Meanwhile, Samsung Electronics still believes that its One Connect Box and 8K “Neo QLED” LCD TVs are the future, so it wasted its resources on developing an 8K processor that is impressive but is going into a dead end market since human eyes generally can’t perceive 8K at typical home TV sizes and viewing distances. (Human eyes need movie theater-sized screens to perceive 8K.) This waste leaves Samsung’s 4K TVs with processors that are good but not as good as LG’s processors, allowing LG to beat Samsung’s superior QD-OLED with superior processing. I actually like the matte coating because sharp reflections bother me more than blurred reflections, but others prefer sharp reflections over blurred reflections. Samsung should offer premium models with both glossy or matte screens, but has chosen to nerf the S90D to push the S95D with its matte screen that some like me like and others hate. Samsung also makes more money off of its “Neo QLED” LCD TVs than its QD-OLED TVs, so it prefers to sell “Neo QLED” LCD TVs and keeps OLED as a backup in case China starts to restrict LCD panel sales to non-Chinese companies in order to give Chinese brands like TCL and Hisense an advantage.
It’s the superior tech if you just think about it in this terms, A80L vs A95L A95L is just flat out better in so many areas, now add hypothetically add MLA to the A80L would that even things out it would in some areas but with color it won’t so QD OLED will still have huge panel advantages. Now the tricky part comes down to what the manufacturers are doing with the panels they all add their own personal recipes. There’s things the G4 does where you’ll think it can look better and there’s things that the S95D does the G4 just can’t achieve due to its use of WOLED regardless of MLA
it is very confusing but am not surprised since Samsung has been known to do this with there neo qled depending on size you would get a different panel and also with their phones depending on where you live you you would get a different chipset.
So does Sony and LG. Remember no one else talk shit about other brand unless you’re rep and retail colleagues who is biased towards and toxic fan boy who always recommend the brand he prefers bc he/she got an opinion. Which one is you ?

You know what's crazy? I just noticed that in my region, which is Egypt, none of the OLED Samsung TVs mention being Quantum. There's literally a big chance that none of these models whether it's the S90D or the S95D are even QD-OLED where I live 💀💀
It’s the same in the US market. Sony clearly states that the A95L is a QD OLED on their website. Why does Samsung purposely make it more confusing for consumers?
@@TechWithKG After looking into some of the names, I've noticed that all available sizes of the S90D and S95D in my region (only sizes available are 55", 65" and 77") share the same last few letters. I did however notice that the 83" size of the S90C has different letters and I'm pretty sure that the 83" is confirmed to be W-OLED globally, so I'm assuming that means that all of the available sizes of the S90D and the S95D are QD-OLED, which is strange since they don't mention being Quantum HDR on the website. Pretty confusing. 🤔
It’s very confusing which is why I’d try matching it with S90C from last year or S95D this year to see if it’s QD. Also check 55 65 77 S90D if the last four line up with any 83” Samsung OLED that means it’s W OLED that’s your best indicator.
So, am I correct that if I buy a 65 inch QN65S90DAFXZA Samsung in the US it will be QD-OLED based on the FXZA "and" the size? What about the S9ODD 65" in warehouse stores Are they QD-OLED because they are 65 inch? Thank you so much for your video. It is the only info I have truely trusted. Just want to make sure I interrupted it correctly since I know nothing about tvs but based on what I read I felt the S90D was a good choice until I read about the lottery panels. Thank you so much.

I had a Samsung DLP at one point and the lamp would blow on holidays after 10 hours of being on 😂😂😂 Hated the effing thing. I think it needed a motherboard change too. But since I watch soccer, tennis, and F1, the Sony is mandatory since I can see jerseys, the ball, and the text, and fans so much clearly. Also mandatory with gaming especially the Xbox One and PS4 - dodged a bullet there as it added DLSS to the image almost.

They even mixing va and ips panels on their crystal uhd models , i recently bought a 55du8000 only to get its uses an Ips/ADS panel rather than the advertised VA one
In my country, the code for each size is really different from what you mention in the video, it turns out that the 48, 65, 77 and 83-inch models end in EXZL, while the 55-inch model ends in KXZL.
What’s 77 and 65 and what’s your S95D say?
@@TechWithKG The 65 and 77 inch models have the same code as the 48 and 83 inch models, all of them end in EXZL, the only different one is the 55 inch model, which ends in KXZL. On the s95d side, in my country, Colombia, it is a model that is not officially marketed. Likewise, the 55-inch model arrived the other week, I will make an update when I check the type of panel it comes with.
So the 65 and 77 will be W OLED in this case. 55 is likely QD OLED if you can look at last years 55 65 77 S90C see if that ends in KXZL as well.
Thank you for this clarification, i was about to order s90d 77' but it turns out that it has woled
Bummer! S90C 77 available for you? If so that should absolutely be QD oled
If in the UK, looks like the 65" S90D is the only version with QD OLED. The last few characters match those of the S95D. 48, 55,77,83 all have a different code. So those are likely WOLED
What is the name of your model ?
I contacted Samsung recently who told me both 55 + 65 are QD. (England)
Nope just the 65inch is the QD-OLED in the S90D range. All the other sizes are WOLED panels

@@fulltimeweaboo whats your model number?
How should i know my s90d has whether gen 2 panel or gen 3 panel. Can we know that ?
Samsung s90D 55inch in India is qd oled, just bought it for 100k inr
it is very confusing but am not surprised since Samsung has been known to do this with there neo qled depending on size you would get a different panel and also with their phones depending on where you live you you would get a different chipset.
So does Sony and LG. Remember no one else talk shit about other brand unless you’re rep and retail colleagues who is biased towards and toxic fan boy who always recommend the brand he prefers bc he/she got an opinion. Which one is you ?
In NZ, i see something like SXNZ for the 55" and 65". The same code is present for S95D.
Yes that’s good they are QD OLED
So is the 77" version of the s90d a 3rd gen panel like the s95d? Or is it a 2nd gen qdoled panel?
2nd gen. Only S95D is 3rd gen
Hey man i'm from Saudi, and i'm just figuring out about all of this.
I already bought my 77" S90D and waiting my delivery, tried to check the last letters of my models.

Since i think in the video Asia wasn't mentioned. Appreciate the efforts and love from Saudi Arabia 💙
I'd appreciate it if anyone could help, so i can return it before it's delivered :) thanks all
Based on the Indian variants, looks like the 77 and definitely the 85 are WOLED. The 55 and 65 might be QD-OLED. But check the panel’s pixel structure in the store with a loupe, first. If it looks anything like 3:34 it’s WOLED.
I can confirm that they are using W oled panels on this tv in the Philippines. I looked at an S90C 65 inch and an S90D 55 inch. Both have W oled panels at the store where I saw them.

I hope someone in the UK could confirm these: the end of the ref models for 48, 55, 77 and 83 inches is EXXU and only the 65''l has TXXU ending code, according to Samung UK. So I presume only the 65'' has QD-Oled in here. One month ago a rep from Samsung told me via chat that the 55'' was QD.

Check the last for letters see if they match up with S95D 100% the ones that do are QD OLED

Yes if it were WOLED the S90C is much better
They match up... But now I'm wondering if the S95D has a quantum dot display in Brazil!! 😭😭
