This really helped me. I'm attending my first quilt retreat in September....your video is a couple years old, but nevertheless, very informative. Thanks!
🙏🤩 this was great - thx again. I always have tons of wips going - I like to take multiple machine ones so I have choices & can “pollinate” many during the retreat. For varied reasons I also take at least one hand project.
Great tips I just wanted to say thank you for the list. I’m going to see if I can find it in your website. I have had my xtra quilting supplies in a basket set aside so I can make a go to bag. All I need is a list since I’ve never been on a retreat before. I’m so glad you put these videos out it really is helpful. Thank you
I always bring a portable table light. The lightning is usually not as good as a personal sewing room. I bring a simple, small or almost complete project for the first day to get into my sewing groove. Hotels and resort rooms usually have irons and ironing boards and it makes me get up and move. Retreats are lots of fun even if you go alone. A Missouri Star retreat is on my bucket list.
Just a short time ago I received a recall on this one I showed. I also have a small Oliso. I do not have an Amazon link for the Steamfast one that was recalled. Here is one for the Oliso. amzn.to/3LKgrhv
Where is your list for what to take? I would like to print it out. I don't go to quilt retreats but I do take my sewing stuff to both my son's homes (they live about 5-6hrs away) when we go for a week. While they're at work I can sew or work on projects. Also, they usually have things they want repaired or for me to make for them lol. I made a bag to carry my small swivel caddy with sewing supplies in it. Thank you for your tips. Some I didn't think of.😊 😊😊😊😊
Great video! I really enjoy seeing what is in other’s bags. I think you have thought of everything! The two things I saw in your suggestions that I need to add to my bag are extra zip lock bags and a machine mat. I have been able to take my SewEz table to my retreat but if I discover other retreats where that’s not possible I will need a mat. I really like your use of salvages in your machine mat… Another project in my future. Thanks for sharing!
I love the bags of being prepared much more than I have been. You always give me great ideas to help making it more prepared to have lots of fun and laughs!!! Now lets just GO!!!!!
Enjoyed your helpful tips!! Thanks.
Glad it was helpful!
If I ever get to go to a quilt retreat I will definitely be watching this again. I’ve been to scrapping retreats, kinda similar. Thanks Michelle
They are simply awesome!!!

Me too! I live an hour away to Missouri Quilt! I love going on my birthday in May.
Thank you for sharing!! Would you give an Amazon link for your mini iron? 😊

I am not sure how I can share my list with you. I tried to do it before and was not successful. Any ideas?
@@thesimplequilter7499 I don't know how to either. Maybe as a pdf?

Awesome video. I love you. ❤️
Thanks for being so supportive!!❤️
Thank you for these great ideas! What is the little blue cutter that you use for machine piecing? (Kind of triangular looking)
That is a thread cutter. Here is a link (affiliate) for one on Amazon:

@@thesimplequilter7499 thank you so much! I have never seen one like that!
Laura, It is truly one of my favorite tools! I like to use it to cut blocks apart when I chain piece. The Fat Quarter Shop sells them also.
Great tips for anyone going on a quilt retreat!
I hope so! Thanks for watching my videos!
A bottle of wine for the second night of the retreat!
Lol!
