@@marcricharsson not the same thing, tales characters all have a similar resource to manage ( AG) which determines your "combo" length relinks characters have way more depth and skill/ attack cycling it seems.

Nice breakdowns! Its my first time in the Granblueverse I feel that I'm loving the characters that keeps pressure up like Percival, Narayama, Lancelot, and Charlotta
Vane will be my main boi! And it’s not even close. He will be highly needed in hard end game content. So I will be unIocking him first. love playing tank/support in games, but also be able to dish out some good damage as well. Vane’s defensive bubble ability “ Rampart” is going to be a must for end game and very popular. Nothing like taking heavy aggro,buffing with defensive/offensive skills for my squishy heavy dps teammates on my team so they can get their broken 10 million attack out lol(Io, Siegfried etc) . I love that feeling and it never gets old, I’m all about team play and putting my team first. Out of all the tank characters so far, he seems and looks like the most complete tank, which is my type of play style. Also he uses a big boi two handed halberd great axe, which is like my favourite weapon type to use . Vane just has everything I want in a character , can’t wait🔥🔥. I'm thinking of playing Percival. He looks simple and fun and he's one of my favorites from the mobile. I hope Shalem gets added at some point, but I honestly doubt it will happen.
So far, I'm expecting 24 characters, four for each element. So far, we only have two Earth characters, four Fire characters, three Water characters and all three of them are melee, so I expect one ranged character, three Light characters, and three Dark characters. Metera is obviously wind so that leaves us with Gran, Yodarha, and Metera as Wind characters. Keep in mind this game started development back in 2015 (back when Blue, the Djeeta clone was originally envisioned to be the main character) and stated to take place after the events of the Phantagrande Skydom, and before the Nalhegrande Skydom. I doubt they're going to add 50+ characters. As you know, too many characters can easily mean oversaturation and power creep, and even more development time requirements as well. Imagine if one of them was broken tier and one of them was Dehya/Qiqi tier to where nobody uses them in the endgame content because they were basically that bad.
element matching hasn't seemed to be too important in regards to damage output from what we've seen so far, so I'm not expecting 4 of each element. While the numbers per element have been rather close, the priority seems to be who adds a unique playstyle while also being a highly recognized character. That said, if we do assume they go for an even amount of characters per element prior to potential characters added through updates, I feel the most likely characters to get added would be Earth: Vira due to the same reason as Yoda in Wind, though I can potentially see them put her in dark. The other 2 options I can see them going is rather limited. Outside of Vira, the only notable character I can see potentially being added is Baal and Medusa, as the only other notable characters that are Earth or had an Earth variant are already in the game (or would be more suited to another element) Water: Societte I feel has a good chance and could add a unique support focused playstyle, though I could also see Mishra or Aglovale Wind: This ones a bit tricky and could go a multitude of ways, but I see more likely contenders to be Scathacha or Grimnir, depending on how development for the game went....though I suspect characters as late as 2020 are making it in due to Wind Yoda. Dark: Cagliostro, Vira, Orchid, or Vania. I genuinely can't see it being anything other than these 4. Considering they put Yoda in wind instead of water, I suspect Vira will be in a different element if they do put her in the game, potentially earth. Light: I don't see Zooey being playable in case Grand Order ends up being a boss fight, and unless they put Vira in this element, I feel like the only other options are Jeanne and Lucio....and the latter option still feels unlikely

I didn't need help picking since I know I'm only really gonna play djeeta lancelot and zeta, but it is news to me that you unlock them that way, figured they'd be acquired automatically via story progression.
Okay a lot of these characters all look really different and really really fun to play as so I'm definitely excited to see how this will go for online teams. That said though I do hope that a certain sexy sheep is also playable in the roster but seeing as we should be getting a whole bunch of characters later on I don't think it'll be a problem. Plus at least we got the sexy cowgirl so that's a positive note but nice to look at all these characters!
like grandblue fighting game where people usually choose a main to play with 90% of the time is it the case here too? picking 1 main u like and grinding for him/her coz endgame seems to be co-op type raids and boss fights,seems inefficient to be focusing on several units unless the player is just playing for the story?
@@viy4581 I'm guessing in the beginning it's probably that but you will need to switch to a different character to the role in a group so while you could maybe theoretically have the same character, it does feel like that if everyone has a different role then it would be nice to mix it up a bit. We will have to see when the actual game drops.
There's one thing I still don't understand. I'd like to know how do I actually switch to all these characters other then the Captain I start as. Does the game force you to play as the Captain until a certain point in the story or something like that? How can I choose another character to play as? Cheers
You play as the captain for the hour or so, but after that a tutorial will show you how to add party members. From that point onwards you should be able to play as the other characters, but the captain will still need to be a party member during the story.
I only have 1 hope and 1 hope only. That Yodarha gets his insanely sick suicide robes outfit. Its a pretty awesome white robe and hat he wears for while hunting a former student thats going on killing spreees.
can i ask what do you mean by 'more moves can be unlocked from masteries' ? it is meant that there will be more actions than what you presented on the action lists ? i mean even if its not the case its okay because you explain how each character have passive that add more depth to them.
I am trying to figure out if all characters will be involved in the story? It seems unlikely that 20+ characters will be involved in the story, espacially if they can be unlocked in any order? Do we have any information regarding this? Also what is the difference between the six "allies" on the official website and the ones below that has no category at all? Maybe only the allies are involved in the story? But what happens if you play one of the characters that are not involved in the story? I am so confused.
I think allies are non playable characters like lyria, they are called guests in game, I think that one guy in the story gameplay who has glasses and flies the ship might not be playable. The ones that have no categories? I dont know what you mean but there is the captain, lyria and wrm who are not playable, then a section with all playable characters and lastly a section for enemies/foes. Who you never know, might end up being playable. Seems a bit weird to have all these human enemies who have full tool sets but not let us play as them in end game.
was really hoping there was a character with a polearm and high mobility/air-combo potential, so looks like I should be aiming for Zeta as one of my first unlocks, can't wait to try out different characters/playstyles as well.
So if I compare your review with more classic mmorpg classes then: Ferry = summoner/shaman Narmaya = looks like a samurai but plays like a monk Percival = actual samurai? dark knight? Yodarha = one handed dual swordsman/fencer Zeta = dragoon Seigfried = berserker? Vaseraga = offensive tank Lancelot = controller Vane = paladin/heavy knight Charlotta = like Lancelot, but maybe a bit more support skills? Ghandagoza = monk/tank hybrid?

So, we've seen both Katalina (one for being in her enhanced state with Ares and one without meter) and Percival have two different SBAs, very interesting to see that it might be a thing across the board.
I want to know if there's a way to scale down your power level so that you can do lower leveled quests and retain their intended difficulty. Is this a thing in the game?
@@Stinkyremy No, I'm asking the opposite of that. If I don't do a quest when I get it or I want to replay it later, but my character is high level, I would just one-shot everything and it wouldn't be very fun, right? So a way to temporarily lower your level to match the quest would be an important feature, I think.
@@OmegaMetroid93 I get you but by the looks of it there is an easy, normal and hard version of the quests and each have a power cap, meaning that is what level you should be when you do it and each drop 1 time and repeatable rewards. So when you reach a power cap, say the power cap of the hard version, the easy and normal version rewards should be useless too you by then and if they have any use its just to upgrade low level weapons or whatever, which you would want to run through as fast as you could to limit the grind. Point is the quests will probably be the same on each difficulty just it increases damage output and taken to continue to give you a challenge at higher levels, and to pad out the grind by hiding resources you need to upgrade and reach the higher caps behind the higher levels. Meaning at end game there will always be a way to have the quests be challenging as well as a cake walk. My only experience with this is GBFVS as I never played the mobile game but in that, basically you had to complete the game twice to get the stuff you needed to max your characters, let alone grind, which just game from what they did in the mobile game. This looks exactly the same though we will probably have to do the quests 3 different times seeing there are 3 different difficulty levels.
huh, so half the characters I'm interested in are already unlocked at the start of the game. lol (Katalina and Rosetta) The other half are Ferry (I like pet classes) and Namaya who looks like she would feel rewarding to master. Zeta looks like she could be a lot of fun. I like spear users and the focus on aerial combat could be a lot of fun. Kinda makes me think of Judith in Tales of Vesperia.
Obviously Narmaya for me, she's not only my favorite Female Character from Granblue Fantasy Videogame and Anime Series but is also my favorite Granblue Fantasy, Character in general.
Would love some more info on how healing in general works for missions ie will bad teammates drag you down? And where the coverage for my rosetta katalina dream team?
Certain characters can heal other party members, and you can also use potions or small health orbs that drop from enemies to heal. I talked about Katalina in my gameplay preview video, but I'll eventually make a separate video for the starting characters.

I like the idea of unlocking characters in any order instead of unlocking like normal.
The plus to this is allowing you to use your favorite right away. The downside is that it means they will have little to no impact on the story.

That said though I do hope that a certain sexy sheep is also playable in the roster but seeing as we should be getting a whole bunch of characters later on I don't think it'll be a problem. Plus at least we got the sexy cowgirl so that's a positive note but nice to look at all these characters!
like grandblue fighting game where people usually choose a main to play with 90% of the time is it the case here too? picking 1 main u like and grinding for him/her coz endgame seems to be co-op type raids and boss fights,seems inefficient to be focusing on several units unless the player is just playing for the story?
@@viy4581 I'm guessing in the beginning it's probably that but you will need to switch to a different character to the role in a group so while you could maybe theoretically have the same character, it does feel like that if everyone has a different role then it would be nice to mix it up a bit. We will have to see when the actual game drops.

There's one thing I still don't understand. I'd like to know how do I actually switch to all these characters other then the Captain I start as. Does the game force you to play as the Captain until a certain point in the story or something like that? How can I choose another character to play as? Cheers
You play as the captain for the hour or so, but after that a tutorial will show you how to add party members. From that point onwards you should be able to play as the other characters, but the captain will still need to be a party member during the story.

I am trying to figure out if all characters will be involved in the story? It seems unlikely that 20+ characters will be involved in the story, espacially if they can be unlocked in any order? Do we have any information regarding this? Also what is the difference between the six "allies" on the official website and the ones below that has no category at all? Maybe only the allies are involved in the story? But what happens if you play one of the characters that are not involved in the story? I am so confused.
I think allies are non playable characters like lyria, they are called guests in game, I think that one guy in the story gameplay who has glasses and flies the ship might not be playable.
The ones that have no categories? I dont know what you mean but there is the captain, lyria and wrm who are not playable, then a section with all playable characters and lastly a section for enemies/foes. Who you never know, might end up being playable.
Seems a bit weird to have all these human enemies who have full tool sets but not let us play as them in end game.
was really hoping there was a character with a polearm and high mobility/air-combo potential, so looks like I should be aiming for Zeta as one of my first unlocks, can't wait to try out different characters/playstyles as well.

So if I compare your review with more classic mmorpg classes then:
Ferry = summoner/shaman
Narmaya = looks like a samurai but plays like a monk
Percival = actual samurai? dark knight?
Yodarha = one handed dual swordsman/fencer
Zeta = dragoon
Seigfried = berserker?
Vaseraga = offensive tank
Lancelot = controller
Vane = paladin/heavy knight
Charlotta = like Lancelot, but maybe a bit more support skills?
Ghandagoza = monk/tank hybrid?
Even though I already played as her in the demo, The first character I'm gonna try to unlock is Zeta. 😍 She's really fun to play as and she's one of my favorite female characters

So, we've seen both Katalina (one for being in her enhanced state with Ares and one without meter) and Percival have two different SBAs, very interesting to see that it might be a thing across the board.
I want to know if there's a way to scale down your power level so that you can do lower leveled quests and retain their intended difficulty. Is this a thing in the game?
Would it even matter if you can do the quests at higher difficulties when you reach them?
@@Stinkyremy No, I'm asking the opposite of that. If I don't do a quest when I get it or I want to replay it later, but my character is high level, I would just one-shot everything and it wouldn't be very fun, right? So a way to temporarily lower your level to match the quest would be an important feature, I think.
@@OmegaMetroid93 I get you but by the looks of it there is an easy, normal and hard version of the quests and each have a power cap, meaning that is what level you should be when you do it and each drop 1 time and repeatable rewards. So when you reach a power cap, say the power cap of the hard version, the easy and normal version rewards should be useless too you by then and if they have any use its just to upgrade low level weapons or whatever, which you would want to run through as fast as you could to limit the grind.
Point is the quests will probably be the same on each difficulty just it increases damage output and taken to continue to give you a challenge at higher levels, and to pad out the grind by hiding resources you need to upgrade and reach the higher caps behind the higher levels.
Meaning at end game there will always be a way to have the quests be challenging as well as a cake walk.
My only experience with this is GBFVS as I never played the mobile game but in that, basically you had to complete the game twice to get the stuff you needed to max your characters, let alone grind, which just game from what they did in the mobile game.
This looks exactly the same though we will probably have to do the quests 3 different times seeing there are 3 different difficulty levels.

huh, so half the characters I'm interested in are already unlocked at the start of the game. lol (Katalina and Rosetta)
The other half are Ferry (I like pet classes) and Namaya who looks like she would feel rewarding to master.
Zeta looks like she could be a lot of fun. I like spear users and the focus on aerial combat could be a lot of fun. Kinda makes me think of Judith in Tales of Vesperia.

Would love some more info on how healing in general works for missions ie will bad teammates drag you down? And where the coverage for my rosetta katalina dream team?
Certain characters can heal other party members, and you can also use potions or small health orbs that drop from enemies to heal. I talked about Katalina in my gameplay preview video, but I'll eventually make a separate video for the starting characters.
Narmaya, Perceval, Lancelot, and Siegfried all seem pretty cool.

My one criticism of ff7 remake was whenever you controlled a character in combat, the mob will always aggro to you, is this the case in Granblue?
Nope, Relink has an actual aggro system.
