    The Gourmia Air Fryer model GAF798 is the latest one to be found in Costco Canada. The Gourmia model GAF798 comes with a crisper basket, a multi-purpose rack, 5 preset cooking programs, and 5 cooking functions.
    I’ll be showing you how to clean the Gourmia air fryer. I’ll also show you how to use the Gourmia air fryer. I’ll prepare a variety of food using the air fryer which will be quick and will give you some tips on getting your food cooked perfectly every time.
    The Gourmia air fryer comes with a 7QT basket, slightly bigger than the previous 6QT basket that I reviewed earlier this year.
    If you want to watch that video you can do so here:
    • Crispy Chicken, Crunch...
    I’ll show you:
    How to make seekh kebabs in an air fryer
    How to make corn dogs in an air fryer
    How to make burgers in an air fryer
    How to make bread in an air fryer
    How to make veggie skewers in an air fryer
    All of these can be made in any air fryer. However, the temperature settings may vary. These are simple and easy air fryer recipes for beginners and for those that are always looking for new air fryer cooking ideas for dinner or any time of the time!
    TIPS
    The Gourmia air fryer has a hot plastic smell in the first few uses and (hopefully) eventually this will go away after a few uses.
    I’ll also show you the features of the Gourmia air fryer including how to change the temperature from Celsius to Fahrenheit.
    If you find the Gourmia air fryer loud you should be able to lower the beeping sound on the air fryer. I’ll also show how to turn off the beeping sound on the Gourmia air fryer.
    The only thing I would say is to avoid using the preset programs simply because they are set for very high temperatures and food almost always gets overcooked.
    Making dinner in an air fryer couldn’t be any simpler. The Gourmia air fryer has all the necessary cooking functions including Bake, Roast, and Dehydrate.

    I really enjoyed this informative and well presented review.
    I have watched several reviews on this unit and yours is the only one that shows how to change temperature between F° an C°, shut off superfluous beeps and how to pause the process.
    I found it to be the most useful review I have so far seen.
    Was the bread roll recipe the one from the included book or one of your own?

    What an excellent video! The garlic with the burgers reminds me of my mother's great cooking. I'm a Pwr XL fan but the Gourmias are nice also and you are showing that this is a perfect size to use for kebobs or use a small baking pan if needed. I bought one from Cosco last week. I also took it back the next day. The Gourmia Airfryer looks amazing. However, it smells like burnt plastic ‘before’ using. It made my head hurt and the fumes were overbearing. My next air fryer will be made from metal. That plastic smell did not burn away after running for 40 minutes empty. Air frying is great, but that plastic is toxic. Choose wisely if you hate chemical plastic smells. My wife demanded it go. The square shape fits more btw.

    • @MeemReviews
      @MeemReviews  2 года назад +1

      Yeah, there have been comments about the plastic smell, it's really hit and miss. My first one, the 6QT smelled bad for A LONG time, this newer one 7QT only smelled for the first run. It's a shame because it really is a great air fryer. Hope you found a more suitable one!

    @Bill97070 8 месяцев назад +1

    I just purchased mine and I was puzzled about how I'm going to use it, so I pan fry, microwave or big oven and mainly use the oven for baking. Cornbread, Costco Meat Loaf, sausages and I was concerned about the size. I see now I can break my cooking into smaller units. I see the value, less grease and savings in power use. The dry cooking is just different than the way I've cooked and I'm excited about starting to use it. I'm single and normally cook in batches and refrigerate it and use it for several meals and reheat it with a microwave. I'm wondering about the cost, quickness and ease comparing it to the microwave in the reheating cases.

    • @MeemReviews
      @MeemReviews  7 месяцев назад +1

      Because it's smaller in size it cooks much faster, wings and chicken are usually done in 20 mins, boneless meat 10-12 mins. If you're having to cook and freeze due to time constraints, this is very helpful and you can cook fresh daily. This also has a baking option that you can try it works well too! The reheat option is great, obviously not as fast as a microwave but it definitely heats and retains the texture of the food much better than a microwave, which will usually leave the food soggy. but it is all about trial and error, and keeping an eye on your food. Hope that helps!

    I was hoping to see something about how to clean up the pans and fryer after you've cooked food. My only concern is the clean up. Does the entire fryer get food splatter? Does it have a separate cooking bowl like a slow cooker that comes out for cleaning?

      I'm sure you would've checked that you're cooking 200 degrees celsius (400F) and not Fahrenheit (92F). Sounds like the air fryer is not hot enough. Perhaps run it empty and check (carefully) if its getting hot (just hover your hand above the basket or the basket itself should be hot) before trying to cook something. If not, then perhaps it is defective and you may need to exchange it.

    • @MeemReviews
      @MeemReviews  2 года назад +5

      Showing it can, yes, also biggest benefit, you don't have to use a big oven which can heat up the kitchen - even whole house/appt - also bills should be less because it's a smaller appliance.

    I like that I can "fry" something on a whim! An oil fryer takes so much more time to clean and prepare ruclips.net/user/postUgkxD4Qeo-HRLxMfom_PDinM_SBfes00qJsB a chore which usually kept me from frying all together. Also, the lack of needing oil to fry means that my family and I are eating healthier... while still enjoying the crispiness of fried foods.

      400 tends to scorch it

    • @MeemReviews
      @MeemReviews  2 года назад +2

      Depends on the food. 400F cooks the food on the outside, but inside is still raw sometimes, it's better to cook on a lower temp for a min or two longer to get food to thoroughly cook through. Also veggies tend to burn at 400F, I find. 375-390F is. a good range I like to use for most foods. Hope that helps.
