The Gourmia Air Fryer model GAF798 is the latest one to be found in Costco Canada. The Gourmia model GAF798 comes with a crisper basket, a multi-purpose rack, 5 preset cooking programs, and 5 cooking functions.
I’ll be showing you how to clean the Gourmia air fryer. I’ll also show you how to use the Gourmia air fryer. I’ll prepare a variety of food using the air fryer which will be quick and will give you some tips on getting your food cooked perfectly every time.
The Gourmia air fryer comes with a 7QT basket, slightly bigger than the previous 6QT basket that I reviewed earlier this year.
If you want to watch that video you can do so here:
• Crispy Chicken, Crunch...
I’ll show you:
How to make seekh kebabs in an air fryer
How to make corn dogs in an air fryer
How to make burgers in an air fryer
How to make bread in an air fryer
How to make veggie skewers in an air fryer
All of these can be made in any air fryer. However, the temperature settings may vary. These are simple and easy air fryer recipes for beginners and for those that are always looking for new air fryer cooking ideas for dinner or any time of the time!
TIPS
The Gourmia air fryer has a hot plastic smell in the first few uses and (hopefully) eventually this will go away after a few uses.
I’ll also show you the features of the Gourmia air fryer including how to change the temperature from Celsius to Fahrenheit.
If you find the Gourmia air fryer loud you should be able to lower the beeping sound on the air fryer. I’ll also show how to turn off the beeping sound on the Gourmia air fryer.
The only thing I would say is to avoid using the preset programs simply because they are set for very high temperatures and food almost always gets overcooked.
Making dinner in an air fryer couldn’t be any simpler. The Gourmia air fryer has all the necessary cooking functions including Bake, Roast, and Dehydrate.

I really enjoyed this informative and well presented review.
I have watched several reviews on this unit and yours is the only one that shows how to change temperature between F° an C°, shut off superfluous beeps and how to pause the process.
I found it to be the most useful review I have so far seen.
Was the bread roll recipe the one from the included book or one of your own?
Thank you very much! I appreciate that and I'm so glad you found it helpful! 🤩 The bread roll recipe is my own. I have recently created a dedicated air fryer group/community (since most keep asking for my recipes lol) please feel free to join and I will share the recipe and steps asap 😃 facebook.com/groups/theairfryerdiaries
What an excellent video! The garlic with the burgers reminds me of my mother's great cooking. I'm a Pwr XL fan but the Gourmias are nice also and you are showing that this is a perfect size to use for kebobs or use a small baking pan if needed. Your videos have great all around tips for air fryers. Thank you!
Thank you, I appreciate the comment. ☺️
Thank you! This is the best video for the beginners. Not only you showed how to start using Gourmia AF, but you also shared a few recipes along with some practical tips. And it's all done just under 14 minutes! Good job!

Excellent coverage. You were the first to point out reducing temp and increase time. Really appreciate as will be giving it a go this week as we purchased one for our camping trailer and with just the two us, will be perfect. Thanks again.

You're welcome and that's very kind of you to say, I appreciate the comment and support!
Excellent demo and very thorough review. Showing us how the food cooked and making all those recipes was so useful. That took a lot of time, and I am grateful for your hard work and good feedback. I just bought this from Costco, have never used an air fryer and eager to begin. I hope the power usage is less than a conventional oven. Subscribed!
Thank you so much for the comment, I appreciate it. Everything cooks differently and I was hoping to show that, and it looks like it is working for everyone. I'm glad to help! 😊
Thank you! I just got the 6 qt today, ordered thru Black Friday special.
And I don’t know where to start so this was very helpful. 💖🤗

Very detailed video thank you so much just ordered mine! Made my decision easier have been scoring the internet for an air fryer your review was fabulous thank you! ❤️
Awesome! glad I could help!
I found that u can make a sling by cutting a silicone baking liner into a strip lengthwise. I use it in the instant pot also. Thanks for your demo!
oh that's a cool tip, thank you!!
Very useful.nice
Glad you liked it
Thank you for this video. I have the gourmia 6qt, and love it. But I would like a bigger basket so am thinking of getting the 7qt. Could you tell me the dimensions of the cooking basket? Thanks again!
Hi great vid, thanks taking the time for making it. Sometimes you refrer to the other model , I'm not sure if i missed you saying the model of this one. I literally just got home with the airfry but not sure which model is the older or newer. I've not pluged it in yet and will return for the newer model, if need be. I looked in your description but i don't see it mentioned there
The previous model I reviewed was the 6QT GAF698. This is the 7QT GAF798. This one is much better. I hope it helps!
Hi thanks for the reply, i did buy the newer model this means, its working great so for even though its only about one or 2 weeks old
Finally, the only review which mentions the size of the basket.
Oh, that's interesting, since it's one of the main features, it need to be mentioned. Thanks for the comment!
I bought this one from Costco a few weeks ago and I love it!! It makes delicious food and preheats fast😁
Indeed it does!
Thank you for the encouragement I'm going to start using my gourmia airfryer
Great video! Could you elaborate on the baking pan that you used for the rolls, that is, a link or measurements.
Yes, I just used an 8inch round pan, but mine had handles, I'm sure you can find some without the handles.
Great review thank you. Hearing the views of someone who has used a piece of equipment rather than just trying sell it are always great. Your comment at the end about not sticking to the advised times being a prime example.
oh for sure! Thank you for the comment! I still use it and share lots of recipes and tips on my facebook page, feel free to follow! :)
I just bought this at costco today for 50 dollars. Have not looked into them at all or had any idea you could use them to make stuff outside of pizza rolls and egg rolls and other frozen junk food. I'm def going to try this for burgers and chicken. Thanks.
Oh you'll be amazed at all the healthy stuff you could make too! Try it... treat it like an oven. The only thing that is a no no is liquid foods. Hope that helps!
This is an exceptionally well made video, thank you. I purchased my Gourmia yesterday and will give it a spin (after running it to eliminate any plastic scents).
Thank you, I really appreciate the comment. I hope you enjoy your Gourmia air fryer! I also have more air fryer ideas on my channel, feel free to check them out!
The temperature of model GAF698 which I just got 3 days ago, definitely can be adjust, just long press the temperature button after press the power on button, and before press the start button, from 200F can change to 400F, from 160F can change to 320F.
I wonder if they fixed it on the newer manufactured batches because it definitely didn't work for most of us.
Hi there,
Great video. I’ve just purchased this model.
One question. On the crisper tray there are rubber shoes. Do you remove these for cooking?
Thank you 🙏🏻
no, leave them in otherwise will scratch the basket. if you're having trouble inserting the crisper tray, angle it sideways.
I bought one from Cosco last week. I also took it back the next day. The Gourmia Airfryer looks amazing. However, it smells like burnt plastic ‘before’ using. It made my head hurt and the fumes were overbearing. My next air fryer will be made from metal. That plastic smell did not burn away after running for 40 minutes empty. Air frying is great, but that plastic is toxic. Choose wisely if you hate chemical plastic smells. My wife demanded it go. The square shape fits more btw.
Yeah, there have been comments about the plastic smell, it's really hit and miss. My first one, the 6QT smelled bad for A LONG time, this newer one 7QT only smelled for the first run. It's a shame because it really is a great air fryer. Hope you found a more suitable one!
The smell doesn’t go away after several uses , I’m probably gonna throw it out and buy a better quality one because the smell is awful like a toxic plastic smell and even makes some foods taste plasticly
The smell does go away. I’ve had mine for months.
Sorry that you did not read the instructions. It says it will smell the first couple times. Open the windows or put it outside and run if for a couple hours. Its a great air fryer for anyone who want to try air frying.
Remove the plastic foots attached to the rack
Efficient video, well done!
Thank you.
I've been trying to cook some chicken wings all afternoon. First I used the Wings preset and had to do it two-and-a-half times to get them to cook and brown just a little.
Second batch, the preset left them uncooked. So right now I am on the second run on Airfry for 20 minutes. So far it's been more trouble than it's worth.
I'm having the same problem 😕
@@joselemus5541 Third batch I tried to run timed air fry. It got halfway through and just died! It's dead! 😡
You are overloading then, I make fresh wings all the time, I shake the basket every 6 or 7 minutes and they are golden and crisp
Great demo! I was hoping that you would address cleanup on this unit. How is it on bake-on grease etc?
Thank you. It’s very easy, no kidding. Slides right off with hot water and dish soap. As long it hasn’t been sitting in grease for days. And I always hand wash. Hope that helps!
Air fryers are also aluminum foil friendly!! Cheat code for easy cleanup
I put some water and soap in the basket, reinsert it and air fry at 400 for 5 minutes. Dump out the water, wipe, rinse and dry.
@@galeem713 Great idea!
@@derrickjones3505 Can you use parchment paper as well or is there a specific one just for air fryers?
Thanks for the video. Just curious, about how long does it take to pre heat to say, 400 F?
It should take about 4-6 mins.
Good stuff only one thing you forgot about chips, and the popular part of that you are so sweet
Lol and thanks!
Nice
Thanks.
Would you recommend a silicone liner for the basket? If so, what size would you suggest?
Honestly, no. I never use them, defeats the purpose and blocks air flow. Clean up of this air fryer is so easy, you really do not need any liners.
I want to go to YOUR house to eat! Yum!
Lol!
Where can you buy that pan?
Would you be willing to share your AF bread recipe? Thank you 😊
It's just a basic yeast bread recipe that's in the book it comes with.
I just bought mine from Costco but the fryer basket is so hard to push , so do you have any trick to easily slide the basket in
Yeah I find if I'm kind of closing it while standing on the side of it it takes a couple of nudges to get it, but if you centre it, it should slide in easily. it's just an alignment thing....
Can you use foil containers in the AF? Thank you.
Yes, absolutely! Anything you can put in an oven can also be used in the air fryer.
When using an air fryer, do you need to turn on the range hood? Thank you
no, it won't let out smoke, unless you haven't washed the basket after using it last and the previous food is still stuck in there burning away!
I just purchased mine and I was puzzled about how I'm going to use it, so I pan fry, microwave or big oven and mainly use the oven for baking. Cornbread, Costco Meat Loaf, sausages and I was concerned about the size. I see now I can break my cooking into smaller units. I see the value, less grease and savings in power use. The dry cooking is just different than the way I've cooked and I'm excited about starting to use it. I'm single and normally cook in batches and refrigerate it and use it for several meals and reheat it with a microwave. I'm wondering about the cost, quickness and ease comparing it to the microwave in the reheating cases.
Because it's smaller in size it cooks much faster, wings and chicken are usually done in 20 mins, boneless meat 10-12 mins. If you're having to cook and freeze due to time constraints, this is very helpful and you can cook fresh daily. This also has a baking option that you can try it works well too! The reheat option is great, obviously not as fast as a microwave but it definitely heats and retains the texture of the food much better than a microwave, which will usually leave the food soggy. but it is all about trial and error, and keeping an eye on your food. Hope that helps!
I was hoping to see something about how to clean up the pans and fryer after you've cooked food. My only concern is the clean up. Does the entire fryer get food splatter? Does it have a separate cooking bowl like a slow cooker that comes out for cleaning?
Ya just wash it all in the sink. If you see a splatter... wipe it off with a damp paper towel. It's common sense...not rocket science
@@jade8568_VR I don't consider wiping my cooking devices with paper towels getting them clean. More I've looked at these they are not clean easy and not that much better than normal cooking. But thanks for your insightful input into your version of cooking
I’m more worried about the splattered grease after cooking burgers. May anyone be able to comment on that cleanup process?
I just wonder why all these helpful instructions are not included with the machine. Not a lot of how to's in the box.
They want you to view everything on their website.... they're trying to go paperless, I guess
Help!! I have the same fryer but takes too long to cook
Hey, I am unable to get the Gourmia bun recipe you made in the air fryer. Care to share it? Thanks.
Yes. it can be found on my facebook page along with many more recipes and ideas facebook.com/MeemReviews/
Is there a way to remove the crisper tray? I have fries stuck under it and can't get them out.
yes, just grab it from the centre holes and pull it upwards and out, if it's to hard, angle it sideways and then lift it out.
How do I bake potatoes and how long? Just got this air fryer,thanks..
it really depends on the size, I just baked 3-inch cubed potatoes for 20 mins. bigger potatoes will take longer - upto 40-45 mins.
Is there a list of cooking times ? Especially if there isn't a preset button on the left... Or do you use same as normal oven? Thought it was faster?
Hello I just bought mines an wanted to know so I leave the rubber parts of the crisper pan on or do I take them off before I put it inside fryer?
Leave them on 😊
@@MeemReviews Thankyou
Pin this please
It’s hard to push them down into the basket, I was looking up how to.
I have just bought mine from Costco. Used twice but each time food not cooked even after 1/2 hour! i cooked salmon and sausages which I ended up cooking in my frying pan. I don't think it is heating up or maybe preheat not long enough..any advise before I return it?
I'm sure you would've checked that you're cooking 200 degrees celsius (400F) and not Fahrenheit (92F). Sounds like the air fryer is not hot enough. Perhaps run it empty and check (carefully) if its getting hot (just hover your hand above the basket or the basket itself should be hot) before trying to cook something. If not, then perhaps it is defective and you may need to exchange it.
5:59 I can practicaly taste the meat. What I'd give for the recipe 😁
What model number is that? GAF798 7 Quart?
This one is GAF798, yes you are correct.
Can Aluminum Foil pans be used in the Gourmia Air Fryer since I cannot find the baking pans?
Yes, you can. Any oven safe dish can go in the air fryer.
@@MeemReviews Wouldn't they restrict air flow like the silicone ones?
What is the benefit of air frying the rolls in air fryer vs oven? Or are you just showing it can?
Showing it can, yes, also biggest benefit, you don't have to use a big oven which can heat up the kitchen - even whole house/appt - also bills should be less because it's a smaller appliance.
@@MeemReviews I have a big oven which cooks regular or convection. But it heats the kitchen! I love the concept of using the AF as a tiny convection oven. Thanks for this helpful video, we just purchased the same model. You have provided excellent information.

How do I bake potatoes and how long..just got this air fryer…
Depends on the size and type of potatoes. anything from 30-45 mins.
I just need some help on how to use the timer how to set the timer it’s always at 20 minutes and I can’t seem to figure out away without pushing it 19 times to get it to one minute
Press and hold the button and the numbers will move faster, you don't need to press it 19 times. air fryer button will also start at 20 mins.
Mayo on beef burgers?! Never seen that before!
Absolutely loved it, used it everyday, but the paint all peeled off the bottom of the inside. I don't want to use it anymore, I always handwashed it after using
oh no! I'm sure you weren't using abrasive material to clean it, that's a shame!
How long does it take to preheat?
About a minute or two
So I can bake a frozen pot pie in it??
yes, if it will fit!
👍👍👍
😊
If a recipe for 4 potatoes says 25 minutes and I only cook 2 potatoes do I need to reduce the cooking time in half ?
No, same time, whatever the quantity.
Anyone have issues with toggling between temp and time? The central buttons just don't seem to work well for me.
Mine are ok, you're pressing and holding it for about 3-5 seconds?
@@MeemReviews Yeah have tried that, the Minus button is also quite bad for me, and the Plus button works intermittently. Also, the reheat button doesn't work. This is on two of the same models, bought one for my mother and one for myself. Both seem to have the issue, will have to speak to costco as I've found no solution.
No it's not working like this I invited the past 3 days ago everything I put inside to cook is cooking half cook I don't know how to do it to make crispy everything half cook I don't know why can you teach me to how I make to cook crispy please thank you so much
Do they have a customer service phone number, save receipt, maybe they have customer service online
@@seebertha yes they do and you can call. No offense to anyone here but RUclips is not where you go to find the answers to customer service questions unless customer service is not giving you any answers. But you have to ask first and they do have a wonderful customer service. Good luck and God bless
Plz make more veggie recipes with this airfryer
Sure, I actually post on recipes and tips on my facebook pages, since my RUclips channel is more reviewing the product, feel free to follow me there facebook.com/MeemReviews
I like that I can "fry" something on a whim! An oil fryer takes so much more time to clean and prepare ruclips.net/user/postUgkxD4Qeo-HRLxMfom_PDinM_SBfes00qJsB a chore which usually kept me from frying all together. Also, the lack of needing oil to fry means that my family and I are eating healthier... while still enjoying the crispiness of fried foods.
It really is! Happy cooking!
I love this! New subscriber! I make air fryer recipe videos on my channel too. I hope we can learn from one another!
Awesome, will do! I'm always looking for new stuff to try out too!
Foil is very very very dangerous to wrap food in. Even though we did it back in the day for our baked potatoes doesn’t make it right. The tinfoil of today is absolutely horrendous and poisons your food.
Yet...here we all are!
Why not just cook at 400 instead 350 360 ?
400 tends to scorch it
Depends on the food. 400F cooks the food on the outside, but inside is still raw sometimes, it's better to cook on a lower temp for a min or two longer to get food to thoroughly cook through. Also veggies tend to burn at 400F, I find. 375-390F is. a good range I like to use for most foods. Hope that helps.
I have same issue no idea how to use as instructions don't give much information
I hope I was able to help a little?...
@@MeemReviews yes thank you
I think I'll stick with my toaster oven since it's bigger.
Sounds good, if that works best for you!
Est ce que il faut toujours pré chauffer .
OK you have confused me. You told us never to flip our burgers and now you flipped your burgers. So which is it? Clarification would be helpful thank you.
Apologies, you don't want to flip burgers halfway because they will be delicate to flip too soon. Flip them once they are firm enough about 2-3 mins before the end time, depending on your doneness level. Hope that helps.
@@MeemReviews Thank you very much I really appreciate your help. I just got my air fryer for my birthday this past weekend.
You’re welcome! Happy birthday and happy air frying 😁🎉
