for anyone wondering about the little feet on the crisper tray, you're supposed to leave them on. I found out that they are actually silicone, not rubber, so it's safe to use while cooking.

I forgot to mention when cooking grasy stuff like bacon or wings, add just a bit of water about 1-2 oz then add the crisper tray.
The watr will keep air fryer from smoking when the grease drips down to bottom of basket and remember to add hot water as soon as you remove greasy food .
One more tip to make cleaning easier after adding the hot water, add enough to cover crisper, put back in air fryer, turn on 400f about 5 mins, that extra hot water will lift any stuck on food

I bought the 7 quarts yesterday to replace a rack-style air fryer I have had for a while. I immediately prepared coconut shrimp and sweet potato fries and honestly did not miss the deep fryer at all. The clean-up was a breeze. I'd typically be on the grill on a Friday night, but we have rain all day, so tonight will be wings and onion rings in the air fryer.
Tip for wings: toss them in a bowl lightly with some canola oil. Then season them however and carry on. I use this trick in my convection oven and they come out awesome. This method works well with my old air fryer.

Using oil is not a bad thing if it's the right kind of oil. Avoid industrial seed oils like sprays, canola, vegetable, sunflower, etc... Use 100% pure olive oil, coconut, avocado, or just good ole' butter and you're good. Remember, fat doesn't make us fat. Carbs & sugar make us fat. Great video!

Thank for this! We don't eat fried foods, but learning that this is basically, a small scale convection oven piqued our interest. In 2005, I bought a duel-fuel range, propane burners on top, regular/convection oven below. Have loved the convection! Years later, it's a bit much for two senior citizens, to use that much electricity. We steered away from an "air fryer" because we thought it was only for Fried Foods. Costco has it for $40, on sale, thru 5/15/2023 , so we are going to purchase, not open, make a decision.
Very sorry you didn't like the Instant Pot! We bought the Costco Duo Gourmet in September 2021, $80. And it is now a very valued appliance...yogurt, oatmeal, grains, veggies, pulled pork, soups, pasta sauces, this list goes on and on. I guess it depends on your type of cooking.
Our good experience with the Instant Pot has led us to take a chance on an Air Fryer. Thanks for your helpful video!

I bought this for 60$ CANADIAN at Walmart. Seems like a steal. The thing is built to last it seems, very nice construction and nothing looks cheap on it. No shitty plastic. mine is probably a newer model, there's no concave on the screen and looks way bigger, seems like mine has a couple more presets too. I used it last night and everything came out so well done, way better than using the oven or deepfryer. I'm a single male living in a single apartment and this is a life changer for me! I can't afford to buy my mother one but I think I can save up 5$ a month until next boxing day to get her one.

@@takeontravel9076 you might find it harder to clean than the basket itself, especially f making fries and other non greasy foods but a tip working for me is, after cooking greasy or sticky food like chicken winds or chesee, is
      1. Add a few tablespoons of water to the bottom basket 1/4 cup at most, Be Sure it's not reaching the liner where food sits. The water prevents the drippings from food to burn then begin smoking
      2. After removing cooked food, add a drop of dish detergent and enough water to COVER the liner in basket Place back in AIRFRYER turn on 400°F
      5 to 10 mins.
While your enjoying your food the airfryer is lifting off the stuck on stuff, now you just need to wipe off out the gdease

  • @WannodsPlace
    @WannodsPlace Год назад +4

Hi i just the same air fryer about 2 weeks ago, the basket was going like yours but after few times it gets easier.
Give the crisper tray a little push down when you inset it, then it won't flop out.
So far I'm really liking mine.

Very helpful review.....thanks so much! I just got one of these air fryers from Costco and mine was also on sale for $39.99 when I got it a couple months ago. I used it for the first time after watching several RUclips video's but yours was by far the most helpful and detailed. I figured for this price it would be a good first choice because I wouldn't be upset if I didn't like it as I would if I got an expensive one. My first attempt worked out well. I want to try the chicken wings like you made and an anxious to experiment with it. I live in AZ so heating up the oven in summer is not something I want to do. Consequently, there are so many things I don't have for half the year. This is a great option!

Same. I just got talked into an air fryer by the same company but not that model because I was under the impression that the food would be cooked faster too. My first attempt at chicken drumsticks was a fail, partly because the book that came with mine does not show drumsticks so I used thighs. They did not come out cooked and I had to try an start time up again but I need to get more familiar with the display as I could not just get it to add a bit of time. That is of course user error on my part.

I'm glad you like the air fryer, but I'm not sure that particular model is actually all that good. I have the two drawer Gourmia, also from Costco, and it's a lot slower and a lot less convenient than a different air fryer I have made by Cosori. The Gourmia doesn't have programmable settings,s o every time you turn it on it defaults to 20 minutes and 400 degrees, and you have to manually change it every single time, whereas on my Cosori you can program each setting to whatever you want, so if you discover that you favorite brand of french fries needs a certain time and temp, you can program the fries button and have the exact setting ready at the press of a single button. It's especially handy for bacon, which air fryers do a great job on. I also like how the cosori has different settings for types of food, like chicken, shrimp, fries, bacon, etc, whereas the Gourmia's buttons are for the various functions like Broil, Bake, AirFry, etc. and there are no buttons for types of food. The Gourmia seems like it's capable of things that the Cosori doesn't do, like dehydration, but as an actual air fryer/oven the Cosori is faster and much more convenient, and the basket is better (detachable, two piece basket). I might return the Gourmia honestly, only had it for a few days.

    OK Dave….
Thank You for the review of the air fryer we both have. Just out of curiosity… What was the name of your death metal band? Maybe as I’m air frying my fries, your band’s music is what will be my ‘using my air fryer for the first time’ music.

It has rubber bumps on all sides to keep it from falling out when you tip it over to get food out. Best way to put tray in is tilt it at a downward angle as you press it into the bottom

If you have a large family, like 5 or more people, I’d say no. For smaller groups I think it is, mostly because it’s more efficient than turning on your full size oven to reheat things. And it truly does a better job of making things crisp
