@@PursuitofAccuracy your making great content. Keep it up. It be nice to see some chrono data to see the sd’s. 50 yards might be good for bench but doesn’t always mean it will hold at 200 yards
My understanding is that Pistol Match Special is intended to maintain velocities just under the speed of sound with pistols that, of course, have shorter barrel lengths than rifles. It will also give a boost to operating semi-auto actions. When firing from a rifle, you may be on the edge of going super sonic where some shots do and some don't. This could be causing the difference you hear and the opening of the groups. It may be useful as a cool weather round if they all stay sub-sonic, or out of shorter barreled rifles. You are also only testing one sample which may not be well suited to your gun. I have a couple rifles that shoot Special as well as Rifle Match, so in my opinion, it is still one to consider when you are looking for the right ammo to match a new gun.
I see that sometimes but its unlikely. Those barrels dont even get very warm shooting subsonics at that rate. Barrel gets hotter then that sitting in the sun at matches in the summer here

couple of Quick Thoughts. Some of your other videos seemed to be only a single ammo being tested vs two in this video. While I dont think it is intentionally biased, but I do think it could make a difference in this test. Assuming each ammo is tested on its own, there is not a significant heating of the barrel or significant fouling on the second ammo test because you cap it at 25-35 rounds. Assuming that there is also limited fatigue on the shooter. The fact that you immediately started shooting the Match Special means as an ammo, the test is starting a different point with a warmer barrel, more fouling (even if it is the same ammo manufacturer) and the shooter had shot more rounds. I did notice that the last two groups of SK Pistol Match began to open up and then the SK Pistol Match Special consistently opened up more each group leading me to believe it could be shooter fatigue or rifle fouling or both. The fact that the last 7 groups continuously got bigger did not indicate to me it was the ammo itself but rather something else.
I see what your saying but that barrel isnt even starting to warm up at 25 rounds. I havent found barrel heat to be an issue as ive shot the best groups out of that barrel in all different stages of barrel heating.
