Lifetime Heroic Achievement Winner Deborah Matthews, Tanner Health System

Deborah Matthews recently retired as the executive vice president and chief nursing officer of Tanner Health System in Carrollton. Deborah has been a nurse for 47 years and spent 38 of those at Tanner. Beginning as a charge nurse at Tanner in 1985, Deborah has seen it all. She’s been an integral part of the hospital’s growth and its success in patient care and has helped navigate many crises, including the covid pandemic. That is just a small part of her story.
