I'm a nurse. We were taught back in college that when talking in front of the patient to always assume the patient can hear you, whether you're in a coma, knocked out with anesthesia or even deaf. The fact that these licensed surgeons and nurses can't even follow basic education on patient's right to considerate and respectful care is a big disappointment.
Thank you for all that you have done and will do I know that it is a very difficult time for doctors and nurses right now but I just want to let you know it will get better soon.
Sad reality people are the way people are... sad to medical professionals who put so much time and energy into their work be so rude when they think no one is watching or their just hanging with their colleagues!
I was in a coma for two weeks, and as I came to I was terrified, disoriented, confused and in pain. I was way too weak to get up or move, and my speech was slurred. I know I was a handful, I remember constantly pressing the call button because I was terrified and didnt understand where I was or why I was there. The nurses in the ICU did not like me when I was like this. they made absolutely no effort to calm me down or reason with me. Instead they moved the call light out of my reach and closed the door and blinds and ignored me unless they had to see me. It was horrible to me and only made me even more terrified. I tried to tell my mom but she insisted I was just hallucinating. Some health care workers are simply cruel. The rotten few overshadow the true Angels.
In your case yes, that's borderline neglect. But from what I know this woman's surgery was done well, was cared for well. The doctors kept their comments private and didn't say any of this directly to her. She basically eve dropped on their conversation. For sure what they were saying was pretty horrific. But that's why private convos exist.
@@bijoucelia8638 honestly I wouldn't care. I wouldn't be there to make friends or get praise, I'd be there for surgery and as long as it was done well I couldn't care what their superficial opinion of me is.
The nurses made fun of my mother when she was dying of liver failure. They said she brought it upon herself by drinking alcohol. She never had a drink in her life. It was the pills they had been giving her for over twenty years. RIP mom
My son recently graduated and he is very disappointed with the disposition these medical professional have with their patients. He says they call it "compassion burnout" but some of them seem to never had any in the first place
I'm not surprised. A lot of doctors are cold hearted. It's the whole "Your life depends on me" mentality that makes them have this arrogant attitude. I said a lot not all. It's unethical and dishonorable. If you have this little regard for a human life laying in your care. Just quit.
@@aphradite321 Yes, they end up doing this, a successful surgery. They should sue her for eavesdropping - this is their job, that is their coworkers and this is what people do with coworkers. If surgeons now have to spend a 10 hour surgery in silence for fear of offending a comatose patient then they should all resign and let these whiny bastards perform their own surgeries. Honestly the world is turning into a cesspool of regulations.
“That doesn’t sound like something you should say to the person doing your surgery” is... is that a threat? Omg. This makes me terrified to have surgery.

I work at a hospital and I can tell you I’ve heard the most disgusting things come out of doctors and nurses mouths and they face no repercussions after due to their occupation.
Mamy doctors are just drug dealers , some are arrogant asshats , and some regular people who do a great job. I still understand how they might get aggravated at someone threatening to sue them , and then coming in for surgery. Did they do a good job on the surgery? That's what is important, and the entire precious thing, they weren't being racist , she's looking to sue them, saying this is precious and that is precious, no context or reasoning , just the words on a edited video, nope I don't go for that sh1t. They were being immature and rude for sure. For that they shoukd be punished by their job, a lawsuit , no , calling them racists and the rest is going to get her blacklisted from anyone touching her if she needs a doctor. My father worked in a hospital. He wasn't a surgeon, he did first responding and emergency room work, and I can say they deal with a lot, stress, violence, and death , so most does have a sense of humor most people wouldn't like, myself included. That diesnt equal racist or anything else, it means asshat that is childish.
My daughter has Down syndrome, and when she was 3 months old, she was in the hospital for a few weeks because of a cold she had to be on oxygen because her breathing tubes were small. I overheard a nurse telling the other on she can't believe I went through with that pregnancy. Some are nice she was hospitalized a few times for a cold. One guy was her nurse. All the times, he said he traded someone to be my daughters nurse, and he said he would always be her nurse.
I’m just going to say…I’ve worked for doctors. This is nothing compared to some of the horrible things I’ve heard. Unfortunately, lots of doctors are awful.

Being a medical student in India , when we were on posting in labour room,, I heard our senior madam scolding a patient who was crying loudly during labour pain" what were you thinking while making this".It was such a humiliation to a pregnant lady. Felt so sorry for her to went through it.
Dude, here in USA , the hospital had only 'Male doctor as a obstetrician' and the nurses were females who were seen 'Inferior' to a doctor The insult happened to a woman in labour who was taken care by female nurses and doctor was enjoying outside in assembly until his 'Main and inly job to cut a woman and pull baby ' does not arises . When male doctor was not there , the nurses 'Helped' her improve labour by telling her to squat on a squat bar on bed and walk and take up an 'Upright birth position' as opposed to the sleeping pose , cos sleeping pose increase pain amd risks of uterine exhaustion. And really, the woman improved labour from 1cm. Dilation in 6 cm in just 20 mins, she said to nurse she was comfortable giving birth holding on to squat bar of the bed, and nurses were so loving to her until 'MALE DOCTOR ' came inside. Suddenly, the nurses under his influence stopped using their own brains and turned rude to woman in labour, shouting 'How dare you choose your own birthing position, when we say lay flat on back , do it, we know and we are 'IN CHARGES of your baby' !!! And the male doctor just yawned and came like as if having a morning walk , as if the woman was not imporatnt, and when he came, he put on gloves 'Coercively and forcefully pushed back woman into 'SLEEPING POSITION' who was squating while 'Crowning out baby' and imagibe woman was already had half baby out on squat bar, and while she was in discomfort of half baby out instead, he forcefully pushed her hard thud !!!, as if he is fighting her, and took out scissors and cut her 'Intimatr areaa', a forcful episiotomy when already baby was out safely lol, i.e. cut her without necessity and also WITHOUT ANESTHETIC And then laughed at her husband saying 'What kinda stitch you want to have for her, an extra husband stitch to make ger seggsy tight at bottoms or remain loose only, a husband stitch and she will be more seccsier during post pregnancy seccgs!!!!'
It's so true I also heard from this from my friend they treat them very badly ....they actually humiliate them for doing sex and making Babu so rude so bad
Well it makes sense, even though it's fucked up. Think about it, you don't want to be screwing with people that make your food either, and this dude said it in a joking manner. Though I agree one could argue some of this isn't very "patient friendly".. People talking in a criticizing manner about other people and fooling around in what they think is a operation amongst trusted colleagues probably happens all the time. I've been operated on and I wouldn't be surprised if the people operating on me would've made some embarrassing/what I could interpret as insulting comments whilst I was out. Why the hell would you even look at this in a criticizing manner. The question is.. Did they do the operation successfully/did they behave in a acceptable manner when dealing within the patients direct awareness.. I can't say they have to be serious all the time. I'd rather have a surgeon that fools around and makes stupid comments whilst still doing their job then a surgeon that's stressed out, afraid of saying something that might be taken to damn seriously which in turn could hurt his reputation and possibly his performance. Also people of all races can make dumb ass comments about any other race.. taking such things seriously tends to be the issue. It's about intend, it's not about "just words". Black and white are not offensive in and of itself, making a joke is not offensive. Taking offense and expecting it to be meant as an insult when someone doesn't mean to be hateful at all is in fact offensive. Assuming the worst in a person without understanding intend is an insult. This world is becoming so backwards it's becoming ridiculous :/ Overemotional people brainwashed by MSM to take offense and see reason to be offended in everything they can. Supporting a dividing narrative when in reality what they really desire is joy and peace. People have just been programmed to continuously find reason for unrest which is very depressing to think about
Even if she hadn't spoken those "choice words", Black people still have every reason to fear doctors. She was clear in understanding how healthcare works for our population and for all we know, that hernia surgery was purposely put off because she's black and her health isn't as important. Do some research on Black women's gynecological health and how often they die because of negligence from their doctors.
@@pookie4288 I am the reason victims don't speak up? we're talking about a person that wouldn't even have been conscience. You can't play the victim of something that wasn't meant for your ears. People criticize others about all kinds of things. And it's not always pretty either. Also no one said this is anyone's fault, why do you even describe this as "always their fault" how about, it's nobody's fault and nothing much happened to begin with. I never said race has anything to do with speaking truth. If anything race is better left out, I just mentioned race because for some reason people like to make a point about something being an issue in relation to their race when all to often it shouldn't even be/isn't meant to be about race. If this pandemic has shown us anything it's that the people we trust in can do the most terrible things for personal gain. And yes, of course the only reason the doctors apologized is because they got caught. Like I said, they probably talk like this amongst themselves all the time without thinking much about it.. Maybe it's not meant to be a big deal to begin with :/ The reason they can talk like this behind someone's back instead of saying these things straight to someone's face is in fact because of sympathy and having a base understanding. So I guess you'd say she's a victim of people speaking their minds without the intention of actually hurting someone.... I can imagine worse things in life then this. I just gave myself as an example, this quite possibly happened with me as well when I was out for an operation. I can't be bothered though, unless they'd be like.. physically assaulting me :/

It is inserted into a patients careplan when there's only unnecessary suffering to try to extend a person life and all care given is only to increase quality of life until the end. There are also things that a person have to consider. A weakend body might not be able to take all kinds of medicines, under go major surgeries, partake in intense rehab plans, etc. compared to a young healthy body (which is always taken into consideration when deciding care for a person). There's of course the factor of people getting weakend by age, however the number itself isn't what decides a persons care, a patients physical evaluation does (which is what weakens with age).

When I had surgery a few years ago I found a surgeon who I felt REALLY comfortable with. I was seeing her for care for a while before, and then ongoing for months after, the surgery and I know she's the nicest person ever. I was worried because the day of the surgery I found out she'd have another doctor who was doing a fellowship working alongside her and I hadn't met him before that day. He seemed ok though. Later I saw him for care a couple times for a bit of an emergency when my primary doctor was out of town, and he was a total angel. I feel blessed to have had good people working over me when I'm unconscious, laying there totally vulnerable. But I'd had a bad experience in the past so I knew how important it was to me to find a doctor I was REALLY comfortable with to do my surgery. If I had a single reservation with them, I would have switched doctors. There are some gems out there, just gotta dig.
I’ve said it a million times, and I’ll say it again... it’s hard to find an employee who really cares!! Wether it’s retail, the medical field, or any job for that matter. To have empathy, compassion and professionalism is a rare find.
At least in my case it's hard to be too much of the first two items because you have both management and patients being rude to you. I had a patient scream at me for 30 minutes because I told him I can't fax him his results when they come back the next day. So between that, other people being mean and management saying you have to be faster and handle more and more? It's easy to bite back any empathy and compassion you have

There is more to this story than what is being reported. Especially the first story! Why did the patient threaten to sue her surgeons before the surgery?

Unfortunately as a non medical worker in a hospital I hear things like this all too often. Doctors saying patients are lying about pain or ignoring their concerns. Nurses commenting on people's appearance. I've even heard nurses making fun of women who are making loud noises during birth which is incredibly awful. When you're in horrible pain the last thing someone taking care of you should do is make fun of you. Working in a hospital ruined my perception of them for me. I don't trust anyone at face value and I always get a second opinion now.
Yes, a nurse yelled at me to stop screaming when I was in labor. Then my next child, a very nice nurse showed me how to breath during labor. What a big difference by sharing the littlest tip, and how different people can be.
I'm in medical school and unfortunately doctors do say that people lie about their pain sometimes, especially in emergency rooms they have nothing to do so they start rambling about something that happened a while ago or recently. A lot of nurses told me some stories that happened and they laughed about it. I don't approve of this but it is what it is can't do anything.
What's crazy is she feels the need to secretly record her surgeon whom she obviously does not trust yet she's putting her life in his hands during the time she's recording him. Makes no sense to me. If I had some issue with my Dr, I'd go and find a new one.

However, the medical staff belittled the Mom while she was under anesthesia joking that the doctor should 'tie her tubes'. I was horrified and made my feelings known. Never will I forget that day.
I dunno, pretty much at every job I worked at people talked about customers behind the screen or wherever they couldn't hear them. If you would secretly put a recorder in any of those places and you'd have the same result. It happens everywhere, I don't know why it's suddenly bad when surgeons do it. If you actually think this should be punishable, then boy do you have a LOT of other places to sue as well. And yes, at almost every place they do this as long as they assume the customer doesn't hear them. Nobody is going to assume someone is going to put a recorder in their extensions just to record this.
I am a retired ICU nurse that has treated many patients that were in comas and I was always taught that they might be able to hear what I was saying. Not always personal Edit (4 days later): I say that because a doc who is simply having a rough day can be amused while doing this to you. Maybe it doesnt match your sense of humor, but it is a humorous act to perform. A person cant hear you so you say things about them that you normally wouldnt say cause its disrespectful, could get you in trouble, and/or hurt their feeling. "My dad is such an ahole" blah blah blah, but would still trade their life for their father in a heart beat if they have to. Id hear a guy complain about a professor at college but would never wish any actual harm come his way, hes just venting out frustration. If professor was sleep, can almost garantee this guy would be pretend fist fighting the professor, but if the professor needed help hes calling 911. People dont always get along with people they care about, but it doesnt mean someone venting about you wants any harm coming your way or is an actual bad person And F all this dumb vulnerable or "being at their mercy" talk like it means they are only talking bad about you because youre vulnerable or something, sht aint got nothing to do with it, theyre doing it cause they think youre sleep or cannot hear them, got nothing to do with you being at their mercy, just over here trying to make yourselves sound just for crying, is bs. If anything, they are at your mercy, which is why they do it when you cant hear them. Even if you could hear them and were dying on the table, at their mercy for survival, if they know you can hear them they aint gone say a thing to not hurt you or not hurt themselves cause you can get them fired Edit 2: Outside of Brookes comments, id dodge the arguing below. Nothing but people comming to make insults (comming to *vent* about me), just to say that venting is bad as a whole rather than just saying its bad to be done around patients and hospital staff you dont know.
I don't know bro you mean to tell me you woke up at the exact perfect second to hear them say that and then fell back asleep right after. "Things that didnt happen for 500, Alex!"
I’m a physician. This happens nonstop. And it will always continue to happen until we fire every single nurse, physician, and mid-level provider who does this. And let me tell you, that would leave behind maybe 10% of the medical workforce.
Nashua Andrews - It's now become every Americans inalienable RIGHT to behave like an ass, and then demand money if they feel the slightest bit offended people's reaction to their behaviour.
Yeah if I was the lawyer of the doctor, I would use this recording against her. because if i was in a law suit with someone, i would not be going on tv saying that we got into it and then i came back for your services. technically, she can't sue for words spoken badly against her. SHe chose to continue with their services and so that's the price she will have to pay. That's shame on her, because they fooled her twice.
Nashua Andrews What if there was no other hospital she could go to that specializes in removing hernias? I work in the medical field and where I live only certain hospitals specialize in certain things 💁 also as a professional woman like you stated in the comments since when was it okay to lack professionalism I wasn't aware it was their jobs as medical professionals to make someone uncomfortable before and during surgery it's their job's to be rude? I've never did anything like this nor have I seen it working under the doctors where I work rather the patient was rude or not
My lovely grandad wet the bed when in hospital with a rare paralysing disease at 87, he told us with his weak voice afterwards that he heard the nurses say “oh god he’s wet himself I’m not cleaning that up”. How horrible, they thought he was asleep but he wasn’t. How can they be so rude to an elderly man who is embarrassed and losing dignity. Shameful.
I had multiple surgeries after a car accident. The first night, a nurse refused to come help me use the bathroom because I was "bothering her too much." I had to have my roommate go ask her if she just wanted me to pee on myself. My foot and leg were crushed, all my ribs were broken, and I was "bothering" her. Meanwhile the patient next door had 18 visitors in his room after visiting hours. My roomie and I counted. Plus, kids from that family kept running into my room and hitting my bed. I finally demanded I be moved, and within an hour I was. This particular hospital has a high-end ward for people with money and good insurance. I was pissed that they hadn't put me there to begin with. Every surgery after that, I demanded to be put in 4 West and I was. This was July 2018, before Covid ended hospital visiting.
Dear patients, I am an EMT and have unfortunately heard many comments like this and people talking bad about patients in the field. I wanted to say I’m truly sorry. No one deserves to be bullied and mocked especially in such a vulnerable position. On the other hand I’ve had some great experiences with colleagues who care for you and would do anything to help you. My patients have impacted my life forever and they make me a better person. I think of them often and wonder how they are. Don’t be afraid to stand up to these people or leave when you feel unsafe. They are not above you.
@jean-luc paradis when I worked in the medical field, during my training I was told we had to call them patients so with that said I bet this is why this person also is calling them patients.
When I had attempted to overdose on my antidepressants back when I was 17, I always remember the nurses addressing me at the counter as suicide girl. Given the fact I had just attempted to take my life on purpose - it definitely wasn't the best thing to hear. I was already hurting and alone ... and scared ...
So sorry girl. Not exactly the same thing, but I attempted to overdose a while ago and in the ambulance one of the paramedics kept scolding me for being ungrateful for life, asking what I was trying to do to my family, if it was my goal to go to hell, on and on. I know with the job he had and maybe in his personal life he could have lost people the same way. I wasn't in my right mind at the time though and saying those things weren't motivation to get better, they made me feel awful. But at least he was trying to get through to me? It's such appalling form for nurses to refer to you that way so carelessly, like just a hospital bed and not a human. Shame on them
@@katiemilady197 No. He's pointing out what an idiot a person has to be to threaten the person that will be operating on them. It's like telling your waiter that you're not tipping them while ordering your meal. Expect a healthy dose of saliva on your food. Entitled? To what? To remark to the other people in the OR what a difficult person they have that day? Then they can be on guard, watch what they say and know in advance what a jerk the patient is.
Right? And people are so dumb. These people TAKE AN OATH that no matter what they will preserve life. Thats scary for him to even joke about these things.
I was fired from 2 hospitals, worked in 3 separate specialty clinics and the things that most of the staff say about patients behind closed doors would make anyone feel uncomfortable about receiving compassionate care from their doctors office. I may have been late a few times but at least I cared about people.
This would never win in court. Even the judge would be thinking about how petty she is for recording what was believed to be a private conversation that had no impact on her health
@@donovanmagyer782 It does have an impact on her health.. her mental health. Poor mental health affects physical health. She has a case and I think she should win. Those people are meant to be professionals, they aren't meant to have a whinge about the patient or make fun of them. I'd be taking legal action too if I was in for a surgery and this happened to me.
@@looksirdroids9134 I doubt that would work as a case. If they said it to her face while she was awake and conscious with intent, then maybe so. But she recorded them without them knowing, which is a rather bizarre and unusual move from anyone in general, let alone doing so while going under the knife. Though they insulted her, she is in some respect responsible for hearing what was supposed to be a private conversation.
A lawsuit is unlikely because doctors are at a premium...sort of like pilots during a war. The only way the doctors might get sued is it they did something bad like malpractice or if they were really insulting her like extremely heavy insults. I'm not saying that what they did is good. It's... but definitely they will not Sue the doctors because doctors are hard to come by it takes years to become a doctor in medical school they don't come by easily a doctor is a commodity in a community.
Regarding a colonoscopy, a lot of people don’t know this, but you can have them done without sedation. I know a lot of people that don’t want one without sedation, but this is yet another reason to not go under if possible.
This is why I don’t like people seeing my body, I don’t even want other people to wax me professionally because I’m afraid people will say those words.
Here's the thing.... Coming from a fat dude and below average on handsome scale, take this advice. Try to feel as good about yourself as you psychologically can EVERYDAY the MOMENT you wake up. Just walk to a mirror with your eyes closed and look at yourself first thing in the morning and look for any and all good features of yourself in the mirror. Once you start feeling good about yourself, you're half way to looking good. Since, once you're at the point where you are completely comfortable being yourself, you automatically stop caring about others. And this is usually a tremendous help in cases of self-deprecation. Also, she had Hernia, an air bubble in the abdominal region that inflates over time, in some cases only i think but not sure. So their comments have nothing to do with normal people. Edit: Came back to reply to a replying comment and saw grammatical errors. How the heck did no one notice and correct me?

I had surgery and as I was coming out of anesthetic I heard remarks about me. I was so embarrassed. It is not only operating rooms. My daughter and I were in an ER and heard nurses speaking this way about patients in the ER. It was disgusting! We complained and the managing nurse was fired. But now I see this, it seems as though it is common for this to occur.
This type of way will never change in health care field .they all look down on people and it's an entitled overpayed business. It's not health care but a business this is from someone who was malpractices by a doctor who decided to do things I told him not to
I think this is a international problem and they start when they're in medical school. I once experienced a student having remarks about my son who's autistic, calling him a little brat but he was just traumatised from the fall he had and was scared of where we were.. I verbally lashed out so harsh at that student that she didn't know where to look because she thought I didn't hear her speaking to another male student. Its like you're not there but you hear everybody they're saying.
Most of the time people don't realize that their words can deeply hurt someone even if they don't intend to. Some people are just too stupid to understand others pain. People's pain can be treated but it's almost impossible to understand others pain unless until we ourselves have gone through it.
This makes me want to cry. I had an endoscopy done in which my body stomach had to be exposed…. I hope they didn’t say anything about my disgusting body. I used to have an eating disorder my self esteem was so bad. It is again now because someone I didn’t even know at work asked if I was pregnant. I’m not. I was on corticosteroids for my juvenile rheumatoid arthritis for months. I wish I didn’t see this video. I’ve lost faith in humanity really. Also lost my hair and had to find out I was balding from some girls at work talking behind my back after helping them with their computer 😢😢😢 I was so heartbroken. I couldn’t believe I was losing my hair. And that’s how I had to find out. You just never know what people are going through you know 😞

My brother is a doctor and he once talked to me about how some surgeons feel they are on the top of the world and treat every other common people as flies secretly. Looks like it's true.
Nurses and staff at a local hospital where I live were in legal trouble because they regularly mocked and belittled patients who had purposely tried to kill themselves.
"What you've got to say about people, says allot about yourself" The doctors got to see her *body* uncovered and make remarks about it.... Now the world gets to see *who* those doctors are uncovered through the remarks that they made.
@First Of All How can you not see this was unprofessional? Also what is considered difficult? Asking for a 2nd opinion or any question pertaining to a surgery? I have family members who are esteemed in many professions and I must say the more degrees and accolades the more arrogance and narcissistic behavior comes out. Whatever happened to humility and just doing your job? 🙄
@First Of All There are many forms of abuse. In what context do you mean by "abuse"? This is abuse. Not of the physical kind but verbally. She is being ridiculed; comments being made on her belly button to name one.
Funny how people who don't do a job like to judge people who are doing it, especially when the job is one of the most difficult and let's just say traumatizing jobs you could have. Emotionally having someone's life in your hand is not an easy thing to do and making lighthearted humor is a mechanism for maintaining sanity. Judging these people is absolutely wrong. Eavesdropping on their conversations and then holding them responsible for what they say amongst themselves is insane and stupid. We have free speech in this country for a reason. Everyone who supports actions against this doctor or supports this fat b**** lady is an idiot.
@Kaleb Burris they were being rude, disrespectful to the patient they were doing surgery on. how difficult is it to just shut your mouth and do your job? what would u do if u were in her situation and your surgeons started to degrade you and cant even stand up for yourself? youre right. america is turning into a giant cesspool of idiots and assholes like you. touche, buddy.
@Kaleb Burris what are u ranting on about? so youre saying you experienced these things so no ones allowed to feel the way they do anymore? youre saying like you have it worse so fork your sensitive ass selves? she had reason to expose them. they were being unprofessional. if u get bullied u just suck it up? no. times are changing. ppl are learning to stand up for themselves. thats a good thing. and youre taking at as ppl acting lile theyre pussies. yeah sure buddy.
@Kaleb Burris "I could care less what words do" Did- Did you miss the time the surgeon says "That's not something you say to someone who's doing your surgery" Basically saying that he has her life in his hands and end it if he so desires like WTF. What you went through is horrible, but sometimes words can end lives. What those medical professionals did is incredibly rude and uncalled for, not to mention scary. You expect people in other professions to be respectable and mindful of their comments, so it shouldn't be hard for people whose literal job is to care about other people.
This is one of those "Let me speak to your manager" types demanding special treatment and her doctors were polite enough not to insult her to her face like normal people do. I bet she talks shit about other people in private too. Someone should sue her as well.
Link Nguyen your doctor can share information with his surgical team because they are a part of the the treatment process. If the information is relevant. So some things could be shared but some other things are not necessary to share. A doctor might share that a patient is unhappy or easily upset if it might help the team know how to keep the patient happy. But this sounds very mean spirited and not helpful. I've had surgeons tell me how upset their patients are , etc. they share this as a warning to be delicate with their feelings . But making fun of someone is not acceptable. :(
Fuck ur feelings What, not human beings? How is this shocking to anyone? That is the exact thing most did in high school to raise ones own self esteem by pointing out others faults. All part of the social acceptance training as children in America. Now it's called bullying. Use to be teasing. Can't arm teachers for teasing. But bullying, on my god, arm the janitor too. Hell if it relaxes the surgical team, I'll give them notes with pointers.
You wish to change how an adult thinks. Raise the child accordingly. As long as parents are to busy chasing currency. There will be no time to raise the child. Don't worry the state will program them for you. THIS IS HAPPENING... Am I surprised ? People are to busy consuming to recognize the rulers ruling them. Look who's squatting at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. Mankind is evolving into the rulers' wishes . No one lets another's opinion effect them, unless they let it. If they are the steward of of there own being, what is the issue? The sad fact is this is how one judges themselves imperfections against another's. Pointing these imperfections out about others. Distracts others from their own. And no one is perfect...
In high school? Not everyone was as immature as you. Anyway, they're not high schoolers anymore. They're at work,in a professional setting. As you said, none is perfect so those doctors should be more humble.
I've had a doctor make fun of me with nurses when they were in another room and they thought no one was listening but my mom was waiting there for me and she heard them... so I don't find this unbelievable. I wasn't even getting surgery.
I worked for a dr once who made fun of a hiv positive patient and the nurse would make fun of what the patients wore it was disgusting i hate how my family has so much respect for people in the medical field and some of the worst people i met were nurses constantly made fun of patients gossiped slept with drs and had attitudes of walmart employees
Well the doctor I worked for the nurse approached me and said that patient was cheating on his wife and got syphilis he’s trying to hurry up n get treatment because his wife is back in town now and I was just shocked as a 18 year old straight out of high school first job n all I had so much respect for nurses and doctors up until that moment then I found out how she got a job there apparently the nurse met the Dr at a bar n hooked up that’s why he hired her
Right she insulted them before setup the mic and to see what they say like that’s a whole setup to sue and I bet she got away with plus I would be trying to strike up a conversation to that’s what they are doing
Why is that chilling? Was it followed by a botched surgery? Any attempt to cause her disfigurement or undue pain? Would a better way to say it have been that only a moron would say that to the person doing your surgery? It is a moronic, short-sighted, self-centered thing to do. It is what those with very low IQs think will get them what they want while holding no potential consequences. Do you really, truly think that a surgeon, after 13-16 years of college, med school and residency would jeopardize their license, career and income over something said by an idiot? That they have not endured far worse treatment before and dealt with it?
Exactly my thought, their behaviour was wrong but how was it racial ? Again with the victim race card ... personally I think she was looking for any reason to sue them to get free money, I noticed how common it is in the US, suing not to get justice but to get money.
My doctor wouldn't do anything to figure out why I was in pain. For 10 months she kept giving me different pills to mask the pain. I told her I needed actual tests done and she left the room for a minute. I heard her through a vent telling her co-worker I was a whiney bitch. I left and went to the ER. Told them what happened and they did an ultrasound and sent me for a scope and found out I had a bleeding ulcer. They moved me to a different doctor, thank God.
You can all say "well how is this different from talking about customers at x, y, or z", but it IS different. You're entirely vulnerable during surgery. You're naked and unconscious. Having people talk that way about you when you're in a vulnerable state does hurt, and only increases anxiety for any future surgery or interaction with medical staff.
You have a point, these doctors have been saying some nasty things-but be mindful that it CAN be a sort of stress-reliever. Surgeons undergo tremendous amount of stress, and by talking, it can help them focus on the task at hand. It's dirty, but it can help for any person on any type of job. And to be fair, I would have gotten slightly agitated if a lady came up to me, demanding a surgery within "this amount of time", and threatening to file a complaint.
So what, she was unconscious? I awoke during a surgery on general anesthesia it happens but even if most people won't wake up,what does it say about those doctors? It speaks volume about what they really are.
@@preciousthing101 there job is to perform surgery nicely and not censor their speech in front of a knocked out patient. These surgeries go on for hours, they are entitled to talk whatever they like.
I overheard a doctor making fun of my cough when I was a teenager, she was mocking me and the other doctors and nurses were laughing. 😥 It reminded me of mean girls in High School, I couldn't believe that doctors would do that, I had so much respect for doctors. After that I did not want to go to the doctor because they mocked me when I was very sick.
I had something similar happened to me but not going to the doctor doesn't punish anyone but yourself. . I have had lemons as physicians as I have had in almost every others service I've utilized.. surgery, would be, rough on the surgeon and nurses. Thus is high stakes. Better be on your toes at all time. How I am treated in the healing process was way more important to me than what they say when unconscious. After 13 hours of surgery, with low expectations, the first thing I heard was" she is one strong women.. that was enough positivity for me and as I was taken care of as a went in and out of consciousness was all I cared about. I made it, I was alive. I was taken care of. If they didn't harm me but did their work, I could care less if they said something about my big caboose. The only trouble I had was my release, when the hospital pencil pusher , insisted I had to go home, while suffering in major pain. The doctor and nurses fought for me, the hospital threw me out. The pencil pusher won and since I was no ambulatory, had to hire and ambulance to get me home , on frozen roads in a winter storm. That is what I call mean and cruel. Words don't bother me because i can give as much as I can get. And believe me I would have given it back in spades.
I had two surgeries and I know it is always a good idea to treat your surgeon with the utmost respect. I always smiles and make jokes to make them laugh. Always remember to say please and thank you to the nurses. You want to have a pleasant stay at the hospital. Treat them nice and they will treat you nice because at the end we are all people.
That goes both ways. Unfortunately, sometimes it is simply not up to me. Especially male doctors. It is an obvious pattern in my country. Especially if you're young or a female they want you to perform hardcore emotional labour without them doing the same in return whatsoever, and they would treat patients on a conditional egoistical basis, an energy I could so obviously feel. You ask one question that you could reasonably ask as a patient because you want to have more information about your own health, but just slightly fail to control the tone, and they immediately interpret it as 'challenging their authority' and take it personally. It is unreal and these men should absolutely not be doctors. But yeah, 'in principle' I don't disagree with you.
I remember hearing the nurses making fun of me outside my hospital room after my c section. I had just gone through 30 hours of labor and I was honestly pretty stoked to get this baby out… I was SUPER friendly and said “girl” a lot. They were laughing about it outside later on… it’s lame to be made fun of in really vulnerable moments in your life
@@bethanyriddle7039 That's hilarious, what's there to even make fun of? I'd say 'girl' a lot too. I'm sorry that they did it to you in a such situation, wishing you and your family all the happiness.
They are professionals who are hired for the purpose of preserving human life not like she could go to a butcher, a hernia for a lady would not be a very pleasing experience, probably just a little less pain than child pangs. doctors are societies most trusted citizens, or! they should be according to the oaths they make. just a bad day at the office, she looks well, thats all that matters, maybe gonna try & hit the lucky payout over the matter, tax payers will sort it out as usual.
Sometimes that is what it takes. Sometimes the person has no other alternative but to have that place perform the operation. The lawsuit was a motivational tool to get them to do what they were supposed to have done. It is funny she mentioned lawsuit and they then did the operation. I have been in situations like this. Either for insurance or other reasons, I could only go to this one hospital they kept putting things off. I finally mentioned a lawsuit and they did the operation. Sometimes you have no other choice. I am sure if she had a choice she would have gone somewhere else.
People that work in hospitals are mean. I know I worked in one and what they say behind a patients back is discussing. I had to walk away so I didn’t lose it. I called them out but when the boss engaged in the same behavior it didn’t help much. When I have to have a procedure I always tell them I know you are going to say nasty things about me when I am out, just remember I have people that love me so keep them in mind.
A lot of workplace are like that. Workplace gossips. Talking about customers/clients/patients that are behaving in a certain way. Or talking about each other. I hate it. Cause you never know they might be talking about you behind your back, even over miniscule stuff, but they're all smiles/best friends when you're with them. But I learn to just assume people do that generally. It'll keep my guard up mentally.
Because they don’t care about their patients. They make the most money out of anyone in the world. I had a doctor record my visit on his personal cell phone today while he drilled me over personal questions
During eye cataract surgery one is wide awake. The nurses on my first surgery would not shut up talking about their recent dates. I had two doctors, one supervising the other. The head surgeon finally told them to “shut up” and keep their personal lives out of the OR. I was so thankful he did!😁
in operating rooms is one thing, it's when your doctor says something completely off-color to your face that is even more upsetting! I had a re-occurring infection in my tonsils that kept coming back over and over again. I was a single mother, living with and helping take care of my parents and my toddler son. At one point my tonsils had swollen up to the size of golf balls and I was hospitalized to get the swelling down. Two weeks later, they started swelling again and I went into my doctor's office. He actually asked me, and I quote: "Who've you been blowing?" I was so insulted! I was much too busy working two jobs and caring for my parents and my son to even think about being sexual active whatsoever! I reported the incident to the county medical board who brushed it off by saying that I must have misunderstood him. No, I did not! You don't misunderstand someone when they ask you in that way!
The lack of empathy here is astounding. Here's the thing- it's not just any person talking shit. It's a person that you're trusting your life with. The slightest mistake could have lifelong consequences, and they aren't focusing on the operation. Instead, they're beratting this naked and vulnerable person who they're supposed to be caring for. If they can't handle doing their job properly without getting their emotions involved in the middle of the operation, maybe they shouldn't be doctors. EDIT: Turns out the video was actually pretty misleading. The comments were made after the surgery, and the video isn't real (it was just audio). It was definitely rude, but nothing as serious as I first thought.
Gabby Weber Here's the thing you triggered SJW, their comments were made post-op, AFTER the operation. Thats why no action is being taken against those doctors. They didnt do anything wrong. They did their surgery flawlessly then talked some shit lol people just getting butthurt about it.
Gabby Weber they did it properly, do it properly, studied to do it properly for 10 years, have done it properly for another 15. Your point is invalid, you're not paying to get people mindlessly do your biding for you without socializing for hours, you're paying for people to fix a serious problem that threatens your health and life. If you really get more hurt by words than you get hurt by medical issues than you don't deserve physical surgery, you need mental rehabilitation. God I hate people who get offended by a couple of words that are barely considered insults by a growing minority of whiny social justice warriors.
+eloteh If it was at any other point, I wouldn't care- but they were in the middle of an operation. If they talked before or after, fine, but the point is that they were doing something very important that requires focus. If part of their attention is on judging her, that's part of their attention not on the surgery. It's a good thing that they didn't make a mistake, but it's still risky.
She sounds like nightmare of a person, threatening lawsuit against and recording people who are helping her… I’m assuming the surgery was a success if she’s not suing? Yet instead of reflecting on her behavior, she complains to the media 😅
When I worked at the psychiatric hospital, during treatment team rounds, there was a psychiatrist and nurse practitioner who worked together speaking to different patients about their treatment plan. After a patient left the room, they would crack jokes about that patient. This was so appalling and insensitive. The nurse practitioner would always called drug abusers the worse names. These patients were there for help, and the clinical staff had no hope that these people would get better. They really didn't care. Ironically, that nurse practitioner was fired months later for forging prescriptions for opioids because he had an addiction to them. It lets me know people who carry themselves like this really don't have morals and you'd be surprise what they are capable of doing when no eyes are watching.
I am also a former client who have experienced HIPAA violation for years. I let them get away with it because I'm scared to report it to the board. I'm still traumatized after I left the program.
Have you said something to them ? Or someone higher up ? I see all these comments of people with experiences but yet kept your mouth shut ? Literally enabling this shitty behavior 😭😭 I would have went off
@@mazzyy5915 To be honest, I did say something about them but they are the ones causing drama in the first place. They could have speak about it privately other than making the situation worse. There could be factors that lead to gossiping such as jealousy, insecurity, weaknesses, disabilities, etc. Be careful, nosey people are there to use your information against you.
I mean what did u expect:That psychiatrists actually want to help people? They're in it for the money, not to help u lol.I went to group therapy a couple times before, and they constantly treat u like u're different, sick, depressed, blahblahblah, whatever.Like just talk to me like a normal human being ffs. That's the point u see:Treat someone different, and they'll be different. Also one guy's been on antidepressants for 12 *_YEARS_* (his own words).
But not a surprise.
Thank you for your service!
Awesome sir
How awful for you! You might benefit from hypnotherapy to overcome the trauma. Best wishes.
In your case yes, that's borderline neglect.

I hope so you retain your empathy for your whole life
Dude, here in USA , the hospital had only 'Male doctor as a obstetrician' and the nurses were females who were seen 'Inferior' to a doctor
The insult happened to a woman in labour who was taken care by female nurses and doctor was enjoying outside in assembly until his 'Main and inly job to cut a woman and pull baby ' does not arises .
And the male doctor just yawned and came like as if having a morning walk , as if the woman was not imporatnt, and when he came, he put on gloves
'Coercively and forcefully pushed back woman into 'SLEEPING POSITION' who was squating while 'Crowning out baby' and imagibe woman was already had half baby out on squat bar, and while she was in discomfort of half baby out instead, he forcefully pushed her hard thud !!!, as if he is fighting her, and took out scissors and cut her 'Intimatr areaa', a forcful episiotomy when already baby was out safely lol, i.e. cut her without necessity and also WITHOUT ANESTHETIC

True words spoken by the original poster of this comment….First responders and medical staff get much due praise for caring for others, saving lives etc;, and they should get just as much energy put towards their bad behavior. For as many compassionate, caring, and bright staff there are out there, there’s just as many lazy, uncaring, and disgusting staff that risk you or your loved one’s safety through bad practices, ineptitude, misinformation, carelessness etc;. It should ALL be all called out, good and bad…..If you or a loved one have to go in the hospital, always have someone monitor first responders and hospital staff to make sure they’re thoroughly doing their job.
You’d think as surgeons they’d behave PROFESSIONALLY. This is disturbing

@ot8479 , if the surgeons were "unprofessional," why did the woman allow them to perform surgery on her? Why aren't you asking those questions? People just believe whatever is being said without using any critical thinking!

Don’t trust them any more than you would trust a stranger with your child. People are terrible.
Yes, a nurse yelled at me to stop screaming when I was in labor. Then my next child, a very nice nurse showed me how to breath during labor. What a big difference by sharing the littlest tip, and how different people can be.
Its these days
@@MaiProject2024 I would have showing how to breath or ease the pain would be the the first standard response
This reminds me of the way I’ve heard fellow Childcare workers speak in front of babies… just bc they can’t speak doesn’t mean they can’t hear you

When I was a nursing student in 1991, I witnessed an 18 year old Mom give birth to a perfect little baby girl.

I remember everything from my colonoscopy when I was in high school. (I had some health issues that required the procedure to take place even though I was young.) The light anesthetic they used didn't knock me out and I basically watched the whole time. I was able to hear everything but I couldn't really move or talk. They said that this procedure was basically a cattle call and how they thought I was faking it. (Why would a teenager fake something that required a colonoscopy?!) Edit (4 days later): I say that because a doc who is simply having a rough day can be amused while doing this to you. Maybe it doesnt match your sense of humor, but it is a humorous act to perform. A person cant hear you so you say things about them that you normally wouldnt say cause its disrespectful, could get you in trouble, and/or hurt their feeling. Is something people do
Ive also met people who *Vent* about family members to me. People dont always get along with people they care about, but it doesnt mean someone venting about you wants any harm coming your way or is an actual bad person
And
F all this dumb vulnerable or "being at their mercy" talk like it means they are only talking bad about you because youre vulnerable or something, sht aint got nothing to do with it, theyre doing it cause they think youre sleep or cannot hear them, got nothing to do with you being at their mercy, just over here trying to make yourselves sound just for crying, is bs. If anything, they are at your mercy, which is why they do it when you cant hear them. Even if you could hear them and were dying on the table, at their mercy for survival, if they know you can hear them they aint gone say a thing to not hurt you or not hurt themselves cause you can get them fired
Edit 2: Outside of Brookes comments, id dodge the arguing below. Nothing but people comming to make insults (comming to *vent* about me), just to say that venting is bad as a whole rather than just saying its bad to be done around patients and hospital staff you dont know.

My lovely grandad wet the bed when in hospital with a rare paralysing disease at 87, he told us with his weak voice afterwards that he heard the nurses say “oh god he’s wet himself I’m not cleaning that up”.
Karma is real. One day, they will be the patient in the bed. Only their nurses will be much worse

This is one of those "Let me speak to your manager" types demanding special treatment and her doctors were polite enough not to insult her to her face like normal people do. I bet she talks shit about other people in private too. Someone should sue her as well.
Candice Adams s agreed! I totally hate those hoes
They should talk shit in the breakroom....not over her unconscious, bare body.
Candice Adams don't doctors take an oath to not share their patient personal things , including their conversations ?
Link Nguyen your doctor can share information with his surgical team because they are a part of the the treatment process. If the information is relevant. So some things could be shared but some other things are not necessary to share. A doctor might share that a patient is unhappy or easily upset if it might help the team know how to keep the patient happy. But this sounds very mean spirited and not helpful. I've had surgeons tell me how upset their patients are , etc. they share this as a warning to be delicate with their feelings . But making fun of someone is not acceptable. :(

No doubt this has been going on for ages.

How is this shocking to anyone? That is the exact thing most did in high school to raise ones own self esteem by pointing out others faults.
All part of the social acceptance training as children in America.

No one lets another's opinion effect them, unless they let it. If they are the steward of of there own being, what is the issue?
The sad fact is this is how one judges themselves imperfections against another's. Pointing these imperfections out about others. Distracts others from their own. And no one is perfect...

As you said, none is perfect so those doctors should be more humble.

@@Executivebird she smart
It's true tho haha
Why is that chilling? Was it followed by a botched surgery? Any attempt to cause her disfigurement or undue pain? Would a better way to say it have been that only a moron would say that to the person doing your surgery? It is a moronic, short-sighted, self-centered thing to do. It is what those with very low IQs think will get them what they want while holding no potential consequences. Do you really, truly think that a surgeon, after 13-16 years of college, med school and residency would jeopardize their license, career and income over something said by an idiot? That they have not endured far worse treatment before and dealt with it?

Having people talk that way about you when you're in a vulnerable state does hurt, and only increases anxiety for any future surgery or interaction with medical staff.
does hurt*
You have a point, these doctors have been saying some nasty things-but be mindful that it CAN be a sort of stress-reliever. Surgeons undergo tremendous amount of stress, and by talking, it can help them focus on the task at hand. It's dirty, but it can help for any person on any type of job. And to be fair, I would have gotten slightly agitated if a lady came up to me, demanding a surgery within "this amount of time", and threatening to file a complaint.
then don't record it so you won't hear it, she was definitely unconscious
Maybe it's time to find healthier stress relieving that doesn't imply to insult people.
So what, she was unconscious? I awoke during a surgery on general anesthesia it happens but even if most people won't wake up,what does it say about those doctors? It speaks volume about what they really are.
If we started to secretly record each other we won't like what we hear.
Check the movie called (The invention of lying) to see this played out.
No fucking way, they are getting paid big bucks to their fucking job and get out. Not to be unprofessional assholes.
@@preciousthing101 there job is to perform surgery nicely and not censor their speech in front of a knocked out patient. These surgeries go on for hours, they are entitled to talk whatever they like.
@Evon Moore yeah same because you’re not really supposed to know what they talk. Surgery should be good that’s it, don’t care about rest.

This is the first comment I’ve seen without holes👍
When you were a teenager? Where were your parent or parents? Did they overhear it as well?
a doctor once told me to 'shut up' when she was checking up on me. I have tourrettes like tf u want me to do?
Yes, that is what happens when bullies become professionists. 🤦🏻♂️
They were laughing about it outside later on… it’s lame to be made fun of in really vulnerable moments in your life

not like she could go to a butcher, a hernia for a lady would not be a very pleasing experience, probably just a little less pain than child pangs. doctors are societies most trusted citizens, or! they should be according to the oaths they make. just a bad day at the office, she looks well, thats all that matters, maybe gonna try & hit the lucky payout over the matter, tax payers will sort it out as usual.
Typical of your kind.
It'll keep my guard up mentally.

in operating rooms is one thing, it's when your doctor says something completely off-color to your face that is even more upsetting!
He actually asked me, and I quote: "Who've you been blowing?"
I was so insulted!
I was much too busy working two jobs and caring for my parents and my son to even think about being sexual active whatsoever!
I reported the incident to the county medical board who brushed it off by saying that I must have misunderstood him. No, I did not! You don't misunderstand someone when they ask you in that way!
I'm so sorry that happened to you and people shouldn't make a joke about those kind of things shame on your doctor

Well... did you give him the guys name 🤔

It’s not polite to be dishonest with your doctor. You should have spoken up and told him who you were blowing!
You've clearly never met a doctor.
+Best0nlineGamer The title of the video says "during" her surgery, and every other article I could find on it says "during." Source, please?
