Best looking car ever made its absolutely beautiful mate just a dream to me and no doubt you worked very hard to get it thank you for showing it it has to be said it's the best 280 brooklands ford Capri I have ever seen my mate 🇬🇧
Paintwork on the bonnet looked rather mixed under those lights, possibly the original ( but I don’t know if this car is an all new rebuild or if it’s been mothballed from original).
I know what you mean about the bonnet. I see inconsistency like that even on newer cars with metallic paint. I believe it’s been restored at some point in the last 10 years.
As a Capri owner, loved this work. All the 280’s had really thin paint , most of the underneath is unpainted as Ford had run out paint (yes, really). The 280 is by far the worst Capri for rust, many were/are completely rotten, the best protected (and built) cars were the early Mk3’s, especially the Ghia’s which had two coat paint.
Thanks very much. Working on classic cars is always a rollercoaster ride. 25-50 years of god knows what repair work. Every panel can respond differently. This one wasn’t too bad, having gone through a full decent restoration.
Wow as a Capri owner myself of a 1979 2.0 ghia that’s very reassuring! 😂🙈 I never knew that about the 280s being a bodge or about the two coat paint! Learn something new every day
@@arthurdardalis woah didn't know that they run out of green base coat and clear back in the day. Please keep this one in a vac heated plastic shell in a garage then
Couldn't possibly afford the 280 but got a white 2.0 sport put the sane badges stripes and wheels and double exhaust. Looked like a 2.8 injection in the early 90s
@@detailtherapy I only had a replica with the same wheels and 2. 8 stripes. Back in the day but ex ford trained mechanic in the 90s the shell was in superior nic.. Diamond white and all the other older ford techs used to say you got lucky there it was in vgc. White
This was a fully restored show car with a lacquer coat to the paint, so I don’t believe that’s a concern here. Definitely something worth thinking about though.
@@detailtherapy for sure, I only stumbled across your video as I have one in at the moment. I see the asbestos warning on the chassis and under the bonnet and it made me second guess the clear and paint.
My favourite car is the ford Capri. I have an exceptional MK3 Capri. The Capri brook lands did not save the production line for the Capri. It goes to show that it did not become no better than any other Capri. Before the brook lands came out ford went to town on so many MK3 capris and they disappeared. . For me the brook lands did not save the day.
I don't know much about the history of these sadly, but they are definitely a dying breed. This was a cool era for cars and bikes. Don't make em like they used ta.
Wanted one of these so bad back in the day. Absolutely love the colour ! Awesome job 👏👍
Super cool car. Aged well too.
Stunning. What about an inside tour ?
Thanks. I’ll have to record some bits on the interior next time I get it.

This was a customers car, so unfortunately not mine either. Very well looked after and great colour.
Fantastic, looks amazing, thanks for sharing it with us 👍
No problem at all. Thanks very much 👍
awesome work fella beautiful car and finish.
Thanks very much 👍
My capri doesnt see that much water! What a stunning job, well done, shame Ford Heritage doesnt treat the last ever Capri as good as this!
Thanks very much.
I’ll have to message them and see if they’ll set me loose on the museum 😂
@@detailtherapy 🤣🤣👍🏻
Wow, total classic. Great to see it looking so great at the end too, super job!
Thank you very much!
Oh yeah, I like the music ones, but this is good too. Nice to mix it up.
Man I still can't get over that blue.
Thanks for the feedback 👍
hope this legendary beauty will be still with us in 20 years (and running).
It’ll be worth some serious money if it still this nice in another 20 years. Fingers crossed though.
Aslong as its kept in a heated garage or vacum tent to preserve it
Classic old v6 motor I love them !!!
Great engine noise 👌
One of my favourite cars would love one but the prices of these beautiful cars are just on the up all the time very nice job 😊
Great looking cars. Not many left in this condition either.

Brilliant job! Nice colour car to work on.
Thanks. Yeah, it’s a great colour.
Nice! So shiny 😮
Very!

Thank you 😁
Wow really good job again mate very nice capri 💯💯💯💯👍
Thanks very much. Yeah it’s a gorgeous car. Still had that classic car smell to it too. Never gets old.
Great job .on my favorite car ever. Just need to find one in that condition that's for sale. Can't be many as good as that left now .
Thanks.
I have seen a couple come up in restored condition. Not cheap, and not often though.
Beautiful
Certainly is 👌

Don’t make em like this anymore 👌

That sounds sooooooo good.
Back when things were better…, but also worse 😂
How much hp? Very nice car! 😍
I believe this was totally standard, so it left the factory with around 160bhp.
Looks great 😮😍
