Great build! My sorter has been working for over a week. Now, suddenly, the 4th and 6th comparator turned off and will not lock the named items in the hopper anymore. I've rebuilt it and nothing changed. Not sure what happened
Why can't i make this work on Xbox bedrock? The top layer of hoppers works (the layer that puts the unsorted stuff in a box). The second layer of hoppers that are facing the redstone comparator and have 44 named slabs works sometimes, but my chosen item, for example goldbrick, do sometimes change to the bottom layer of hoppers that are facing the chest. And that bottom layer can have copperbrick instead of goldbrick. What's wrong?
With this sorter, you will end up with 1 of the sorting item down in the first slot of the bottom hopper. It works that way by design. So, if you have 1 gold ingot and 44 renamed items in the hopper facing the comparator, when you run items through it, you will end up with 1 gold ingot in the hopper below. Hope this helps in some way.
How are you using the multiple layers of chests? I see you have 3 layers of 4 chests. Do the upper to layers require everything the bottom layer has? If so, you'll have an input chest that's mad high for the top layer?

Another way is to build it so that it runs horizontally at the top and put hoppers underneath. Only make sure to put a block above the elevator or it will launch items all over the place
For some reason, the item I'm trying to sort just gets out of the hopper next to the comparator... It was working well until about 2 hours later. What can I do?
If I wanted the sorter to put multiple types of items into the same chest (for example, iron ingots, iron nuggets, and raw iron all into the same chest), would I then just put one of each of those items in the locked hopper?
i built this and it works (the items that don't belong do go to the output chest), but the hopper that points to the designated storage chest will not feed the items into it despite the fact that it is indeed pointing towards it. For example, if birch log is my item i'm filtering, the birch logs get stuck in the last hopper and don't deposit into the chest. I've verified that everything is set up correctly and am on Java 1.19.2
hmm, I like the way you demonstrated creating one and then how to expand it, but as with every other item sorter video I have seen, you do not explain how you get multiple levels. The opening scene you show 3 tiers of chests, if these are the same items, that is not what I am after. If they are different items in the second and 3rd layers how do you do that with only 1 input chest? As already mentioned, a water elevator would be better than having to go above your chests to do the input
I think what you would do is place a series of hoppers underneath the “overflow chest” in a vertical line so that the items drop through to the next level down and then build the system going the other direction. So all the items start at the top right and flow to the left for row 1, once row 1 items are sorted then the remaining items go into the row 1 overflow. Then the “row 1 overflow” empties into the start of row 2 and the items float to the right, are sorted and the remains goes into row 2 overflow. Rinse and repeat. additionally the drop between rows has to be great enough that no redstone circuits Connect
I'm struggling. I'm on Xbox. I build this nine times side by side and started adding the items but when I get to the end to go check the others out everything is all messed up. It's like me adding items to some of the hoppers is setting them all off and making the number go below 45. Idk what I've done wrong or if I just can't have them side by side
Sounds like you are missing one peice of redstone dust, causing the redstone signal to be too strong and activating all of the filters at the same time. Make sure you have two redstone dust put down behind each comparator, not one.
So, I made this for my iron farm, 3 sorters all for iron ingots and the overflow for the poppies. Every time the first chest gets full, it just backs completely up. it fills the hoppers up until it just stops working.
Does this not work on Java? I've followed the instructions step by step multiple times but the named holder items just go through the hoppers into the chests. They don't get locked. I watched other video's and they show to do the same thing as well. Not sure what the deal is.
I built it like yours, however all the unusable items keeps falling into the chest they don't stay. even if i have a pile of 64 they all go through the hopper down to the chest. Any suggestions?
@@gagemangum2457 I think the redstone mechanism with comparators, torches, dust, etc prevent that as my hoppers in my input chests transfer all items so I think what might be happening is you are putting in the filler items before the contraption is complete so make sure to build the thing in the right order so that the hoppers will be ready for the filler irems. Basically what I was saying in my op is that the filler item is one of the sorted items. What I did is the very first chest after the input chest sorts out the filler item. My filler item is cobblestone named "Y" at an anvil. In the hopper for the first output storage chest I put 1 Y in each of the first 4 slots in the hopper and 41 Y blocks in the 5th slot. That makes it so that my filler item named Y is immediately removed from the sorting line since it is the first thing sorted out. This prevents the filler item from breaking the system. Your reply was vague so I am just guessing on what your problem is as I am not sure about what you are describing.
U have to use a simpler design called "multi item sorter" and connect the 2 together so you can store comon blovks in bulk but plants and ores for example will go to the second (easy) sorter
this doesnt work anymore, i fixed the 22 diamond issue but now if im sorting multiple items the filters start getting sucked through the hoppers into the storage chests
Why is my "unusable" item not staying in the filter hopper like the video shows i have named it unusable and made the whole circuit but when ever i put 44 un usable item in my hopper it does down to the chest.
🤔for some reason my filter doesn't always pull the items into the locked hoppers and I lose items at the end (because I have a dumping chest at the end for items I don't want. So I end up burning items that should have been sorted into chests. I looked at alot of tutorials all built the same but for some reason mine doesn't work 100% of the time. Can it be caused by server lag? Edit: Fixed it, it's because I didn't have a chest at the start, I connected this system to a hopper mine cart system. For some reason without a chest at the start of all the hoppers it was breaking it. 😵💫 Darn redstone witchcraft.
Thanks for the Tutorial :) Do you also know if its possible to put multiple Items in the Hopper that goes into the comparitor? Like Multi Kinds of Log?
I'm integrating this into my gold/xp farm and I've tried this one and by James' item sorter and with both of them I keep having an annoying issue where some of the items that should be filtered and going to their respective chests are bypassing that and going into the overflow chest. I don't know if this is a bug or the sorting system is missing timing or if it's even fixable... My main issue is that I have my overflow chest importing into blast furnaces so I can smelt the gold swords, but when gold nuggets or rotten flesh don't sort properly, they clog up the auto smelt part.
@@thedutchdevil4370 I'm not sure what you're asking... or what 16x stack is, but somehow a few gold nuggets, ingots, or rotten flesh don't get sorted properly and go into the overflow chest along with the swords. I've thought of maybe trying to put filters on the top row of hoppers that lead into the overflow chest, but leaving the first slot empty so only 1 item is moving through the hoppers at a time.
i don't know if it's just me, but every single time i try putting my "unusable" blocks in the hopper facing the comparator they get immediately sucked into the next hopper and into the chest, BEFORE i even get a chance to place the block i want sorted. am i doing something worng? am i supposed to place the hopper, then the items, then everything else? or.....?

Another way is to build it so that it runs horizontally at the top and put hoppers underneath. Only make sure to put a block above the elevator or it will launch items all over the place
For some reason, the item I'm trying to sort just gets out of the hopper next to the comparator... It was working well until about 2 hours later. What can I do?
TYSM! ur amazing man. def a sub keep the great work!
Thank you so much!
I’m having issues where the item sorter won’t work and I just get random stuff in my chests even though it says it works on bedrock
Am I stupid? How are you able to stack the chests like in the first part of the video? Like the rows of 3 high
Какие шейдеры ты используешь в этом видео ?
How do you do 3 chest like in the thumbnail? Do you just do more levels of hoppers?
All right I'll subscribe, you earned it
If I wanted the sorter to put multiple types of items into the same chest (for example, iron ingots, iron nuggets, and raw iron all into the same chest), would I then just put one of each of those items in the locked hopper?
This system works better than Shulkercraft's! well done! You really nailed it.
I just built the sorter it kinda works but some other items do go into the boxes that aren’t suppose to be in there. How do I fix that ??
Thank you, I have subscribed.
Is any one els having problems with it not shorting properly or with the red stone dust not being powerful enough for 2 item shorter
i built this and it works (the items that don't belong do go to the output chest), but the hopper that points to the designated storage chest will not feed the items into it despite the fact that it is indeed pointing towards it. For example, if birch log is my item i'm filtering, the birch logs get stuck in the last hopper and don't deposit into the chest. I've verified that everything is set up correctly and am on Java 1.19.2
This is a easy problem to fix, just rename all your filter blocks using a Anvil, that should fix the problem.
i’m having the same issue on bedrock 1.20 :/
hmm, I like the way you demonstrated creating one and then how to expand it, but as with every other item sorter video I have seen, you do not explain how you get multiple levels.
I just wanted to come and ask the same thing, how do you get the tiers
Hi guys does it not work on servers? I’m playing on donut smp. It doesn’t work. The one sorted item in the filer will go into the next filer
I think im having the same problem, any fix?
Sounds like you are missing one peice of redstone dust, causing the redstone signal to be too strong and activating all of the filters at the same time. Make sure you have two redstone dust put down behind each comparator, not one.
So, I made this for my iron farm, 3 sorters all for iron ingots and the overflow for the poppies. Every time the first chest gets full, it just backs completely up. it fills the hoppers up until it just stops working.
it put a few ingots into my 2nd chest, but that's it.
Does this not work on Java? I've followed the instructions step by step multiple times but the named holder items just go through the hoppers into the chests. They don't get locked. I watched other video's and they show to do the same thing as well. Not sure what the deal is.
Every time I add the items that I don't want to sort they just continues to go through the hoppers.
I built it like yours, however all the unusable items keeps falling into the chest they don't stay. even if i have a pile of 64 they all go through the hopper down to the chest. Any suggestions?
Did you renamed them?
@@SashaLegush Yes I did I tried every wich way but they all went down to the chest. They never stayed in the hopper
Nice Video Keep Up the Grind 👍
Actually great video in a short time, keep up great work
Pretty sure I found a failsafe for accidentally running your 44 hopper filler item through, just make the filler item the first block sorted.
My hopper is letting all the blocks go through Any advice
I made a stack of anvils thinking we need them for mechanisms...
this is just an impulse item sorter, it has been the standard for years...
Do you have to fill In every hopper before it works I have one empty one nothing to put In it yet
HELLO thank you very much for your video, just wandering what is your shader pack?
Dude this saved my life, no more horrid chest sorting for me 😂
Thank you for this! How do you incorporate multiple chests per item like you have in your survival world?
U have to use a simpler design called "multi item sorter" and connect the 2 together so you can store comon blovks in bulk but plants and ores for example will go to the second (easy) sorter
what texture packs are you using?
How do you add extra chests for this build like in the intro?
this doesnt work anymore, i fixed the 22 diamond issue but now if im sorting multiple items the filters start getting sucked through the hoppers into the storage chests
great video. perfectly explained. please keep it up!
Can somebody tell me how to extend it upwards?
Why is my "unusable" item not staying in the filter hopper like the video shows i have named it unusable and made the whole circuit but when ever i put 44 un usable item in my hopper it does down to the chest.
Make sure your redstone torch is on the right spot. It needs to lock the hopper.
Bro explains better than my teacher
But the hopper that below the "filter hopper" has the items also locked
How do i fix that?
in germany we say: hat nicht funktioniert du Kekse
Thanks for the Tutorial :) Do you also know if its possible to put multiple Items in the Hopper that goes into the comparitor? Like Multi Kinds of Log?
My items will sort the hopper but they won’t go into the chest any way of fixing that?
I'm integrating this into my gold/xp farm and I've tried this one and by James' item sorter and with both of them I keep having an annoying issue where some of the items that should be filtered and going to their respective chests are bypassing that and going into the overflow chest. I don't know if this is a bug or the sorting system is missing timing or if it's even fixable...
My main issue is that I have my overflow chest importing into blast furnaces so I can smelt the gold swords, but when gold nuggets or rotten flesh don't sort properly, they clog up the auto smelt part.
Did you get a fix?
@@yyPana Nope. I've just had to check on it and clear out anything that got through manually.
is it 16x stack or non stackable items? because they need different numbers I think in the sorter
I built this with a auto blast furnace worked fine maybe re work what you have built
How did you do the 3 stacks of chests under for 1 item?
3:02 By the end of this ear!
Yoooo ur new video and mustache is fire
i don't know if it's just me, but every single time i try putting my "unusable" blocks in the hopper facing the comparator they get immediately sucked into the next hopper and into the chest, BEFORE i even get a chance to place the block i want sorted. am i doing something worng? am i supposed to place the hopper, then the items, then everything else? or.....?
I was running into this issue too. I think in the video, he forgot to add that you have to place a redstone torch behind each hopper (he did it on the first one he built but not the ones he expanded). I believe this will work.
@@skzboba I think this is what eventually fixed my problem. I ended up making it a few times in different places and every time after my test, it seemed to work. Thanks for your response nonetheless.
Why is it filling the hopper to a stack when I put something in?
Doesn’t work on bedrock
Thanks
You helped me sort the poppy's out of my iron farm
when i try to put the named items in the hopper fashing the comparator they get pulled by the hopper connected to the chestl, whats wrong?
Not much youtube minecraft channel doing the same as you, explaining the mechanic. Nice
so if we wanna have it put multiple types of blocks in a single chest do we replace some of the named items with the other items we want sorted?
Can you confirm?
@@yyPana I wish I knew myself lol
i have a question, every time i try to put my nether rack into the thing it doesn’t go in the chest it says in the middle hopper.
Does this not work on paper servers? It keeps breaking and putting the placeholders in the chests causing anything to go in.
can this be done with multiple items for one??? wanna do a raid farm but only wanna get the redstone, emrolds and totems, can all 3 of those be filtered to one chest??
How do you make the sorter stackable like in the beginning
The sorter was originally designed by @impuslesv ruclips.net/video/NHjWYCDYJ4s/видео.html
Can u double or triple the chests?
Yeah mate, I have 4 chests running on all of mine, you can add as many as you want just keep adding hoppers and chests under the last one.
