  • Gary Numan embarks on his new tour celebrating his two most famous albums. I had the pleasure of seeing him in in Norwich last night.

I was also at this show and even though it was my 8th time seeing him and having grown up on his music from birth, I feel like this particular show brought everything to a new level and is the best time I've seen him to date, including his 1,000th gig celebration in London that I had the honour of going to last year!

Hope he comes to the north east part of the states.

I saw him live about 6 years back and it was an excellent gig. Also so him on the original Pleasure Principle tour, although it was good I think he is better now. Aged like an ancient oak!

To think that he was considered to be a poor Bowie imitation back in the day.
Thanks for the review, you do remind me of a younger version of Charles Dance too. 👍

Saw Numan several times in the early 90s when he said he was at his lowest career point. I preferred that stuff to the repetitive industrial stuff he's doing now

Early stuff 78-81ish, brilliant, Tubeway Army, Pleasure Principle, Replicas, Telekon. Sorry, but for me loving sythns, it's got worse and worse, heavier and heavier. m/e does a Numan stare! :) Cheers!

I just don't understand the love for this parody act. The synth sounds are nothing like they are on those early albums especially Are Friend's Electric and the stage antics or dad dancing are just hideously embarrassing. Honest to God he's more of an embarrassment than he ever was back in the day when the press took aim at him.

Very true. That's why I go to see Tubeway Days instead. A tribute band that's way more authentic than Numan himself.

His music was pioneering , sure there was Kraftwerk, Pink Floyd Brian Eno using synths before Numan , but only Gary Numan blew the doors off their hinges with those synth sounds on Are Friends Electric, and the classic songs that followed.
Like Bowie , Mike Oldfield, Kraftwerk and Pink Floyd , Numan was made for the hearts and minds of those looking for the magic in life .

Glad you enjoyed it. I went to see Gary Numan on the Savage tour with the Skaparis Orchestra and was completely mesmerised. Went back to see his Newcastle show on the Intruder tour, completely different but equally brilliant. The man is a master of his craft & I'd recommend his live performances to everyone 😃😃😃

Saw him in Sheffield last night, 10th time I’ve seen him, still on top of his game after 45 years, excellent show, powerful sound, looked like he was enjoying it himself, which is great to see.

Numan never did it for me and never will. A fringe teenybopper's icon rather than a serious musical offering. How he's still able to be mugging off those so gormless after all these years with such little content speaks volumes about the general public and what's between their ears!

Ooooooooooooo get you wtf is that comment supposed to mean? Just seen him lastnight at the O2 Glasgow Academy and he was on fire playing for nearly 2 hours he will never fill up the Hydro or Hampden Park but at least he won't be charging fans over £200 or more for tickets like Pink Taylor Swift and all the crowd pullers take it that you are not a Numan fan yet you feel the need to make a comment don't get it

    • @theeventhorizon-valebridge9512

@@peterrinaldi3445 I made a comment because I watch this channel and Gary Numan was this episode's content! I am not a fan, no. Neither am I a fan of any of the others you've mentioned.
As for watching so called live events, again it's a no from me. 99% of all musicians are much better on their albums than live. There are a few exception, those being the properly talented people who started their musical journeys decades ago, you know actual musicians rather than silly "acts."
It's not about filling the biggest arenas either, that's just about money and commercialism. It's about filling the biggest minds of the listeners with their unique musical expression that has depth, passion, emotion and meaning, an extension of their inner self through their instruments.
Numan? A relatively talentless has-been, still peddling and cashing in on his old simplistic sounds and strange looks from his fan base of limited musical minds.
You today have all the music ever produced at your finger tips and you choose to waste money and time in venues watching shallow tripe. Learn and move on.
There's a world of discovery out there to be found, and it won't come from the bands that are generally well known either!

"His fan base of limited musical minds". I've seen Numan loads over the years along with well over 100 other artists. They must have all been crap too then. 😂
