“I’m so proud of you, do your thing girl!” I would’ve burst into tears
Gurl Same 😢😍
I teared up a little
That moment really got me !
Me too
Same 😢😅
Sheryl Lee Ralph such a freaking icon!
Definitely...so glad she is getting her flowers
She has stepped from Icon to Legend! A Trail Blazer!!!
ABSOLUTELY
Well deserved !
Classy lady
Respect ✨🙏💞🙏✨
stunning 💕
Mind you Sheryl only got nominated for the Tony. Jennifer won the Oscar. But the humility recognizes that a legend should always be given their flowers first. Jennifer knows she's a Dreamgirl, yet will always highlight those that made the way for her. Incredible
For this she will always be respected and supported.
Yes I agree, she knows how to show respect and honor! ❤
Amazing!
Jhud won the oscar, tony, grammy, and emmy
Jennifer Holliday won the Tony over Sheryl (as she should have)… JHud won the Supporting Oscar which was kinda odd (should have been Actress).
Jennifer's body language says it ALL! I absolutely love how she leans in and how engaged she is with her guests. She was hanging on every word Sheryl said, such a beautiful moment!
So lovely :)
Yassssssss!!!!!!!! Her body language is everything!!
Jennifer is also an actress , she won an Oscar for her acting so can we really judge body language when she has never spoken of Sheryl prior yet she is her idol ?
@@ashoikieramsay8282 oh shush 🤫
@@ninaaden8338 lol, why they gotta be so negative. When she hugged her and Jennifer's eyes closed. That was a real moment.
3:12 broke me. That brought tears to my eyes.especially when she said “and guess what? I’ll be there.”
I saw your comment before I saw that part and ugh.. I couldn’t agree more! why I’m here crying 😭. I felt all of that like she was speaking to me🥹 and anyone else who truly felt that because sometimes, you need to hear that from someone. Just that care and encouragement🤗❤✌🏽
Jennifer Hudson has a hit show on her hands! 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Amen 👏🏿 💯 ❤️ 🙏🏾 👏🏿
I didn't even know she had a show!
She does. She is very engaging. She had me tearing up when she sang that gospel song to that lady on 9/23/22 episode. Blessings JHud
I love her show
Sheryl looks not much older than she did in the 90's, my gosh she is so beautiful and talented!
She's a vampire *shh don't tell nobody *
She said "I'll be there." 😭 This was a BEAUTIFUL moment. 💜
Hearing her speak always gives me chills. The mere sound of her voice is so commanding, soothing and powerful. I love Ms. Ralph soooooo much! Thankful she represents my people. 🙏🏾👑💜💜💜
Yes her voice -you instantly pay attention. Phylicia Rashad also :)
Yes!!
her and jennifer lewis both have a voice and cadence that makes me feel like i'm 7 eavesdropping on my granny's conversations again. very nostalgic and comforting
The hug and the "I'm so proud of you"😪😪😥😥😥😪😪😫😫💚💚💚💚
Two Legends on same stage 🥰
One legend
@@roberth5708 Nope. 2
@@roberth5708 NOT TOO MUCH ON JENNIFER HUDSON AND SHERYL LEE RALPH NOW😂
@@googlehome8663 right!! we can not throw the word legend around so loosely..sheryl could be her mother!!
Jennifer Hudson has not achieved legendary status yet. She has done a groundbreaking thing. Being the first American Idol contestant to win an Oscar award. She is an industry veteran. Legends are considered working for at least 25 years. I remember Sheryl Lee Ralph when she appeared on the sitcom Good Times back in the 70s and I remember seeing her in the movie "A Piece Of The Action" at the Drive-In theatre (Yeah the real Drive-In theatre) back in the late 1970s way before starring in the legendary ground breaking Broadway play Dreamgirls in the early 80s. I still have her album she put out in the late 70s and she released a single in the early 2000s. Sheryl Lee Ralph is a trailblazer and has been a survivor in the entertainment business for (Decades) and all I have is high admiration for Sheryl Lee Ralph because she hung in there for decades getting small roles, getting dogged out in the industry, getting whatever she could to be the best that she is. All I have for Sheryl Lee Ralph is total respect for her because if you look at her acceptance speech when she received her (Emmy Award) you will understand (hopefully) and wonder why she felt the way she felt. Jennifer Hudson has talent BUT she didn't have to work as hard as Sheryl Lee Ralph did. When you see how Sheryl had to slightly push Jennifer over to show her the Dreamgirls routine it's because (The Legend) Sheryl Lee Ralph knows what she's talking about and knows what the hell she's doing.Thats why she kinda backed over some for their Dreamgirls performance.
Jennifer has ALOT of catching up to do.
RESPECT THE LEGENDS that paved the way and had finally received the awards and accolades that are DESERVED!!
⭐⭐FAST FACT⭐⭐
Sheryl Lee Ralph was the ONLY Black actress that was cast on the sitcom
"It's A Living" back in the mid 1980s. She left her mark on the show. #groundbreaking
Super sweet! And I love how respectful Jennifer Hudson is with her “yes ma’am.” This was EVERYTHING!
I was going to comment the same thing lol Sheryl is like a mama figure for us who grew up with Moesha etc lol
@@BowtiesRcoool now you have read my mind 🤣🤣🙏🏾🖤❤️🇬🇧
One thing Jennifer is gon do is giving a legend their flowers. Love it!!!❤
When she said..and guess what?...ill be there...wow such a warm heart and class act
And I know that wasn’t scripted
Both are Dream Girls, Effie and Deena. Two Emy award winners❤❤❤
Sorry but, Queen Bey didn't get
nominated for a Emmy acting
as Deena in Dream Girls, Jennifer Hudson won the academy award
for best supporting actress as
Effie. She also won a Emmy
and Golden Globe award for
her acting performance in the
movie version. Both women
are Grammy Award winners 👏🏼 DREAMS DO MATTER PEOPLE PEACE&LOVE
@@barbiefunkyfaceb I think he was talking about Mrs. Sheryl Lee Ralph. Mrs.Sheryl played Deena in the original Dreamgirls on Broadway. She recently won an Emmy for Abbott Elementary.
@@barbiefunkyfaceb LOL, Eric is talking about the people in the clip you just watched.

Let me tell you the black girl magic that just encircled their moment when they looked at each other gave me chills. It’s not I see you cause you’re black.. It’s I see you because I see your hardships, your passion, and what you’ve overcome to be right here because you are black
They are both such accomplished, witty, funny, stunning women, bless them 🙏
Sheryl Lee Ralph has an energy that radiates and is comforting
Sheryl Lee Ralph and Phylica Rashaad 💕 Edit - and Iyanla Vanzant.
Something about how this era of woman are just so captivating - voice, poise, wisdom and beauty.
Edit. We have these wise women in our communities - let us cherish the wisdom age can bring by sitting down, talking and listening to what is being said. We love them 💟
Two true ladies; true queens
Phylicia Rashaad is just Ace
Yassss
What's sad is that they don't make them like that anymore. I love those women, so classy and showing what black excellence truly is.
Its not just celebs, look around. They can be that lady next door, your boss, or co-worker, the female pastor. Even guys that I met in passing, im amazed by their wisdom. I love listening and growing. We're all teachers and students. 💗🙏😇
This was so cuteee, I’m warming up to Jennifer’s show! I wish they would post the full episodes.
Me too. Almost none do😣
Me too
Me too, I like each clip they show I want her show to be successful.
So far the show has been decent
Hello…. I couldn’t resist saying how are you doing and I hope you are keeping safe and sound by you today ?
Why am I getting all emotional? 😭 This Is the Moment! Sheryl Lee Ralph, Tony Award nominated and most certainly worthy to have won, is one of the original cast members of the Broadway show "Dream Girls" from 41 years ago and the young Jennifer Hudson, cast member of the remake released in the year 2006 film "Dream Girls" who won an Oscar for her performance. Yesss!! I'm so proud of them! The hug took me down.
I’m not crying, you are lol! That hug Sheryl gave Jen was from the ancestors baby!! I felt that all the way from CT! 😭🥹❤️
Love to see our sisters embracing each other 🤗❤️
I teared up when I saw them embrace. So beautiful together. Kudos to both QUEENS❤
If I could have an ounce of Sheryl's confidence!!! I heart her soooo very much! She's such a lady, a confident and strong willed woman and truly kind. UGH! I can't say enough about her! And KUDOS to Jennifer for giving Sheryl her flowers. She deserves them all!!
Build to that level of confidence. You can do it!!
Honestly watch more of her interviews. She wouldn’t be nearly as bright if she didn’t do the internal work and she says so. She can love and embrace so openly because she gave it to herself first
I'm here cause I love both of these beauties and the fact that Sheryl is a Jamaican 🇯🇲 this is how Black Queens give each other their flowers 💐
Sheryl told Jennifer she's so proud of her whilst hugging her!!!!
Yes. Those last few seconds were so heart-warming. Sheryl said "do ya thing girl". Had me tearing up🥲

What? I thought she was in her 40s. Black women! The blueprint 👌👏👏👏👏

Exactly! Cause baby where?! She is aging in a way I can only hope to!😍 Phenomenal!

What a moment to witness these two extraordinary "Dreamgirls" ! Sheryl Lee Ralph and Jennifer Hudson...👏🏾😁
Sheryl Lee Ralph is such a class act. I think the original Dreamgirls (Sheryl Lee Ralph, Jennifer Holliday, & Loretta Devine) should get together for a Broadway album and tour. It woudl be amazing to see these talent women perform together again!
Love me some Sheryl Lee Ralph. She is awesome. She has such a warm inviting and unpretentious aura. So glad she won an Emmy.
It’s Jennifer remembering her choreography from the movie for me lol. She was conflicted like, “should i follow Sheryl or do what i know?” Lol
OMG...this was Magical. Two era's of Dream Girls..Singing together....I'm now teary eyed.❤️❤️❤️
I never expected Jennifer Hudson to be great at this but she's doing an amazing job as a talk show host
Agreed
Hello…. I couldn’t resist say how are you doing and how are things over there by you today ?.
Someone was chopping onions near me towards the end. I definitely wasn't crying though 😭
Awww I feel emotional watching this 🥰
Sheryl is a timeless beauty 💜 and Talent
I wish the powers that be had let all the original Dreamgirls have a cameo in the movie. Would have been epic.
Love Sheryl's audition story. I had no idea she was a Dream girl back in the day.
She wasn’t A Dream Girl. She is THE Dream Girl. I loved Beyoncé performance but this role belongs to Sheryl.
A lot of people only know her from Moesha, but Sheryl has been doing it since the early 80s on Broadway and television... "It's a Living" "Designing Women" and movies like "The Distinguished Gentleman" with Eddie Murphy. I'm so glad Quints Bronson wanted her for "Abbott Elementary" and she won an Emmy.

Sheryl Lee Ralph gave her such a Mama hug. That was such a touching moment. She's always been one of my favorites, and this was such a treat to see. Ageless, timeless, woman of substance. 🥰❤️🙏🏽
Sheryl Lee Ralph is Icon and timeless beauty.
Forty years ago, she was drop dead gorgeous and still today, she's drop dead gorgeous and foxy to boot! What a legend!
Now that was an iconic moment that is epic. The original dreamgirl with the 2006 version is epic. Congratulations Jennifer on the new show.
Look at GOD! Sheryl’s audition story was pure gold. 🏆💃🏽🏆
Just absolutely love how humble and respectful Jennifer is, acting like she didn’t win an Oscar for the role… playing the back to the OG. Not only outrageously talented and beautiful … but a true class act. ❤️
Stop-it!! This was the most, fabulous, inspiring moment! Sheryl is sheer elegance, and the way she was moving was effortless. Jennifer Hudson giving Sheryl her flowers is so iconic to me. Especially due to them being Dreamgirls for different generations. I got chills seeing them together moving back and forth with Jennifer's melodies in the background. Jennifer Hudson Show did not miss with this moment, thank you for sharing!
Now that last few seconds made me tear up!
Jennifer Hudson sounds just like the movie. Perfect.
I cried when she said I’m so proud of you 🥲

I love Sheryl Lee Ralph and her finally really being recognized after all these years. I can tell Jennifer needed that hug! That made my heart smile ❤️
OMG! As a fan of “DREAM GIRLS” original musical & the movie, I ENJOYED WATCHING THIS! I shed a little tear

Grace, elegance and class on both accounts. Love this so much.
Jennifer bless her heart she needed that Momma hug from Mrs. Ralph you can tell in her body language, she look like she just wanted to stay in that moment forever😢❤😢❤😢❤
This is what striving looks like. 😍
Sheryl legend always said it so I’m not surprised and when they harmonized so effortlessly
I was prepared for a full blown out performance 😭
Yes Sheryl,the epitome of beauty,poise,elegance & grace!!!💞💞💞👏🏽👍🏽💪🏽💯
This was so touching I remember meeting Sheryl Lee Ralph in New Orleans at a conference for HIV/AIDS. It was so surreal and she was absolutely amazing and so down to earth. I introduced myself as one of her wonderful fans. She said that it was a first to meet a wonderful fan. I gave her my meaning of the word DIVA and she loved it. The full story began as I was coming in from touring the French Quarters area. I was going to my hotel room that was hosting the events and in front of me on the escalator going up was a beautifully dressed black woman in what appeared to be a lovely floral print dress by Isaac Mizrahi. I noticed her legs and was upset because of her being above me I almost saw too much so I approached not knowing it was her and I politely said I’m taking my coat off to cover you as you go up the escalator and I told her why cause my grandma raised me to look out for all women and that’s what I was doing. I’m a total gentleman when it comes to protecting and catering to woman. After we talked we went our separate ways but I am still a little bit upset with the guy who was with her. I wanted to say to him so bad you’re not supposed to be in front of her you should be beside and behind her just for such moments like this. I think I rolled my eyes at him. 🤣
wonderful gentleman 👏 mama raised you well
I love the way Sheryl sings that song. So soft and airy. Her voice just floats.
Loved it
That hug was everything 😊😍
This made me cry!!! Such an awesome moment for them both. Ms Ralph getting her flowers finally and Jennifer fanning out!🥰
I love how JHud is star struck and respectful.
Sheryl Lee Ralph hasn't aged much at all. She looks absolutely stunning!
I love Sheryl because even when she is getting her flowers she makes sure to share . Love you Queen !!! 🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲
I actually served Sheryl Lee Ralph twice at a Seafood place i used to work at. And in person shes exactly like she is on camera. Shes always nice and you can tell shes a very strong black women.

When I saw this video's thumbnail, I didn't realize who JH was posing next to. My 1st thought was:
"Does Jennifer have her sister on as a guest?".
I was 🤯 to realize that it was *SLR* that I saw in that thumbnail !! I swear these two incredible talents do not look (or sound) like there's 25 years between them. And then, Ms. Ralph sung her 1st note and I *INSTANTLY* remembered falling in ❤ with her voice when I heard her sing on *It's A Living* . Jennifer is wonderful, very true. But Ms. Ralph is EVERYTHING!!! GBY ladies❤

She is so theatrical! a true ENTERTAINER! she needs to make an audio book
I'm so happy for Jennifer Hudson, really proves that you don't have to be a winner of a show to win in Life!
I'm so used to everyone fan girling over Jennifer, it was soooo cool to see HER have that moment of fan girl with Sheryl
But Jennifer's voice!!
It just steals hearts!
Reading about Sheryl Lee Ralph in the book "On My Way to Hollywood" was so comical and endearing. I would love to have attended one of her parties. She is a queen and a legend!
I JUST WANT TO CRY!! Jennifer Hudson you absolutely deserve and was suppose to been had a show and you are just killing it!! It’s been a long time since I’ve seen a show so raw, real and you someone being themselves. I love you and can’t wait to see moreeeeeeeeeeee to come!!

I have seen so many talk show hosts in my life, but Jennifer is the best. She is so genuinely sweet and honestly listens to her guests without trying to steal the show or interupt. She asks great questions and it shows that she cares.
