Sorry Morgan but it’s definitely not a gothic school. Wednesday is the only one who wears all black, everyone else has a black and blue uniform. It’s literally like Hogwarts, a school for people with special abilities.
They kept asking why she’s the villain & im liiike “Who said she was?! Lol… that’s like sayin AC Slater was a villain because Zack didn’t like him all like that, but they was kinda cool but kinda hated in each other 😂 teen shit… & I think I just showed my age #savedbythebell lol
@@SeanTanktop For this show, I believe they were trying to portray Wednesday in a more human aspect. Sure she is anything other than human but she is a teenage girl going through puberty, trying to find her place in life, living under the shadow of her mother, getting jealous of someone looking down on her. It's definitely something different from what we are used to. I think people have a problem with the fact that we grew up with a certain image of Wednesday, so any creative liberty or slight change in character will bring out a gatekeeper in all of us.

Bianca isn't the villain and it's not because she keeps winning the Poe Cup that Wednesday doesn't like her, it's because of what Bianca said to Xavier about her thinking she's better than everybody else, and also it may have been the fact that Bianca said she wanted to watch Enid crumble and Wednesday is already feeling attached to and protective of Enid.
A therapist reacted to this show, his take on Wednesday's therapist reading her writing, without her consent, was that it was actually bad. It was an invasion of Wednesday's privacy, which would derail attempts to build trust and put a patient in defensive mind set.
Wednesday doesn’t like the fact that someone cares a lot about being popular or necessarily having to be mean for social status, I think Wednesday prefers the people who are more unique and are loyal to others thus Eugene and Enid being her friends. Just what I think and what I take away from Jenna Ortega’s portrayal of Wednesday.

"Bianca (the siren) and her team (of sirens) keep winning year after year. No one knows how. Oh look, one of her siren friends is taking off his shirt and diving into the water."
I think the show does a pretty good job showing that the Addams' are weird even on the scale of "the other" that make up the rest of the school. For the most part, all the other weird kids aren't actually that weird, they are like everyday normal kids, with much of the same hobbies and outlook on life, except plus something extra. The show literally showed and continues to show this contrast between Wednesday and everyone else at the school. No one else has her morbid fashion sense(except maybe a couple of the vamps) which was a big thing I kept getting confused over you guys mentioning over and over, its more of assumptions on your part as opposed to what the show is actually showing us.
Babe, it is heavily IMPLIED. She is intentionally written that way by the writers which is why the team finds it dumb. Like why write her off as some bitch who breaks rules to win when there is no rules to begin with.
Everybody chill. At the moment, Bianca has been written as an antagonist to almost everyone Wednesday has met. I won't say it's a stretch to call her a villain. Maybe we are just looking into it through the eyes of a student. A bully is technically a villain of a school.
The show gets better as it goes on too…they still have some of that teen show cringey vibes in all the episodes but either you get used to it or it is just slightly less cringe writing wise. But for me I felt the show got more and more enjoyable as it went on
@Rick King 22 i get what they’re saying, to me some of the dialogue was hit or miss. Like for example Wednesday’s lines. Some of her comebacks would be so fire and others would just feel out of place. I overall enjoyed the show a lot but there were a couple of spots where I cringed. Wasn’t super bad though, didn’t detract from my overall enjoyment too much
Wednesday chooses to look more goth than everyone else, her uniform is custom made and is full on black, while others wear black and blue uniforms. But outside from their school uniforms everyone dresses up normal or colorful like enid but Wednesday doesn't, she still dresses up goth And wednesday not getting along with Bianca makes sense, sure both of them have similarities but Bianca comes off as shallow to wednesday. first impressions matter, especially for this interpretation of wednesday.
Also, the first time Wednesday saw Bianca she was belittling... shoot, what's his name... the kid with telekinesis who tried to kill her. Wednesday doesn't know their history, so it looked like the popular girl picking on the awkward and unpopular kid, and our girl clearly dislikes people who bully those weaker than themselves. Wednesday's not nice per say, but she doesn't punch down unless deliberately provoked.
@passenthrualaska3293 She belittled him because he literally tried to lie on her in front of everyone, saying she cheated, so he deserved it. All she really did was tell him he sucked and step his game up lol...
I dont get why they think Bianca is a villain.. they never tried to make her a villain..her and wednesday jst happen to bump heads which is normal because they both have strong personalities...wednesday starts most of her interactions with others in a not so friendly way. When wednesday wants to fight her the teacher says the fight with the other kid was fair..wednesday just wants to fight with the best and she also isn't fan of popular kids..that's it.
Just found your channel recently and been binging your content and loving it! And I think one of the reasons they kind of paint Bianca as bad in this episode is because while there are no rules during the race itself, Bianca poisoned Yoko with garlic the day before .... idk if it counts as cheating but I would say it does because why wouldn't the other contestants just destroy their competition boats the night before? That or Bianca's just smarter than everyone else 🤷♂️
This one came across to me as everyone hates themselves if they run into themselves. She and Wednesday seem almost identical. I think that pushing is a little bit trying to give you wednesday's perspective on the other hand.
Guys, it's fun to see where your mind went with the black light, but those were very clearly fingerprints, which is why she immediately realized there was a movable floor piece.
"No rules" means she's not cheating. She's just ruthless. When certain other individuals cheat... by definition, they're breaking rules... and often, the law. As you guys noted in the race... "ain't no law." Side note: the "queen bee" being a manipulative jerk doesn't make her a good guy. But as you guys noted - the story is hinting that Wednesday is also manipulative and ruthless. IMHO the underlying point is about being outcasts / weirdos isn't the problem... it's about the damage one does to others.
I could be wrong but the first chair line in science/botony/herbology class or whatever it is…was meant to be about a decathlon team. I think that when it comes to "no rules" in the Poe cup anything that would truly hurt a fellow student IS off limits but understood. The Addams family never dealt with any teenagers in any iteration of the show or movies, so no, we don't know how Wednesday would handle being a teen, and being that virtually all girls go through a period like this(granted it is on a scale of how severe), being in direct conflict with their mothers, it is a perfectly valid take.
And if you think this iteration of the Addams are "normal", you aren't paying attention. Like at all.-
For the algorithm
Yeah, I really wish the show was more comedically macabre like the movies. I was really hoping that Wednesday's solution to the merman* was going to be dropping a toaster or bug zapper into the water.
*ok nerds, I know in this canon he's a siren
aren't you guys white? or are you in disguise
👍👍👍✌
So in the movies....Wednesdays comments were spread out over 2 hours....now in the show..we have to hear them all the time..and it does get tiring..you are right lol
Tim Burton has a problematic history with making Black characters the bad guy or unlikable. *Shrug*
SPOILERS
Bianca at least actually turns out to be one of the nicer characters once her and Wednesday stop being snide to each other constantly
The guy wasn't a merman he was a siren that's why his hands looked like that
NERD!!!
