hp 15-db0030w funny case there is 2 ram sockets on the pcb but only one is soldered , 2nd ram socker and ssd socket are not soldered on the board and computer uses ssd passtrough cable connected to sata port internaly there is also fully prepared dvd drive bay but case back is fully filled with plastic so you can't install it without swaping the back. makeas you wonder if the traces on the pcb are fully ok and if installing the socket can give you usable extra ram slot
Not uncommon from HP - have seen that a few times. Yes, the silk-screened ports would probably work if a slot was installed, but hard to do that reliably.
@@BrueComputing well i was thinking more if they did that because a cpu they soldered has like only single memory chanell or no pcie sdd support but that be like going back to the eraly 2000's i would have to check if mobile amd a6 with ddr4 controllers have them in dual channel or not still that is pretty bad design because to get 8gb of supported memory you have to throw out the 4 gb you already have and buying just the other 4 would be much more economical not to mention faster but the dvd bay just made me say "why?" if they just leave a blanking panel on the back you could at least install another drive in a dvd dtay or a dvd itself , and as it is you simply cant without brutaly breaking those filler tabs . Just make one laptop with options hp you don't have to segment the marhet with artificial limitations! i bet the motherboard with different bios and fully loaded support first gen mobile ryzen cpus but not like this, just sad

(they could just stick 2,5 inch ssd into sata port from previous model without changing the doughter board to be m.2 instead of sata, because it is still only sata capable after all) it still bothers me that they basically cut memory bandwidth in half on a cpu with integrated graphics. in my opinion this is purely for market segmentation and not limiting upgrade option, it is more like removing them so you would have to buy new computer instead of 1 or 2 parts or pay more from the get go for less inferior product anyway thanks for the answer i will most likely not atempt to do anything to that computer, because it isn't my and i only got it to evaluate the options for a realy stingy person, so it is alreafy a fun thing to say to her that she bought too cheap pc to even upgrade it

Yes - you should be able to fit a second DDR4-2133 module and a 2.5" SATA SSD. It may also have an M.2 slot, but you'd need to open it up to check as often HP don't have the connector in machines without one fitted.

No, the ASUS X451CA uses Intel integrated graphics and neither the CPU can be upgraded, nor is there any option for fitting a discrete GPU.
