My hands got sweaty just watching this. I've gone skydiving from 17,500 feet so i know how scary and amazing this can be.. but your experience is unlike anything id dream of doing.
The valley, ground, base, or bottom of Mount Everest is already at 17,600 feet above sea level - it’s almost like it sits on a plateau. From the ground, Everest goes up 11,400 feet. For a total of 29,000 feet. This is similar case with most other high mountains.
Technically Everest is the tallest above sea level. There is another mountain much taller in Hawaii. Mt. Mauna Kea stands (from base to tip) 33,496 feet tall. Incredibly Mauna Kea's bulk is 19,700 feet BELOW sea level, with only 13,796 of it above sea level.
@@emprrah Not even close, I’ve been skydiving, and the thought of going up to that altitude in that machine and being able to stay there and look around and fly to other destinations must be such a natural high that I honestly think not to many other things can compare. A lot of people will try skydiving (like myself), but not that many have solid brass balls like this guy. I’m a certified flight instructor, and I would never have the nerve to do this, like I said before, absolutely epic.👌

An experience like that can be almost spiritual. Seeing how grand everything is makes you realize how small we really are. Glad you landed safely. Very cool.
@@ChuckyWright The first time I went skiing in California, it was at Mammoth mountain. 11,080 feet at the summit and you can see for days. I stood there just taking it all in and realized those mountains were there long before me and will be there long after I'm gone. It kind of put my daily worries in perspective as to exactly how insignificant they truly are in the scope of the world. It was a moment to remember. On a different note, the air is pretty thin at that altitude. Did it have any impact on the fuel air settings of the carb? Thin air can be a real problem for a normally aspirated engine.
How this guy can just hang off a motorised parachute at 17.500 feet and act like he’s sat at the kitchen table without the slightest glimmer of fright or anxiety is crazy, personally i’d be shitting red hot bricks and wouldn’t be able to move for the sheer terror of being so insecure at this mental altitude.
If you think it’s great with a motor, do it without a motor relying only on thermals. The peace and quiet without a motor running and being at cloud base is undoubtedly the coolest thing I’ve ever experienced in my life…

When you said “thank you God for creating this earth”, I got pretty emotional. I was getting anxiety just watching this video but it was so amazing. I just turned 60 and two months before my 60th I went parasailing at 400 feet and zip lining at 1800 ft.² in Puerto Vallarta. I am extremely afraid of heights but I was intent on pushing myself to do it. I think the scariest part for me doing what you just did would be coming down. Fantastic job and thank you for documenting this.

Thanks bro, watching this made me forget about some shit I'm going thru, even if just for a little bit.
To put into perspective how high this guy was download an app to your phone called flight 24. It allows you to identify a plane you see above you and it's altitude. 17,000 ft is when you barely see an airliner but you see the vapor trail. You probably could not have even seen this guy from the ground at his altitude.
@@ryanboughton5062 airliners almost always cruise above FL300 (i.e. 30,000'). You must be confusing meters and feet. The only place you'll catch an airliner that low is near an airport. 18,000' is where positively controlled airspace begins and the ability to fly under visual flight rules (VFR) ends. To fly VFR you don't need a flight plan, you don't need to talk to ATC on a radio, you don't need anything except to maintain visual separation from clouds and other planes. That's why he was able to do this and why he could only go to 17,500' even if the paramotor could have flown higher.

Amazing. Extremely brave and daring. Great job recording the event. Honestly this is maybe the most unforgettable video I have ever seen on RUclips or elsewhere. Sounds silly maybe to say this, but damnit you’re a legend. At least in my book.
The Mariana trench is more than 36,000 feet below sea level. What you see here at 17,500 feet is just about (almost) half of how deep the lowest point of the ocean is. Insane.
@@Meme_supplier Doubt it. We can pretty accurately measure the ocean floor with echolocation. The only place where such a deep place might exist is under the pack ice in the polar regions. But then again, subs reached these places... The 10% is true, but it is meant for the life which exists in the ocean. But we know how the ocean floor looks like.
That was insane. And the cherry on top was how you were able to land exactly where you took off, I would have thought you flew to a different state lol
Can't imagine dangling my legs at 17,500 feet! It was a little nerve wracking just looking down from your perspective. This is the kind of thing you have to do when you are young. @A Z The first internal combustion lawnmower engine was made in 1902. And the Wright brother's flight occured in 1903.
@@ChaseThePinballWizard It was built in the U.K and it was massive and a ride on mower.
The Wright brothers probably never heard news of the lawnmower for several years.
Interesting point...it would be interesting to do a comparison of the Wright brothers' engine to this one.
Those early aviators had some nasty crashes. You had to have a lot of balls to go up in those primitive early experimental aircraft.
I had a panic attack on my roof and would not do this for a million dollars but this is jaw-droppingly amazing, beautiful, and fascinating.
Lol! Yea I know that feeling well, I'm not a heights person, didn't fly until I was 31. Every so often at work someone needs me to climb on a roof and sometimes I get that feeling rush through me so as much as I would like to do this it probably would be a good idea then again I would probably feel safer with a parachute than a ladder

And to imagine Mt Everest is over 29,000 ft tall, mind blowing!
thanks so much!
It is not. It is 29,000 above the see level, but only half of that tall - the other half is not Everest actually
Mount everist has been done in these contraptions.✌️🇬🇧
