Crime in Gotham went from being controlled by wealthy and ruthless mob families that are untouchable to the law to a gallery of mentally ill theatre nerds that who's plans fail on a weekly basis, I say that's a win.
There we’re two comics of Batman in which he never existed. And in both the villains still appear despite the fact Bruce never became the dark knight, once more hinting that it maybe a spiritual aspect of the city itself. Even in the episode Trial the new da for Gotham had proved that it wasn’t Batman that made them become villains but rather themselves.
@@notproductiveproductions3504In the comics, it is said that there was a warlock who was buried under Gotham City and his essence went onto corrupt the minds of Gotham’s inhabitants.
@@orlandofurioso7329 Supernatural elements don’t really fit inside the Nolan trilogy. In Batman Begins, the reasons given for Gotham’s state is the rampant corruption and the unwillingness to do anything about it.
This is why I think a Batman origin story is more interesting if the villains are already running Gotham and Batman has to be created out of a necessity to bring them to justice.
The cable series "Gotham" depicts the origin of Batman, in which his Rogues Gallery came first, disproving the Superhero Paradox cliche of a superhero attracting supervillain challengers to their hometown with their tough reputation. 🤓
The way i see it, Batman keeps organized crime supressed but he also inspires super criminals, so it’s a “damned if you do, damn if you dont” situation…
Supervillains exist because the comics would rapidly grow dull if they didn’t. Just the same as the argument that supervillains develop because of superheroes, the same could be said of vice versa. It’s the societies that develop these advanced beings, not the beings themselves, because when one is created, its polar opposite will be too (for the sake of narrative, if nothing else.)
Before Batman kriminals and coruption ruled Gotham, good people like Gordon and Dent tried to do someting within the limits of the law but it did not have efect. When Batman arived he put fear into comon kriminals, but then supervilans aroved in response and Batman stops them, if he kiled them he would be criminal, if he does not kill them they come back. Without Batman Gotham would come back to criminals and now supevilans, so now Gotham neads Batman to keep the people safe since they do not do anithing importante to combat crime and coruption.
batman is essentially to blame, he would be more effective if he stuck to his early teachings and stayed invisible and essentially helped the police without either the police knowing of his existance nor the criminals but the fact that he is essentially flamboyant in his style everyone knows of a batman, and everyone knows he is ideologically driven which is also why he attracts ideologically opposite villains
Dark Knight explained this so well... the mobs and crime families in Gotham were too little for Batman causing more heinous and unruly villains to appear to match his antics
Logically Gotham's middle-class population would move to the suburbs, reducing its population from say, 10 million to 9 million in a decade, like in Compton, CA, or Miami, FL.
My guess. Cheap housing and lots of jobs going. Cheap housing because it kind of sucks to live in with all of the villains. Lots of jobs because of property damage due to the villains, Batman or both. I could be wrong though.
I'd say, compared to other places, its a breeding spot for crime, there's no super heros, the atmosphere is dark and gritty, which makes night jobs easier, when you join a gang, the police are able to be corrupted, people have been made into super(?) villains with and without batman, and if there were more police, maybe a NO no kill rule with batman, crime would go down
Hello there Batcave and Happy New Year to you and everyone else in this wonderful community. I have to admit that this video was absolutely awesome and really does make one think if the question that is presented in this video is absolutely true. I have to admit that I really enjoy how some of the movies and some of the comics, like Batman: White Knight actually deal with this question. However in my opinion, I have to say that I really don't think that Batman is the root of the problem in Gotham nor is he the perfect solution to it either. Especially since Bruce could have used his family's money and company to make Gotham better, by investing in affordable housing in areas that need it or even giving some of the money to the police to hire more men and women to serve and protect. To be honest, besides the factors that were mentioned in the video, there are some others to think about as well.
A curious question for fans: who in your opinion is the true Kingpin of Gotham's underworld? Spoiler alert: it's not Black Mask, it's not The Penguin, it's not Bane. Well, Carmine Falconi was once, but he's not anymore. The truth is that the true Kingpin of Gotham is the one who puts fear not only in the police or civilians, but also in other super-criminals as well. The answer to that question is pretty obvious if you stop to think about it: It's The Clown Prince of Crime, The Jester of Genocide, The Harlequin of Hate, The Great Mogul of Mount Banks, The Ace of Knaves, The Man with a Million Faces, The Domino Killer, Mephistopheles of Crime, the Thin White Duke of Death , THE JOKER.
I say the same thing about Metropolis for Superman Central and Keystone City for the Flash coast city for Green Lantern Faucet City for Shazam Star City for Green Arrow Midway City for Hawkman the city for the tick they just call it the city it never had a name Townsville for the Powerpuff Girls Paris for ladybug and Cat Noir and pretty much New York for Marvel and the TMNT I don't why there's so much crime
Yes it’s Batman’s fault, all the criminals come to Gotham city to stump the great Batman, whether it’s the riddles, fear / fear gas or their organized crime and umbrellas.

Kinda insane how you don't have a Batcave video yet (given your name).
So excited to watch that. Been bingewatching your videos these past two days.

If the housing is affordable I'd live there.

I heard that the reason Gotham has so much crime is because Darkseid made it like that
I know why! Because it’s a comic book and they wrote it that way! 😂
You should talk about how many times Gothams been cursed

Great video 📹
I’ve never considered Batman as the cause of any of the villains in Gotham aside from MAYBE Jason Todd Red Hood.
he’s controlling it at least 🤣
Thanks for the amazing video ❤
It’s weird that anyone would think Batman is the cause when his Parents were murdered.
This was going on long before Bruce Wayne was born.
Actually Barbatos is responsible for Gotham’s high crime rate along with the court of owls.
