Same and I found this video to disable it. It's obvious to me that the mobile designer at google does not use their desktop if they think adding so many gaps and spaces between icons and tabs is efficient and convenient.

Yeah, to some people the new layout will probably look awful and if anything want to watch a video like this to disable it. However, in later versions they'll likely force the new layout whether people like it or not just like they did when they removed the pre-2018 layout which I remember myself as a former Google Chrome user. Now I am currently using Pale Moon with the PMChrome theme installed to get the classic layout back which aside from extension incompatibility is for me personally an excellent way to restore the classic look. The Material Moon theme could also be installed for the classic layout to look more modern but I personally just felt like making things look older than that.

I can agree with you and once they force this new layout the only option will be getting used to a different browser for people who hate it to such an extent. Instead of using Google Chrome I personally use Pale Moon with the PMChrome theme installed as of commenting to restore the classic look Google Chrome once had since in modern versions of Chrome it wouldn't be possible unless wither the source code was modified to restore the old layout in modern versions or if a much older version was used with very high security risks.

The new layout has bigger context menus and it offers less customizability from what I've seen. I could be wrong but to me the new layout still sort of looks similar to what came before but even more rounded.
