Google Chrome is the most popular web browser out there at the moment. But did you know there are several 'versions' of chrome called release channels? Specifically, there is the regular 'stable' version which is what most people use, and then there are also the beta, developer, and canary channels. Different channels receive updates sooner than others, usually many weeks before the stable version gets the final update.

My pc isn’t good enough to run google chrome at 30 frames
U guys r getting frames?

What about 30Tabs?!
I use Chrome Canary! I find that it runs faster than regular Chrome and Firefox.
Good for u
@amog tutoriel that's maybe cuz of your pc, I used canary for 4 months and still using
I've been using canary for my main browser for just less than a year now. There was one day where it crashed on opening rendering it completely unusable. Also, about a week ago, every 2-3 web pages would crash and need to be reloaded a few times to work. There have been some more minor bugs, but overall, I've enjoyed my experience with it.
Same, but my bug was that some of the chrome tab names were unreadable.
My bug was if GPU acceleration was enabled, everything broke. All the icons were messed up, and webpages were an absolute mess. Otherwise I rarely run into issues with canary, I have used it for 3 years now and wouldn't go back to the stable channel.
Dang extended stable is on 120, stable is on 122, and canary is on 124.
Joke on you ThioJoe I use Microsoft Edge Chromium Canary.
Micah G. Jennings De Leon eeeeeeeee
Umm so you want Microsoft to own your life
Uhh...isn't Chromium a virus?
@@Rory_shi No, it isn't.
@@Rory_shi No, its open source chrome.
8:00 You can install multiple Chrome versions on MacOS, but still a great video as always
And on any platform as well...
And on Linux, though for installing stuff I chroot into a backup of my PC so it's possible this isn't true
window 10 to
On Android as well
nice
Didn’t know this!! Good to know!👍🏿
I always knew thio had potential to be a great channel that's very helpful
Chrome = Debian Stable
Beta = KDE Neon
Dev = Solus
Canary = Arch
Chromium: Fedora
@@dyllyyy6820 - Stupid Dream fan
Ungoogled-chromium: Tails OS
Dude how can I get dev class
@@enderger5308 or every debian based linux os
I always use Canary to ensure I get optimal results for when I google memes.
No, @ThioJoe you are wrong. All of them the stable, beta, dev and canary can be run separately. I have four of them installed. You can refer to google for more info.
Nice insight bro , I didn't know that isn't only one version of google chrome
Thanks Thio
>Stable Udates

Interesting. Thanks for the video.
Been using Firefox since 2010 but always good to learn new things.
I have been using the new Microsoft Edge powered by Chrome for a while now so it is my go to browser. It boots faster than Chrome and Firefox and has all the features and plugins I love from Chrome
Same!
When you are considering the boot time of a browser you need a faster computer!
@@PeteyPeteee Or at least just a better OS
Joshua J even though your tenically using chrome Microsoft is still collecting data on you so, just letting you know
@@dyllankolinen I mean Microsoft does not collect as much as data as google because Microsoft collects less data than google since they already collect fr9m windows so they don’t need to collect as much as data in edge and bing
I used the beta after the great "stable" version broke pfft
Stable versions of everything usually has some sort of bug. No one is perfect. Beta has it's own problems, since it's generally less secure.
It's right on macOS but on Windows, users should be able to install Stable, Beta and Dev channels on same OS. In example, I installed 5 channels of the Chrome (including all of these 3 channels, including Canary and Chromium.).
Stable version is good!
I downloaded and installed google chrome beta and I had the stable version before and it did not delete the old version, so I had to delete it manually.
1:42 udates lol
Got all the Channels. I suppose I'm helping Chrome for Android/as a whole by doing this.
Thio, when will the Beta version of chrome be approved to replace the current chrome update?
Currently running Edge Dev and it runs like a dream so will stay on it. Left Chrome a long time ago as it was just to bloated and woefully slow.
Edge is more bloated than Chrome. Besides, Edge IS chrome.
You are my favorite RUclipsr!
GamerJaydenPlaysGames do you play fortnite kid I think I got a friend request from you?
I never friend request people on fortnite
Only my friends in real live
GamerJaydenPlaysGames ok just got a request from "jaidenplayz" and it connected in my head
O that’s not me on fortnite it’s jaydentross3 like on roblox
????? I have the Bata and normal chrome both working on my computer at the same time
Also the Bata chrome is 64bit you didn't mention that
To wit,
I have all four channels of Google Chrome installed on my Windows 10 machine, and they seem to all function correctly.
I also have all three pre-release channels of Microsoft Edge (chromium).
For compatibility with some legacy server software, I keep Internet Explorer 11.
Everything seems to play well together on my machine.
Jesus, what are the specs of your computer?
@@ur_other_mother hehe
Not that awesome, really. I don't need to run all of those browsers at the same time. I just have them to help check website compatibility. My point was only that you could have them all installed.
It's been over a year, but I think this was in reply to a question about whether you could install more than one version of a browser at a time.
One thing you said is incorrect. If you have stable, and install beta, it will install it separately. Stable is installed in C:\Program Files (x86)\Google\Chrome\Application, and beta in C:\Program Files\Google\Chrome Beta\Application
So did Minecraft help push forward nightly version. I know that in a small community we could get nightly updates, but feels like ever since MC did updates, like all the time, at the start. Now MS has taken over, not so much, but at the start it was all the time. We were just waiting for a update within like Hours. Again it's been done before. I remember when Winamp was growing, at peak. We got updated really fast. It just seems like it's trending now. And don't know how to feel about it. I choose Firefox anyhow. ;P
I use Vivaldi
Firefox have become my go to browser now
I'm getting Windows XP version names flashbacks all of a sudden!
I had chrome beta, but I now searched and I see that I now have only the stable version.
What's an update consist of? Why they update every 3-6 weeks or whatever? Please understand I'm new to all this.
i use google chrome canary and sometimes it does crash it does have bugs but they get fixed pretty fast
I have stable and beta both installed though?

My opinion to free up space on Google photos isn't highlighted
And says can't free up space
When I delete images from my device there also gone from my Google photos.
What have I need to do in order to get my free space option to highlight and operate?
i use google chrome beta for 1 month and had no problems
Udates 1:13 should say Updates
If you have an Android phone, you can download all 4 versions in the Play Store, I'm not sure about iOS
Brave & Canary
i like opera it lets you use fb messager/watsapp on the sidebar and it can turn most video players into a floating window that floats infronty of apps
chrome means
green-beta
yellow-canary
red-dev
blue-CHROMIUM
you misspelled Updates at 1:38
Does beta, dev, and canary have flash player? Otherwise i will get 1.0.0 of chrome on a virtual machine (with internet)
The time to receive the update will be as follows:
- Regular Version: It takes 1.5 to 3 months to receive the update.
- Beta Version: It takes 2 to 5 weeks to receive the update.
- Developer Version: It takes 3 days to 1 week to receive the update.
- Canary Version: It takes 18 hours 27 minutes to 23 hours 38 minutes to receive the update.
I tried the Canary, it is mostly stable, but I switched to the Dev.
1:45 it says stable udates
Watching this on Canary, it crashed a few times first though.
I went to properties and changed icon to that
I've been using Google Chrome only for many years and I 'm 😊 with a Chrome browser...
8:00 not true. I got 2 working at once on Windows 10
8:00 "you can only choose one" mistake! You can have all at once side by side
Mendy Berger i once had Stable, Beta, Dev and Canary on my for some reason until i reinstalled windows to update it
I use canary
I use Edge. The regular version, not the upcoming Chromium version. It's me go-to.
I use Canary because its work if the stable version break but if canary broke like yesteday i start use stable but i love use canary its so good i recommend it
strange, canary has never broken for me, and i have used it is my main browser for 3 years. maybe a few minor bugs here and there but nothing major. the browser has never been unusable for me.
Whats an udate
I have all of them
Hello. I use Canary! :)

Chrome but the logo is colorful = mindblowing
Oh those custom icons
Not sure what you mean but those are the icons for each channel from Google's own web page
ThioJoe right click on chromes shortcut and press change icon
Hey Thio. What do you think about the fiasco with google perma banning users from their youtube and gmail accounts for spamming emotes on live chat?
Imo, this is a wake up call to anyone who over relies on google's ecosystem. If my gmail was banned, I'd be royally screwed.
yay im early! only 5 comments!

theres a way to get the canary picture for the google chrome without actually going to the canary versoin of google (u stay in stable even tho the destop pic is canary)(10 likes i will edit to reveal)
I disliked on purpose (though since Google pussied out, I guess you'll never really know).
I'm not first but when ever I see the notification I click on it ASAP
You must get those notifications late because I beat you by a few minutes, and I don't even have my bell on.
@@QuiteDecent RUclips notifications are just sort of broken in general. You have the bell on? 50% chance you'll get a notification. You don't? You'll never see that channel again

so chrome canary is the chrome equivalent to firefox nightly? in india, we get daily updates instead of nightly BTW. so i guess firefox nightly is going to be firefox daily for me.
Yes, you go with your weights wherever you go
Choose version Microsoft Edge Dev.
I'm using Microsoft Edge beta and I can say that I love it. I always used just Chrome and Firefox. But right now, for me the best choice it's this new Microsoft Edge. It's working so smooth and so fast. It's crazy. It's very nice that in 2 seconds I can send my open tabs from my smartphone on my laptop. I know that another browsers have it, but I don't know, it's working very nice. 😁
NoReason atleast you’re not using Internet Explorer so i *Respecc* you
@@Azusachu No way. IE is slow as fck.
Me from the yes Microsoft has discontinued IE in 2022
I'm using Firefox
Yeah on chrome canary you can group tabs
I will get hate for it, but I use Microsoft Edge 🤷🏾♂️. I only use my PC to surf web and watch RUclips in the first place so IDC what browser I'm using.
Hi mister
You are able to install multiple versions on mobile
1:41 typo lol
Hey Thio please check out Chromium Edge it's pretty cool
i use cananry
8:03 to anyone scared of losing chrome this feature has changed I have all 4 of them and you can too
I use Canary as my main
me too! i actually have never experienced any major issues with canary. maybe a few minor bugs here and there but overall its generally stable.
I use edge
I use chromium, came preinstalled on Linux and that’s what’s on my laptop
First to vote on the poll
I'll stick with the Stable version
