    I had the venturer in the same colourway. It's a gorgeous little watch with the most comfortable bracelet I think I've ever experienced. I actually had a QC issue with mine where the date wheel was misaligned. Being a multi watch collector I wore it the first few days then it went in the box for rotation. I didn't notice the misalignment until after the return window but Traska customer services had no issues providing an international shipping label. Long story short it was returned twice and eventually had the movement replaced. The company could probably have brushed me off that it was within tolerance but I was looked after brilliantly as a customer. On the one hand disappointed the issue was missed before shipping but on the other hand these things happen and its how you make it right is what really matters. Customer service is expensive for a small brand and Traska did it right.

    For anyone wondering about the hardening treatment on the steel, it seems to be legit. I've had this watch since it was released and somehow this thing doesn't have a single scuff on it. Like it looks out of the box brand new still.
    I'm so impressed with that that I'm honestly upset that my more expensive watches don't have the same treatment.

    They managed here a truly versatile watch with several high-quality aspects. The basic style is executed with taste and elegance. I can't get familiar with the crown at ten, but the nice inner bezel needs something to actuate it so i won't be unfair. Definitely a do-it-all that'll have in my list.

    I was torn between the black and blue dials. Ended up ordering the black one even though I have another gmt that’s 20 yo with exactly the same color way (even red gmt hand) because it probably will draw less attention in less safe places around the world. I am heading Bhutan and Vietnam (Traska’s back story) for some volunteering work.
    Because of your review, I am have serious second thoughts with my choice in color.
    Sighs, another watch channel to follow:)

    Thanks for pointing out this review. I enjoyed it. I still don't know if the Venturer benefitted from all little tweaks the newest models received, but it's also a distinct and technically more complex watch. Living far away from my home country and working internationally one would think a GMT would be right up my street and on paper it is. When it comes to it, I have just never goen for it and the overall aesthetic pleasure of time only or time and date seems to generally win out qhen it comes to a purchasing decision. I'm wondering if the dial construction here, which clearly leads to an attractive saturated colour finish is also uaed in other Traska dials. Admittedly I never questioned hiw they achieve their colourwd dials, such as on the freediver and summiteer also. For me this watch is a little thick, naturally thansk to WR and gmt function and it feels big consdering your wrist size, which is bigger than mine. As said elsewhere, the current summiteer in 36mm has be severely tempted and much like you I have followed Traska for a while and it sort of feels like owning one is overdue, also because the value is clearly there. Problem is, I like many things, usually slightly more unusual designs so would I ever prioritise this? The fact I really like their logo icon is insufficient... But a smallwe size watch on a hardened bracelet... I'm still mulling it over.

    Everyone who's commenting on the price, the Traska Venturer has the added bonus of hardened stainless steel and a price point that is roughly $200-$300 lower than most (if not all competition) with the Miyota 9075 movement

  • @BoozewithNick
    @BoozewithNick Год назад

    I had to laugh when you said you were trying too get away from the black dials. Writing this with a Mako II (black dial, of course) on my wrist. lol Anyway, it’s definitely nice looking, the enameled dial really does look good, and it doesn’t look small on your wrist despite the smallish diameter. Serious bonus points for hardening the steel.

    • @EsbjornWristwatchReviews
      @EsbjornWristwatchReviews  10 месяцев назад +1

      Hey there, tbh it's not the most legible of colours but it sure is pretty. It's still one of my favourite watches but I'd give the steel hands against light blue a 7/10 legibility wise. Lume is good, not great. It's good on the hands where it needs to be, things like the 24 hour scale fades extremely quickly but that's to be expected. I still highly recommend it, I love mine.

      A number of established Microbrands are using Miyota movements since the failure rate is far less than the equivalent Swss movements, so I really don't think there's any reason to be concerned about the quality nor servicability. I've certainly not had any problems to date with Miyota movements.
